  1. Yes, you have it right. Doesn’t matter your method of booking.
  2. My son is on the Breakaway right now and says he is really and I mean really disappointed with the premium plus upgrade. Most liquors unavailable and also extremely restricted where you can get them. Only place you can get Veuve is in the dining rooms. We stayed in the Haven last spring and had a pretty good selection of top shelf liquor but I’m worried if you stay elsewhere your chances of getting your money’s worth is extremely limited. I have four upcoming cruises booked with the upgrade and I think I’m going to cancel them. Im not going to spend my time trying to hunt down something that I paid for.
  3. My son is on the Breakaway right now and has Vibe passes. The bartender said the ban is fleet wide. So yes it is indeed true.
  4. If I can give the OP some advice, always state what ship you will be on so posters can accordingly tailor their responses. We seldom get off the ship. There’s plenty of things to do on most ships and although some venues are closed until later in the day, including the casino and shops there’s enough things open to satisfy any food and booze cravings you may have. Although the MDRs are closed, the Local, buffet and the snack buffet in the Observation Lounge are open for breakfast and lunch. Many people enjoy watching movies on the big screen in the atrium and it might be the only time you can secure a nice lounger on the pool deck. It’s also nice exploring the ship without having to deal with crowds. We actually look forward to port days to simply relax in an uncrowded environment.
  5. What’s on the promo listing and what they have on the ship are two very different things. My guess is, if they have a third of what’s on the list, you’re doing really well. I bought the plus package for four upcoming cruises and I’m considering cancelling them. My son is on the Breakaway right now and reports that there is little premium booze available. As a consumer, all I want is what I pay for, period.
  6. The beds are a tad bigger than a queen. They are definitely not kings. Yes they have a white party on one of the evenings.
  7. I hate when threads get hijacked. What does all this have to do with a ban on serving mixed shots?
  8. My son is on the Breakaway right now and he told me the Vibe bartender confirmed that there is a mixed shot ban, fleet wide. I’m pissed. That’s half the fun of the Vibe experience.
  9. Got one each week on a B2B on the Meraviglia a few weeks ago. Chocolate bar instead of a chocolate ship however.
  10. You can order coffee and continental breakfast free of charge.
  11. I would upgrade to the Spa balcony. It’s a good deal.
  12. The standard wifi is terrible. The only thing that works is iMessage and FaceTime. When web surfing virtually nothing loads. Some of the ships are upgrading their systems. I guess we’ll see if there’s any improvement.
  13. I was one of the lucky ones who got matched to black (now diamond) with Platinum on NCL. So without ever cruising on MSC we were at the top of their loyalty program. Had to laugh, on our first cruise on the Seaside we were invited to the Black reception for our past loyalty … ok. We’ve been on five more MSC cruises since, all in the YC.
  14. We were on the Meraviglia on a B2B a couple weeks ago. We used our Diamond free meal at Hola both weeks. We could order anything on the menu and as much of anything as we wanted. 0ur Margaritas were also covered. We chose Hola because it was a nice break from more formal dining in the YC restaurant every evening. We really enjoyed it.
  15. I normally receive an email confirmation and an updated amenity form, but the last time I applied (via email), the OBC just appeared in my onboard account. Didn’t receive anything by email.
  16. Another tip for you. Either watch the show from the island or the outside starboard side of the ship. On our last cruise, we watched it from the YC pool deck at the front of the ship and although the site line was good, we could not here the music and as a result the show just didn’t have the same impact.
  17. Time changes with the itinerary of the ship. Starboard side.
  18. For some reason I missed your post (#6). Your response is very clear. Thanks for the info.
  19. Every time we book on board (YC) we receive $200 in OBC.
  20. So it’s one time per reservation. That’s what I wanted to know. Thanks. I guess I need to keep monitoring my future cruise bookings!
  21. What is MSC’s policy on compensation after a price drop after final payment. Has anybody been successful getting anything?
  22. I applied for a price drop adjustment last February and received a $660 FCC. The verbiage in the email stated that this adjustment was a one time gesture. It didn’t say for this particular cruise but I assumed it meant in general. Rethinking my assumption and that’s why I asked the question. Can you apply for an adjustment after final payment on different cruises or is it really just one time? If I am unable to request an adjustment any more there’s no sense monitoring the prices of my future ctuises after final payment.
