This may be a dumb question, but whatever, someone upthread mentioned a cart taxi, can one actually drive to Caye Caulker? I'd like a faster way than by air or a 45 min boat ride. Also someone mentioned a water taxi and a ferry taxi. Is that one and the same or are there two different ways to get to Caye Caulker by boat?
A caye is an island. There is no air service to Caye Caulker at this time

there's really no way to avoid the charges, right? since a lot of FL is just electronic tolls anyway?
Don't use the toll road

It's not necessary to be concerned about something that isn't happening

Driving in Mexico easy I've driven all over Mexico it's not that big a deal but if a person is a fearful driver they're going to be fearful anywhere

If someone hasnot been to Puerto Vallarta before I certainly would NOT advise to rent a car and drive to/from San Sebastian! Traffic in Vallarta can be busy and cobnfusing. Better make a tour with one of the guides offering their services at the port.
Recently the road has been partly closed due to mudslides.
Puerto Vallarta is a Town of 200,000 people , not a big deal

San Sebastian is a town the Spanish started in the 1600 to mine silver and is absolutely incredible the little Cathedral and all the stone houses. Google it to look at it but you can rent a car and drive up there on a paved Road east of PV

From my experience, which is extensive, it’s been a good resource.
My room tonight I’ll be reviewing next week

Nice room but you do have some homework to do

I use trip advisor alot and it's been extremely helpful for me. I used it today prior to booking a hotel I hadn't stayed at in about three years...just to make sure it's the same as I remembered it. I also post reviews of my hotel stays there. And I haven't made a dime doing it. But i'd be very interested in hearing how I can get paid for them since you seem to know about it.
this is commonly known so I'll just let you do your own due diligence.

More Specifically, it is the rooms that were formerly known as the "Loft Rooms" or "Loft Suites" at the Embassy Suites. The main building of the Embassy Suites still exists and continues to be branded as Embassy Suites. The annex building next door that housed the Loft Suites was sold, and converted to the Mercantile Hotel.
Skip TA, way too many fake reviews. People earn money posting them.

Dude, did you run out of snickers already?
Calling people dude, must be a curtain climder

Any reason the other post asking the same question didn't cover it for you

Caye Caulker is a small 6 Mile Long Island with hotels restaurants and bars nothing more. Snorkeling and Diving is normally done over on the Marine reserves which are on the beach at ambergris Caye. The marine reserves do require a guide. There are no flights to caye Caulker at all.
-
Keep in mind that Placencia is 20 miles from the reef at caye Caulker and ambergris caye are just a matter of a couple hundred yards. There are no flights of any kind to caye Caulker

Doesn't take a genius to know it's implied. Or do you take everything literally?
There is nothing implied on the internet because there's no way to read a person.
Another option is to rent a kayak when you get to San Pedro and Kayak Out To The Reef and use the tie offs and snorkel. The Marine reserves do require a guide.

Sand fleas
in Roatan
DEET is for mosquitoes not sand fleas. You use baby oil for sand fleas applied to your legs.

Google San Francisco microbrew directory. You will likely put together more of a route

I am going this March and I am a wife that doesn't like to be cold. Did you go and where you cold?
It's probably reasonable to expect a tropical jungle to be hot

Geek1, I'm sorry if you feel that way. You're so off the mark, that's what happens when you assume the negative. We have been on 5 cruises and 2 times to roatan, which has been our favorite for snorkeling. Just because I write a thorough review somehow provokes rude comments. Thats why i often dont post, too many unnecessary mean comments. I just know as someone who is 1. fairly new to cruising and 2. extremely OCD when it comes to planning I appreciate specifics. I was simply trying to provide a good response to the person's questions. Be nice!
Be honest

I would rent a car in PV and drive up to San Sebastian. The town was built by the Spanish in the 1600 to mine silver and is Spanish Colonial stone with a really cool little Cathedral.

Well darn, who would've guessed? My question was are they readily available to flag down, or are you required to call for them in advance. Seeing as other people have done it successfully I don't recall asking you Geiko
Go ahead and read what you posted cuz that's not what you asked

When we were in Belize previously, my son saw a sign in port for a chocolate factory tour where you learn how chocolate is made and then get to make your own chocolate bar. He said that he’d want to do that next time we’re in Belize and we just booked a cruise that goes there again next year.
I don’t see anything under the cruise ship excursions for this so is anyone familiar with it? Has anyone done it and does it seem like something kids would enjoy?

Thank you for sharing this! I'm having the hardest time trying to find the perfect snorkeling excursion in Belize for just my husband and I. We're only going to be there from 8am-5pm with Carnival Freedom. Grumpy & Happy seem like a good company, they are expensive but their reviews and website seem promising. Do you have any more tips? Was it difficult getting to and from Belize Municipal airport/Tourism Village?
Belize has these things called taxis you get in the car they take you somewhere and you give the drivers some money. The best diving and snorkeling in Belize is out on the atolls but they're just too far out to be practical from a cruise
