Can we have this section split based on area or states? Information about LA or San Fran is not important to someone sailing out of Seattle or Vancouver.
splitting this into specific topics makes a lot of sense.

Sounds like travel isn't for your husband

I would skip TripAdvisor, way way too many fake reviews for that place to be useful. You will certainly be able to spend the entirety of your time in Portland on microbrews but there are also a bunch of micro distilleries in Portland now you might want to look at. It's called Distillery row you can Google that. You could also go north across the river to the Northwest fur trading post it's pretty impressive.

Yeah! Have a blast. You will LOVE diving Roatan.
We are leaving in 2 days for a week of diving in Cozumel. Not cruising again until Feb.
Cozumel diving is okay but while you're there go over to Playa and Tulum and do some Cenote diving. Belize diving has its own uniqueness with the atolls. Roatan diving is great because a lot of it is very close to the beach.

Since I don't know the area at all I haven't a clue when I look at a store locator map as to where it is. Either in San Francisco or San Diego. I need more specific info as to where to find what I want-name of area where port is would help.
Can't imagine anything being more specific than gmaps . Gmaps will draw a line from where you are to the store you just follow it.

Agree. That with a little Google Maps or similar.
The store locator will locate it on the map

Thank you for the helpful information. I think we'll just go to the walmart after we get back from the luau. Since the ship doesn't leave until midnight we should have plenty of time. Hope we dock at pier 11 since walmart is very close. I can't find that info in any of my paperwork showing what pier we dock at. Thanks again.

I believe there was an incident about 3 or 4 years ago in which the gravity service was interrupted. From what I understand gravity service was resumed quite promptly.

Oh
Well no, I'm the first person to take the quickest way anywhere I go...but like to be prepared and know the cost in advance for planning for my family. I'm always ready to get there as quick as possible and make the most of my day. I don't like wasting time. :D
Thanks Crew :)
The cost will depend on your negotiating skills

Maps typically have a scale in the bottom corner that you can use to measure distance with

I'm so glad to hear this information and really helps a lot. The price the dive shop gave us was $20/pp (total...round trip). So I guess this is a great deal and we'll definitely go with that.
Thanks so much for your help (as always) Guest. :)
There are a couple options you might consider. If taxis are really expensive for you you might ask them if they would Finance the trip for you but I would expect a high interest rate. Another option would be to take the Collectivo

Just to update, I talked to Javier and Arnie this evening and they are adding dive tours through one of the dive shops. Please check out the site soon and you will see the addition. I just let them know that people were interested and they started working on it.

I have to say I'm surprised you had to tell them to add diving tours. Roatan is a big diving destination. A tour business is something that's built up over time
They will need to spend at least a couple of hours every single day marketing themselves going to Resorts handing out brochures and buying ads on Google. Tours that other people don't offer will be another Niche for them to fill. Birding and cave exploring are just a couple of ideas.

The cruise ships keep close tabs on what's going on with their ports and they won't be returning to San Juan until things are reasonably squared away they're not going to dump a bunch of people on shore and have the people stand there and go now what do we do

There is no need to stay in the tourist area the entirety of the Yucca time is occupied by many thousands of us and Canadian expats so it is at least as safe as anywhere else

When do the variables that people don't think a lot about is the supply chain. Stores need to be able to be resupplied with food and t-shirts and booze and so on. The question at this point are vendors able to get on to Duval Street and Supply the businesses or not.

I should think it would go without comment that if it's windy it's going to be wavy if it's not windy it's not going to be wavy

This is New Orleans were talking about while there is a section of Bourbon Street that is being reconstructed at the moment most of the streets in the quarter haven't had anything done to them in a hundred years. Are we talking about a wheelchair situation?
