  1. If final payment date has not occurred yet, there should be no problem switching although the price and benefits may be different. If final payment date has passed, you can only plead your case that this is not the cruise you were promised and want to switch to a Princess cruise that does not have these problems.
  2. What other Production shows are on the Island?
  3. The default is will accept an upgrade. This flag is not accessible to the customer, so if you want to have it changed you must contact Princess (only if your booking is made with Princess) or your TA. To have it marked like this, you must contact who has the booking, your TA or Princess.
  4. They are equally competent in safely running a ship. Some are much better than others in crew motivation and some are much better than others in passenger interaction.
  5. Pre-pandemic people posted that the OBC was on the onboard account but did not have to be used for shore excursions no matter how it was labeled.
  6. On another thread, posters are saying they need to use the Internet on the last day before disembarking in Vancouver to do proctored Covid-19 tests for flying back to the USA. Do you think the Internet speeds you are experiencing will be sufficient for someone doing this?
  7. Unfortunately, your Princess ship will not be the only ship in most of the ports. The same shore excursion providers are used by all the ships. If Princess cannot make it to port as originally scheduled, the tour providers may not have any capability to provide excursions at the new arrival time.
  8. When the Princess high-speed Internet works, it is among the best at sea. One problem is as you go north, you get out of range of the high speed satellites and the Internet speed becomes much less. I do not know how far north the ship has to be to have the Internet slow down. Maybe someone can post if it is still high speed when in Vancouver or Victoria. If it isn't, it may not be able to support the monitored tests, especially if a number of passengers are trying to do it at the same time.
  9. Or an example of one hand doing the right thing and the other hand not.
  10. That "may not be permitted" in practice is just what the country/port visited requires. Princess itself does not prohibit you from going ashore on your own, only if the port does. It says "may not" because what ports permit can change at any time.
  11. From a recent brochure: Live like the VIP you are Doors unlock for you. Anything you need - a burger, a jacket, sunscreen - finds you. And everything seems to be just how you like it. Get the Medallion Class® treatment, only with Princess.
  12. One reason is attempting the impossible. Consider DMW for example. Traditional dining worked because an entire dining room was set up for exactly two seatings starting at fixed times with people having the same tables each night. Those who signed up for this and showed up at their assigned times were seated immediately (after first evening's delays due to leading everyone to their tables). DMW promises you can select your own fixed time for each evening when reality is that tables may not be available when you show up, much less the same table each night. That is because the same tables are used for those who walk up without a reservation at random times and those who have a reservation. Tables cannot be left unused for a period of time just because someone has a reservation 30 or 45 minutes later. Only those who reserve for when a dining room first opens can have a chance of being seated at the time they want. And that does not even include the promised option of selecting if you want the dining experience to be fast, normal, or slow paced. Can you even imagine the complexity of filling a table for 6 at 7:20 PM with diners with the same choice of dining speed and then having that table ready for the next reservation at ?:?? PM. Also imagine the stress on the servers who have different tables at different stages of the meal with different requested speeds for service.
  13. Your agent is not correct. See post below by Jmox84 for correct information Following post also confirms it is not a Princess requirement. (I like the attempt to push for a Princess excursion anyway).
  14. No need to wait. Just book a different Princess ship at a different embarkation port. This is the only ship with the propulsion problems.
  15. Lower number is 2 per cabin. Higher number is with all 3rd and 4th berths also occupied.
  16. Thanks. Now we know what smart phone hardware is needed for the app to perform as advertised.
  17. I do not have a cell phone (smart or dumb), but if I did have one, I would not be carrying it around on a cruise ship. I bring a netbook on board and use that for needed E-mails and bill paying. Also use the netbook to load, backup and label photos from a traditional camera. Using a cell phone to originate and reply to E-mails would be painful compared to using a computer with a real keyboard. I cannot refrain from having E-mail access during a cruise because of needed communication with tour providers and also communications from credit card companies that insist on questioning charges made overseas despite having been notified we will be traveling.
  18. What type phone and operating system level do you have? Also memory size? That can make all the difference between a working app and a %$*^#!# app.
  19. Also Princess has eliminated the small ships (such as Pacific Princess) from the fleet and can no longer offer the unique itineraries that helped male Princess special. Princess does send the larger ships to some of the ports the smaller ones used to go to, but the tourist infrastructure in many of those ports is not sufficient for the number of passengers on the larger ships.
  20. Also, at each port there will be less people from the Coral than there would be from the Majestic which will make the port less crowded which is always good.
  21. Some had posted on another ship that "cleaning" was listed on the form, but was told it was not actually available and all clothes would be washed. Hopefully "cleaning" still really exists.
  22. If the beef is very thin, that is on Princess.
  23. Or possibly the charge shows up on some other cabin's account.
  24. I always use a TA, but I can understand others who do not because most TAs have shorter hours than Princess has. Not all TAs have shorter hours. One TA I have used is open late almost every day. I was wanting to go on one sold out cruise when a vacancy showed up at 8 PM on a Saturday. A quick phone call secured that voyage for me.
  25. This is not up to Princess. What the statement is saying is that a port or country may restrict independent exploring to vaccinated passengers. This would happen no matter what cruise line was at that port that day. And since port restrictions are constantly changing, it is impossible to know in advance what ports on any itinerary may impose these restrictions when you cruise. Same as with masking. You may not need to on the ship, but some ports may require you wear a mask when on shore.
