  1. Thank you for your thoughts having just returned from Britannia, particularly with regards to your cabin on Deck 15. Whilst I appreciate the savings gained when booking a Saver Fare, compared to Select, there is always a risk involved, especially with the location of your cabin and dining arrangements. It is unfortunate if you end up with something that does not meet your preferences, but then maybe it comes down to "you get what you pay for". Having said that, it is not acceptable that 5 different people failed to respond to your request to sort the dining out, even if it was to advise that changing your allotted dining arrangements was not possible.
  2. Whilst I've only done 9 cruises I have also never had any issues/problems whatsoever with any pre authorisations using a credit card. Before setting sail I always ensure any money I spend on board will not exceed my credit card limit. I keep a record of each purchase and if p & o's account is within £20 of my total, which has always been the case, it gets paid automatically, without me worrying about it. I will add that I have never felt the need to log in to my bank accounts when away from home.
  3. A proper mini then!!! Fun cars to drive. Much better than the imitation ones built today.
  4. I appreciate this situation may not appear to be your ideal scenario, but, as a parent of adult children, may I encourage that you spend as much time with your offspring as you can while they are young. They soon grow up!
  5. I don't know what it means but the arrival and departure times for all the ports are missing when we are on Britannia in July
  6. I can remember when this happened to my sister. It was 1971 when we boarded P&O's SS Orcades at Southampton. In those days all cases were loaded on to the ship in nets by crane. Unfortunately her case, together with several others, slipped out of the net and fell into the water between the dock and side of the ship. As you can imagine my sister, who was 16 at the time, was distraught. Back then everyone dressed up for dinner, men in suits and ladies in long dresses and all but one of her dresses was in the said case. She loved her clothes and had worked Saturdays in Woolworths to earn the money to buy her dresses. P&O were able to rescue her case from the drink and laundered everything on board. However, this meant my sister had to wear the one surviving dress for the first three evenings, which again upset her. The case itself was ruined and I remember going with my father to buy a replacement case whilst in Gibraltar.
  7. Hi Orianababes. Re MDR. What do you mean by "The booking system is workable"? Thanks
  8. If the need to dine together is that important, why did you all book a Saver Fare and not Select?
  9. It is probably due to P & O providing special offers with additional OBC if you booked before 30th May. We took advantage and saved ourselves £400 on today's prices plus we received £180 OBC.
