  1. Ship still in Astoria, Saturday the 18th, 830am
  2. As of today, Friday the 17th, the Panorama is still parked in Astoria, OR. :No news on how the ship will get under the bridge yet. Crew members are welcomed in town and out and about. Latest news from local paper is that the Ship will be here until Dec. 4th. Not saying this is factual. then on to Portland, OR for repairs. Saw the Ship twice today, great view, weather beautiful to view Ship.
  3. All I can answer to is the tax on drinks in US Ports prior to sailing away. . Yes, our experience in cruises leaving from numerous ports, if you drink before getting pulled away from the Port, there is a state tax that applies to each drink.
  4. Oatmeal is not on the Haven Breakfast Menu. They will get you it though, may take a few extra minutes, if you prefer it Everday, let them know, and it will probably be available without extra wait time.
  5. rugerdog: IT WAS OFF-PUTTING TO ME. When hero Cards were introduced, it was my opinion they were for a staff member that did something exceptional. All employees are outstanding, but it seems like it is a competition now to get cards. One of the cards I left was for a restaurant wait server that was dealing with a very difficult table of passengers. Her professionalism and patience i thought was outstanding. these incidents are the reason I leave cards.
  6. I have not read through 66 pages, so a little late to the game. But Just off the Encore, Oct. 22. We were very fortunate our Butler and room Steward went beyond. Had regular drink pkg. did pay extra for Espresso Martini, about $2.60, We ordered our regular go to drinks, they were covered. With a full Ship (4500 passengers) the Haven was worth every penny we spent to book. Will say the Haven restaurant, as others, has a noticeable decline in food quality, but was not surprised. The afternoon snacks which sometimes appreciated, were not very good and were mostly put back to be taken away. Many years ago, the snacks were awesome, but still too much to eat before going out to dinner.
  7. The Encore has gone to No Reservations for shows in the Theatre and comedy club. This changed last week. First come basis
  8. Have always filled some out for staff that I felt went out of their way for customer service. Just off the Encore. We did have a bar server in the Haven that was nice. the last night of cruise, server asked if we would fill out a Hero Card for them. I was presented a Hero card with their full name already filled in. Have never ever had this happen before, anyone else have this experience. I did fill it out, was very vague, nice, pleasant person. Because server was determined to get it back from me filled in.
  9. Sailed Encore, Oct 15-22. Had the choir Of Man Show. The cancellation reservation email, that I received, was due to the Show now does not take reservations, . the Show times were changed while onboard. Ended up Friday night, 7:30 and 10:30pm and Saturday 1:30 and 4:30pm
  10. Got the same email today for our Oct 15th sailing. Doubtful anyone at NCL will know what's up, about an alternative show?? Disappointed, but guess worse can happen. And did say go to deck 6 Box office to make another reservation.
  11. Our experience disembarking from NOLA on the Breakaway and Getaway was twice efficient. the third time was the complete opposite. As said above in "theory" you could make your flight, but I would have a Plan B in place. Foggy conditions can cause a delay docking also to consider.
  12. Used Executive Car Service , they were able to pick up outside baggage area across "traffic island" did not need to go to LAXIT. For extra $ they will come inside terminal and escort you out with your luggage to their parking area. Very helpful, courteous and had a very safe driver.
  13. If you feel sick, with whatever, hoping passengers will be considerate of others and cover up at the least.
  14. Many thanks!! Never realized a time change for Alaska, learn something everyday. Our departure time from Ketchikan 115pm, will assume we get back onboard with no problem. this is the oct 15th sailing.
  15. BirdTravels ? the time change, one hour ahead on the Friday before Victoria, did you change back Saturday night before arriving in Seattle? Have been on an Alaska Cruise before, just dont remember this. Did excursion buses pick up passengers in Ketchikan at the Pier or did they need to take the Shuttle Bus to Town? Our excursion is 1030 to 1pm, Daily says all onboard 1245pm, did you hear of any problems or people left behind, ours in through NCL. thanks if you have time to reply, am just curious , saw these time things in the Freestyle Dailies you posted, thanks
  16. looks like you have it covered for certain. When boarding the Ship, take your carry on and back packs with you for extra control of your luggage.
  17. last September (2022) our Alaska Cruise, which stopped in Canada required testing upon boarding 48 hours prior to boarding ( a negative). Don't think that would be possible hours before boarding. In your case I think NCL did accommodate passengers, somehow bypassed the Canadian restrictions for testing negative for COVID 48 hours before boarding. Good for them. that is what I am referring to, when last minute changes come up! Your Canada Pass online was easy, getting tested at last minute or even DAYS before is not.
  18. Can you request a handicap room? those would have a shower, no tub
  19. I don't need hand holding (UFF da) think my original intention of posting has gone a little off. I purchased this cruise under the Terms and Conditions listed I agreed to.. I researched entry requirements into Canada thoroughly. after receiving the email, my impression was a little warning if "health requirements change" if you cannot get them, (testing, vaccinations) ,you will be denied boarding and no compensation. If entry requirements change, which hopefully will not, yes, then I feel the Terms and Conditions of my purchase are no longer the same, thus NCL does have an obligation to accommodate for requirements or refund. NCL has a responsibility to ensure anyone booking with them is provided up to date accurate information about terms and conditions of their itinerary before accepting their money, if terms of sailing change it should be their obligation to accommodate and notify passengers. I am "worrying" in advance, but like I have said previously, never received this email in 25 plus cruises. Just made me wonder . all I have to say!
  20. OP answering back. The visa issue for countries was mentioned in email only after the Health Requirement Advisory. Doing an Alaska Cruise. which stops in Canada for 4 hours. On NCL website under safe and sail page, only Country listed was Australia still requiring vaccinations and testing. Have cruised with NCL at least 25 times, most recently March this year, have never received an email like this. My concern is if Canada reinstates their Covid testing requirement to enter Country (yes even on a cruise and you don't set foot in the Country, as was the case last year) meeting that requirement could pose a problem. I bought the cruise under the conditions no restrictions applied, if that changes, I feel a return of compensation is only fair. This would apply to other countries in the next few months. I have researched Canada's entry requirements thoroughly before purchasing cruise. But if things change on a dime, I feel my purchase from NCL should be returned if unable to meet any change within a short time of departure. Posted to see if others with cruises going wherever else have received same email. Posting not about visa requirements, I don't think they change with the crazy covid possible epidemic again, urggh
  21. Cruise is Oct 15,2023, got this email, outlining it is passengers responsibility to keep updated about any changes to countries on itinerary that may change health requirement to enter country . i.e. covid as I interpret it? Will be denied boarding with no compensation if you do not have required documentation needed. . then went on abut visa requirements also being passenger responsibility. Direct you to their Safe Sail page, which I don't think has been updated in over a year. Only country listed was Australia with covid restrictions. Don't know if this is just a standard email going out or if it is due to the uptick in Covid and there may be upcoming restrictions again. thought it was pretty unfriendly about your responsibility and no compensation. just my opinion
  22. There is a taxi line you can get in, think $59.00 to LAX
