  1. Were on Celebration three weeks ago, cove balcony on deck 5, (not spa cabin location so sorry cannot answer your question about the noise), but wanted to say we absolutely loved being on deck 5, very convenient to all of the activity/venues on decks 6, 7, and 8, a very easy location to get to know the ship.
  2. Great, thank you, we often do the Steakhouse the first night but I would like a different menu with different appetizers and soups/salads and desserts plus husband can still get steak so it’s Rudi’s for us in September.
  3. First/second night in Steakhouse you get either a free bottle of wine or 50% off bottle of choice. Is this also offered at Rudi’s?
  4. Spoke of our experience earlier. To be clearer will add this - i believe Platinum baggage is always ready about the same time the walk-offs with luggage start. So, we joined the walk-offs at about 7:30, (as we were walking towards the lounge we were to wait in, fun squad guy said to join walk-offs if we wanted to or we could wait til walk-offs ended), so off we went. All that to say, we didn’t have to haul our luggage off ourselves and we were off same time as those that did. Platinum does help! Need to add, glad to live in Florida and not have to figure out flights times like we used to.
  5. We had pretty much the same experience two weeks ago, except when heading to lounge came across fun squad guy who said all platinum luggage was ready and we could join the walk-offs if we wanted to so off we went, (never did make it to lounge so don’t know if they were still sitting there or not), caught Uber which was seamless and arrived MIA by 8:15.
  6. pdmlynek Seating time - dinnertime and always the same no matter the Port. We have no knowledge of MSC ship dinnertimes. In US “early” can be as early as 5:00 depending on size of ship and number of dining rooms. debnjoe1438 Chances of getting “early” - good - check cards on embarkation and speak to maitre’d (sp?) once on board if necessary - usually at one of the dining room entrances about 12/1ish - should specify in info you receive.
  7. Two weeks ago we walked from SC Seascape to Carnival Celebration, think we were C to F, worked ok, had to be careful, walked across road to parking garages where there are sidewalks, when we ran out of sidewalks crossed back over and slowly made way to final destination. All this to say you should be fine, just be careful.
  8. It was a first for us, we only ate in Dining Room once (we always enjoy the DR), but we enjoyed Chibang and Cucina so much we ate at both of them twice and had one dinner at Emeril’s. I asked when Chibang and Cucina on both Celebration and Mardi Gras would start charging a fee at dinnertime but no one knew. So wanted to take advantage when still complimentary.
  9. Shortly after restart I had a small pair of manicure scissors taken from my cosmetic bag (am sure if in suitcase would not have been seen and I was not trying to hide it as they travel everywhere with me) by an overzealous person who rifled through my purse then my cosmetic bag (I had no idea what he was looking for, he insisted I had a knife) and when he finally spotted my manicure scissors he held them up in the air and smiled and said “ah ha” - I couldn’t believe it.
  10. We found the Cucina dinner portions adequate (desserts delicious) and the Chibang portions at lunch adequate and at dinnertime ordered two mains (also with delicious desserts).
  11. Cucina for dinner is wonderful. We ate there two times. You do need to check in. Chibang is equally great and we ate there twice for dinner and once for lunch.
  12. 1. Formal nights - Dress slacks fine. Jacket not even necessary. 3. Dining Room - Husband has worn jeans in dining room for dinner. Breakfast/Lunch shorts are fine. 5. We nave always cruised out of F with MSC. (Uber from MIA to cruise port is about $26.00, used it two weeks ago. Cabs no longer have flat rate, meter only.) Love the Divina, our favorite MSC Ship, have sailed on her several times. Enjoy!
  13. Buffet, but in our experience it has always been excellent. Make sure you circle the buffet to see everything that is offered. And then head towards the back of the buffet area as few people will have walked that far, most stop at the first seat they see, and it will be more relaxing and a better place to find a seat.
  14. From my research it has always been said that the ships do a 180 prior to entering the channel to eventually dock, they back in through the channel, and then can cruise straight out. So yes, I would suggest it is 100% certain Starboard cabins are alongside pier/island. (I do realize someone said that there is a possibility that it is not 100%. I suppose anything is possible.) Have a wonderful cruise. Overnights at Ocean Cay are wonderful. If you have a beverage package it does work at the various bars which is great. (It is my understanding that beverage packages on other cruise lines do not work on their private islands. So this is a plus, especially with overnights and the fact that you may spend more time on the island.)
  15. Ocean Cay - starboard - even cabin numbers face Island.
  16. I was referencing the area outside the Havana pool area, the Havana bar does not require Havana Cabin proof. You could never sit by the Havana pool unless you had a Havana Cabin.
  17. We did the Inaugural TA on Horizon Inside Cabin and loved it. Your location sounds great for the deal you got. Wouldn’t hesitate to go. Cruising_Addic referenced the Havana area. It is true you cannot go in to that pool area but you can enjoy the lovely seating area just outside the Bar and the Bar area also, evening music there was great.
  18. We just disembarked Sunday, walk-offs with luggage started at 7:30, we are Platinum so were luggage tag #3 and were to be in specified lounge at 8:00 but as we headed there one of the Fun Squad said #3-5 tagged luggage was available and we could join the line of cruisers pulling their luggage and so we did. Got luggage, went through face recognition customs, got an Uber, were at MIA at 8:15, very surprised. Hope this helps. Please ignore above paragraph - we got off Celebration Sunday - so that all related to our Celebration disembarking. We disembarked from Seascape the Sunday before and walked down to Celebration to catch it. On Seascape we had to be out of cabins by 7:00 so left cabin and ate bkft in dining room and took time disembarking as we didn’t want to get to Carnival ship too early. So not a very helpful answer for you, sorry I was confused and gave you all that useless Carnival info.
  19. Our Uber ride Sunday morning from cruise port to MIA was $25.96 plus of course we tipped, driver picked us up within three minutes, was seamless. When we arrived at MIA we asked a cab driver the flat rate to the Port and he said trips are now metered. Used Uber at that time also.
  20. Just off Celebration, had intended to purchase an original “Tervis” tumbler with Carnival logo, asked at customer service who told me any bar, asked at several bars and not available, eventually got a beverage server who said they were only available on specific classes of ships, not Celebration, he was most knowledgeable, should be working at customer service - ha.
  21. Book 2nd cruise online, we did it and it worked fine. I would suggest it does no good to call an MSC agent to make sure they are aware of 2nd cruise. Simply go to Guest Services when onboard. Changing Cabins is no problem. You will receive paperwork as to what to do, very similar process that Carnival follows (it is the only one I can compare it to). You will be told when and where to meet and all the B2Bs will walk onto American soil/pavement in the Port building and circle back to ship. Room Steward will move bags for you, take a couple $1.00 TJMAXX bags to easily throw miscellaneous stuff into so you don’t have to take time to fit everything into your suitcase. Once back on board we waited a short time then went to new cabin to check on process, our bags were there already, cabin was done, so we moved in right away and unpacked. The big steel doors into the cabin hallways will be closed with a notice saying cabins will be ready later, open and head to new cabin anyway.
  22. Even numbered cabins side. Just off Seascape. For us this has also been true when on Meraviglia and Seashore and Divina and Seaside.
  23. Radio, looking forward to reading your “live” after we get home in a week. We are currently on Seascape (docked at Ocean Cay today as Costa Maya was cancelled due to winds) and disembark tomorrow when we will wheel our bags to embark on Carnival Celebration for a week. Enjoy your cruise. Thank you for doing an MSC “live.”
  24. Most recently we have found we have to ask where the Diamond Line is, very little signage, so don’t simply join long line, find an employee at front of line and ask.
