  1. Only going on watch channels we had on Carnival Radiance mid Aug Long Beach port. May vary by ship, or signal if where sailing. Our tv service and PA announcements went down for a sea day, sure glad beought my ipad and flash drive with movies. People complained of no tv service, but when they fixed PA and all the annoying announcements I was thinking…is it worth no tv to have no announcements 🤔
  2. Freeplay - say you have $100 freplay. For slots you get an account and code ro login first time to machine to activate. Then $100 credit. Ok say you bet $5, no winner. You have $95 freeplay, Next spin bet $5 but win $8. You now have $90 free play to use and $8 real money owed to you. One more $5 spin…ok now have $85 left in bank freeplay. But won $3 so now have $11 of money you can cash in that is real cash not credit. Hope this explains slots. Keep track of your free play as to know when you are out of freeplay or prevent using up your earned cash winnings. For table games awarded casino fun play chips. When you win they are exchanged for real casino chips worth real cash.
  3. We are sailing next week, and sailed many times from Long Beach. We used the WAZE APP to get to Carnival Terminal - (Qyeen Mary is alternate search) and of the routes it has recommended the going through downtown was easiest and simple. The far right lane can drop of luggage and people if need be. If not proceed left and go into garage. At 10:20 cruisers were exiting garage and it is a “two way” ramp. So a slow process nqvigating. I highly recommend looking for a break to turn i to ingoing traffic and back in. You will thank me when coming out of lot on way out. Also when you do exit to pay at end of cruise the right lane only has you pay, exit, no way to return back to drop off area, the left lane you can pay, exit and go left to pick up luggage or people curbside.
  4. Besides potential rough seas, check your Hawaii area destination seasonal weather temps & rainfall for month. My parents once sailed mid March and entire week around islands it rained, cold, wind. Said even skipped some stops as island flooded. Not sunny paradise for them.
  5. My booking at 0/2 1am is there, but was doing a purchase for cabin and it said maintenance right now until morning.
  6. We sailed mod Aug 2022, and arrival apt was 10:30am. We arrived with Seniors needing wheelchair assistance and were told go to checkin outside and let them know. Once there they called for wheelchair help. BUT there were a few aisles- appointments, and ai believe those not yet called. However they were calling come in over anyone can come in now. Yes no line outside or at first chexkin table- where they verify documents, boarding pass and vaccine cards. Then go through security, then checkin desk to get sign n sail photo taken and final check. Now Sit and wait. Benches were 3/4 full at 10:45. No special Platinum treatment, other than boarding after suites. So a hurry up and wait. Will sail soon so can double check procedures.
  7. Same here for Oct 10 Radiance- cannot get passed covid test “requirement for Verifly” Our cruise does not require it.
  8. Our Radiance spa raffle experience- We were fortunate to win on our Feb 28 Radiance cruise. The prize at the time was $500. We had more than one as given bonus entry for during tour. We must have been early spa visitor when put ticket in the gold spinning bin, it was nearly empty. Later came back with second entry and was near the top. FYI our cruise was listed as 1103 passengers. When the hype of drawing starting announcement drawing time they asked to passengers there should we offer more prizes? YES! So it was five awards. I scanned crowd size and guessed 115 present for drawing, I recall one necklace, a few trinkets, then 3 people spa credit. Kinda added up to $500, We were first called for $75, then a few trinket and jewelry and last draw most money. We said too bad they did more than one draw- we would have only been winner. But felt excited to win $75. Two names were called and new name drawn. So confirming yes present to win. We were able to use credit on any spa service. I read some posters reporting credit applying only to spa packages. On the Feb 28 early March cruise, we really enjoyed the spa and could walk up and book times on same day. In Aug on the same Radiance itinerary could hardly get any spa appointments- we were sailing in Aug 3174 passengers - so many cabins had more than 2 per cabin! . Quite the difference in passenger numbers onboard.
  9. I can confirm this as 9:00pm being on PST time.
  10. If you do not have any tumblers at home, I suggest Goodwill- there are shelves of them. I bring ones that do not leak when tipped over, or shaken. Also the insulated ones like Tervis and Hydroflask (my favorite brand) really keep items from sweating, and really keep beverage cold. We just use for juices or ice water.
  11. I can check on Oct 10th same cruise, I booked this since June cancelled day before as covid test was positive and I tested positive from Aug cruise even though fully boosted. Hoping for a for a healthy cruise.
  12. I searched Goodwill, and brought my own tray. I carry it in a canvas tote bag, but found I mostly used the tote bag for the silverware and my beverage tumbler with a leakproof lid. I also prepack packets of salt/pepper,sugar and ketchup packets for in cabin use or on areas far away from lido like the BBQ on aft ten of Radiance.
  13. There is no where I see it stated on PYO, but we did see a $2 service charge for beer we got there. I do wonder if they were having software issues, in early March on Radiance paid with card and the meter never moved but poured “free” ly 😉 but that helped make up for service fees from earlier pyo beers husband had. One machine was like this, other one acted normal.
  14. If you don’t mind, what cabin # interior did you have? Looking and wasn't sure of ones closer to bow, looked like under fitness area = noise.
  15. Sorry just saw this, Yes it was open for dinner, and this cruise everyday at lunch (lunch is much menu but free)
  16. Just off Carnival Radiance and decided to buy item for cabin with a Carnival gift card. Once I put gift card on my account to pay the website reported my balance on account. While on cruise, I noted my sign n sail was charged first and still had credit which was not refundable by cash at guest services, i stead they electronically emailed a new virtual Carnival gift card to us within a week. Spent that towards next booked cruise already!
  17. We have used emed tests usually, however my friend recently sailing Celebrity just did home test and was proctored online by using onpoint for $20. So if have home tests can use one of those but do not do test until monitored.
  18. For door noise- may not be up to “best safety procedure” but we rolled our biggest suitcase in front of door and threw luggage mat over it and put in front of vent. Really helped. Also would cover the two bathroom shower & floor drains with something to prevent any sewer smell.
  19. From Wed night Supreme of Poulet dish- cooking method done correct, as was presentation. Three of us dis not like it for the seasoning. However every ship and chef may have a different amount of spice. Even our salad dressings varied cruise to cruise. I already decided if can find dressing packets to bring next cruise. One item I did bring : Smuckers Magic Shell it was a great success. It was like making my own DQ sip cones but upright. It was just right like hot fudge too, not like Hershey syrup flavor.
  20. Notes on cruise disembarking with disabled senior parents using canes Long Beach Aug 25, 2022. Ship started disembarking at 7:30 clearance. Priority and Disabled needing wheelchair assistance was Lobby Level 3 Sunrise restaurant. Meeting time 7:45. We came down elevator at 7:35, walked in and saw folded wheelchairs stacked up. A passenger waiting said was told wouldn’t start wheelchairs until 8:30. The seniors decided could walk, taking it slow. Exited ship with just sign n sail card (Govt. ID later). Walked across gangway we came in on- at least only a very minor angle downward and short walk. Now back in terminal building that started cruise. To our left was elevator down. Luggage zones had not officially opened yet. We were directed across area and to a bench to wait. Guessing it was maybe ten min wait. Zones 1-5 luggage called as open. We all got up to prepare for exiting. After getting bags were told go back to other side (way across) and loop around in the now formed line. Knowing we had them and too many for us and manage them used a porter. He said we looked like we were in distress lol. He took all bags, headed out “porters” exit and we then zoomed passes security in a min. He took all bags, headed out “porters” exit and we then zoomed passes security in a min. He took us right to the drop off curb area, getting parents on bench. Said he recommended husband get vehicle, exit (paying)in left lane as it can come back around, bs right lane for paying does not. I tipped him and husband was back in five min. He said he was glad he had backed into spot as easier to merge into traffic betting out of parking. Parking is $23/day. We exited and in freeway by 8:14. The waze app directed us through downtown and was a smooth trip home. Smooth until I got home- I thought I had a sinus infection & headache hence going into Ensenada for an antibiotic. The last two days of cruise I was dragging and had a fever at night (yes I pack a thermometer 🤒- once a girl scout always prepared.) Spent most of time watching tv, husband brought food, ice cream to me. I can say the Funship that keeps giving. This was first time I let my guard down and did not wear m95 masks in public. After 2years of avoiding covid, and being exposed to husband having covid and sailing “with masks in Feb/March) I tested positive for covid after we drove home today. From Hill Street Blues - Let’s all be safe out there.
  21. Just a chime in on Carnival cruise gift cards, got off cruise today. I added my gift card to account before sailing. We had and umder $25 amount in credit left on account. Guest services said Carnival would mail a completely new gift card with credit balance in a few weeks.
  22. Just got off Radiance- no big issues other than people not realizing a cabin hallway especially at night is still what I call hotel hall voice level. Having vents in the door allows any conversations to radiate through. Especially if they stop near ones said door and chat at 2:30am! Another peeve- passengers eating in the hot tub on Serenity deck. First day observed a group eating fried chicken, pizza and drinks.
  23. A few photos from walk into Ensenada Main Street. After exiting terminal, go straight until teach the pedestrian bridge on your left along waterfront. Walk this u til reach central area by flagpole. Turn right and your back is now to water- you should see some small wood kiosks that are now closed. Keep going, pass the horse carriage rides, turn left walking on a bow busy Main Street traffic. This is the first photo. You can see a McDonald’s from here, second photo is standing across street from McDonald’s at pharmacy we use. We also this trip used Jose pharmacy on same side as McDonald’s up a bit towards all the shops/vendors. They had the z-pack we wanted in tablets not capsules. Both locations speak good English. view of ship from boardwalk (sidewalk) by waterfront.
  24. Just wanted to add link to the Carnival Radiance 4 day menus from this cruise: I could not get clear answer, but as soon as cross ship threshold ask- Team members in red shirts those to help. They all know where stations are.
  25. Just of Carnival Radiance, and asked room steward. Had robes by evening as were all being washed during the first day. Our robe style was the small raised bumpy checkered type. Not too soft really, but worked as a coverup to answer door. FYI my parents who are older seniors get cold a lot, and room steward brought them an extra comforter, and two plush really nice blankets, and a white cotton blanket.
