  1. My wife and I used our local Lloyd's Pharmacy before boarding Britannia last month. It was carried out very proficiently and we had our signed confirmation of a negative test within 20 minutes. I'd be quite happy to have to do it for any future cruise.
  2. May I suggest one option. How about on your balcony, (assuming you have a balcony cabin) with an evening meal using room service with champers, flowers etc. And if you in port, so much better. I successfully proposed on the promenade deck at the aft of Oceana. It was our first cruise. It was a bit of a risk in case someone strolled around the corner but it was quite late in the evening and I got away with it. I had to ask twice, either because my now wife couldn't believe what I'd said or because she didn't hear due to the sound of the wash. Anyway, we've now been married for 7 happy years and we're lucky enough to have had two further cruises on Oceana and revisited "The Spot" with fond memories. Good luck!!
  3. I've been on 5 P&O ships including Ventura and Aurora and would say that all the safes are the same size.
  4. Last month we booked all shows that we attended via cruise personaliser before we boarded or via the app. whilst on board, sometimes as late as the day of the show. We did always go to the late shows but there was always vacant seats
  5. Please can you advise where you obtained this information regarding unvaccinated passengers being allowed on board, as the P&O website states; "All guests aged 16 years and over need to be fully vaccinated including a booster."
  6. We were on Britannia last month and all deck activities were available. You need to get the equipment from the Sport Hub on Lido Deck, which is manned by a member of the entertainment team, leaving your cabin number with them, and return it when you have finished. There was no requirement to wear masks anywhere onboard, although we did whilst moving around busy areas.
  7. The 140 points from your second cruise will be added to the 120 points from your first cruise. This will give you a total of 260 points once you have completed the second cruise, putting you in the Pacific Tier of the Peninsula Club. You will then start to benefit for being a member, for example 5% on board spend discount on your next cruise. Benefits increase the more nights you spend on board with subsequent cruises.
  8. Judging by the speed they leave the theatre, they clearly don't need to use a lift!!!
  9. I'm not sure any of the Entertainment Team would want to do 5 minutes after a show. They'd be competing with the people who insist on leaving their seats the minute the show/act has finished even before the house lights have been turned on and a final round of applauds to show appreciation is given to the performers. These people are not only annoying when trying to push past if you are in the same row, but are extremely rude to the performers and shows total ignorance. It is also a health and safety issue to rush out of the theatre in the dark.
  10. Everyone's spending habits are all different. It doesn't matter how much you spend as long as you can pay for it when you get home.
  11. Agree it is very easy to go over limits. The important thing is to know how much money is in your bank account at a given time and how much has been spent using a credit card during any given month. It simply comes down to managing your money properly and only spend what you can afford.
  12. Hi Peter. I'm also on Venrura late Oct but can't see anything on the system confirming the extra OBC. Are you able to point me in the right direction? Thank you
  13. If the reason for the visit being abandoned is because of bad weather there will not be any OBC compensation as such an eventuality is covered by cruise travel insurance. From personal past experience this can be as much as £300 each.
  14. Yes, there were not any photographers on Britannia.
  15. As we will be there for the day on our next visit, we are planning a late, relaxed breakfast before walking into the town. We may go on the cable car for the views and possibly visit the caves while up there. I personally enjoy taking photos in the caves whilst enjoying the music and colourful lighting. No two visits are the same. It was possible to purchase an all in one ticket, which includes the tunnels and Castle too. Alternatively, make it a more leisurely visit and have a drink (or 2) in Casement Square or the harbour followed by a nice lunch. As I have said we are all different, and what we enjoy is not necessarily someone else's cup of tea. I am reluctant to recommend any bars/restaurants as the last time we were there was pre pandemic.
  16. They were last week on Britannia
  17. This just shows how everyone is different. We have visited Gib on 7 out of 9 cruises plus a 4 night stay at the Rock Hotel in the last 8 years. I have to say we missed not going there on our last 2 cruises. Looking forward to having an all day visit on Ventura later in the year. Horses for courses.
  18. I was on cruise B217 last week. We were told by the Captain of a change to Toulon a day or two before we were due to dock at Marseilles. The reasons given were; a) Marseille would be busy as there would be 3 other ships in port, b) there was a shortage of coach drivers for the shuttle buses required and under their regulations they have to take breaks, which would be at lunchtime, when the demand for Shuttles is high and c) French dock workers had delayed the entry of two ships by 2 hours the previous day. In light of this it was decided to go to Toulon instead, where we were the only ship docked. It did require a free 10-15 minute shuttle ferry across the bay, but they operated very efficiently. New excursions were arranged and these left by coach direct from Britannia. As has been mentioned already, Toulon is a nice town, with beaches, bars and history. I appreciate frustrations regarding the timing of the announcement but in my view it did not detract from the enjoyment of the cruise overall.
  19. You may find that missed port insurance cover only applies if it is due to bad weather and providing no alternative port was found
  20. Regardless of what he is complaining about or what upsets him, he needs to be glad he's able to go on a cruise!
  21. I have completed several cruises with P&O and on each occasion one of the Black Tie nights has been a black and white theme. Maybe True Devonian and partner need to know if this has changed or whether or not to pack their black and white attire.
  22. I think you need to do a reality check and consider the reason why you are no longer going to St. Petersburg. I'm sure there are many Ukranians who would welcome a night in Stockholm or Copenhagen.
  23. If he/she is friend, why not ask them if it's that important to you
