  1. I don’t believe no one has tried more than once.
  2. Are they still offering a $50 OBC in lieu of the latitude perks?
  3. Has anyone received FCC, or any other form of compensation, for a price drop after final payment more than once? I’m referring to different bookings. When I received a price drop FCC last year there was a note attached specifying this was a one time gesture of good will. Is that true?
  4. I just disembarked the Meraviglia after a B2B in the Yacht Club. What would you specifically like to know.
  5. Just got off the Meraviglia. Although we didn’t dine there this time, we did notice people checking in that were casually dressed. I’ve worn shorts and a polo shirt with no problem.
  6. I believe I misunderstood the question. I was referring to specifically upgrading the beverage package from premium to premium plus (not the bundle) with OBC on the ship.
  7. It depends on the ship. None on the Meraviglia. This inclusion should be standardized in all YCs but like everything MSC, it’s consistently inconsistent.
  8. We were on a B2B in a Joy Haven Suite. We pre purchased the first week to see if it was worth it. We liked it so much that we purchased the second week with OBC. The cost is simply added to your onboard account like any other purchase.
  9. Yes. You can use your OBC on board. We did it on the Joy.
  10. Basic internet works fine (10 times better than NCL).
  11. I’m cruising in the MSC Yacht Club right now and they don’t collect sales taxes at any port (I believe it’s 7% elsewhere on the ship). You also never have to show your card in the YC when ordering drinks.
  12. Spoke with him yesterday. He said he will be on the Meraviglia in December.
  13. Forgot to talk about the cabins. We have only stayed in deluxe suites (balcony cabins). We found the Meraviglia cabins and bathroom to be a tad smaller. The balcony was considerably smaller. On the Seashore there was room for two loungers and two chairs,. Don’t think you could even fit one lounger on the Meraviglia balcony.
  14. We have sailed in the Seaside and Seashore YCs and are currently in the Meraviglia YC. Here’s a highly subjective comparison of the three. The Seaside and Seashore are sister ships with a similar layout that I’m sure you are familiar with. The Meraviglia YC area is a little different. The restaurant does not overlook the Top Sail Lounge as it does on the other ships but is self contained on deck 18 with its own front facing observation window. The TS Lounge is smaller on the Meraviglia. The pool deck is also different. There’s no sit around bar as such on the Meraviglia. On the other ships, this bar was our go to spot in the afternoon. We also found service on the Meraviglia pool deck to be virtually nonexistent. The Seashore hot tub is bigger than the Meraviglia pool. We generally found the food better on the Meraviglia and the service in the restaurant was outstanding. We found the snacks in the Seashore TS Lounge to be pretty pathetic. They are quite good on the Meraviglia. Several posters mentioned the donuts that were available at the snack buffet during breakfast. Never had any until the Meraviglia and boy are they good. As I mentioned in another post you do not get a bottle of sparkling wine on arrival on the Meraviglia. You apparently do on the Seashore. Outside of the YC there are limited outside walking areas on the Meraviglia but it has a galleria with periodic light shows. We also enjoyed drinks at the Venchi chocolate shop on the Seaside/Seashore . The chocolate shop on the Meraviglia has coffee based alcoholic drinks rather than chocolate based drinks. Let’s face it, the YC experience on all three ships is wonderful but because of personal preferences we would select the Seaside/Seashore class ships over the Meraviglia. We are on the Meraviglia for another week so if you have any specific questions I’d be happy to try to answer them.
  15. We went to the Mexican restaurant, Hola! Tacos and Cantina, last night for our Diamond status free meal. You could order anything on the menu and as much of everything as you could eat. It was very, very good. I had the chicken burrito and my wife had the chicken quesadillas and then we split an order of beef quesadillas. People in the restaurant were literally filling their tables with food at the encouragement of the servers. Our diamond status also covered our margaritas and dessert. The regular price for this all you eat extravaganza is only $17.95. The ambiance is very casual but the food is great. We are going again next week.
  16. Thanks for sharing this info. I kinda feel embarrassed by my original post now. As I stated before, things have improved dramatically and I’m really looking forward to our second week.
  17. On the Meraviglia this week, we received a bottle of sparkling wine, macaroons, and two chocolate bars. No gift and no chocolate ship. The next night we received six, chocolate dipped strawberries. For YC, no sparkling wine and had to fight to get our bottle of liquor in lieu of mini bar miniatures.
  18. Things have improved quite dramatically in the last couple days. Seems like they’ve ramped up staffing levels in the Top Sail Lounge so drinks are getting served at a reasonable rate. After speaking with the YC director Alessandro Messina, most of my issues with the Butler have been resolved. Last night I probably experienced the best meal I’ve ever had in a cruise ship restaurant. Escargot for a starter, I ordered both the lobster tail and beef tenderloin for the main course (surf and turf) and crepes Suzette for dessert. Absolutely spectacular! Even the weather has improved.
  19. Yes. If you’re in the YC, the Top Sail Lounge bar.
  20. Yes, things have gotten better and some thinks we’re fine from the start. The restaurant has been great. Good food and excellent service. The show we saw last night “Cool” was very entertaining. Irina, the piano player in the YC lounge is very talented. The bartenders and servers in the YC lounge appear overworked at times but they are friendly and attentive. My main beef is with the inconsistency of how each ship delivers the experience. There should be one YC experience that transcends all ships, not a mix of policies and procedures that change depending on the whim of each ships’s management team. I was probably too harsh on my assessment of the crew but we had just returned from two venues where we were totally ignored. I’m not a negative person and I really try to ignore minor irritations but on the other hand, I want to get what I paid for.
  21. Yes. Spoke with him at lunch today. He said he will be on the Meraviglia until March. Had a nice chat with him. Seems like a really nice guy.
  22. Talked to the YC director today during the Captains reception and he said the ship was sailing at half capacity or about 2,800 people. He thought it would be about the same for next week’s cruise.
  23. I believe he is. I will confirm tonight.
  24. Yes, at 3:00 pm, after five attempts.
  25. I’m hoping to meet with the YC director.
