That looks gorgeous. My mom has a large a/c condenser unit as well as full home generator right next to it on one side of her house. They built a little wall/fence around it but it doesn’t hide the units very well. I’ll suggest doing something like this to her.

I recently caught part of an episode - and along with the conversation here - could easily see myself getting sucked back in.

I'll have to rewatch some of the older seasons on Netflix. Season 1 probably seemed so innocent where people thought Survivor meant who could survive in the jungle the best, not who can survive lying, back stabbing teammates. Sue's snake-and-rat speech is legendary.

The Outback and Africa (Seasons 2 & 3 I think) were the best.

I had totally forgotten about Sue’s snake and rat speech in the season one finale. That was indeed legendary. Remember seasons 2 & 3 being great as well.

For example, they know when and where to look for individual immunity idols, food rewards (do away with those) that are allowed to take others, knowing there will be letters from home (give me a break they are away less than a month). Merges when numbers reach a certain level.

The show needs to go back to how it was in the earlier Survivor shows.

There only should be two going to the final to face the jury like in the past.

When they go to tribal, they should be voting immediately. They've had plenty of time to discuss who is being voted off before going to tribal.

I agree. I was a diehard Survivor fan for years but became very disenchanted when they started throwing in all the new “twists “ and stopped watching. The show, for me at least, became less and less of what it started out as and I lost all interest. I keep telling myself I’ll give it another shot someday but haven’t been able to so far.

As OB stated, they are "similar but different".  From my experience with administering these medications to patients in the hospital, Klonopin has a longer duration of action than Ativan.  A typical order will be for Klonopin every 8 hours or Ativan every 6 hours, for example.

I would definitely recommend discussing your options with your doctor, as OB also recommended.  It may be as simple as taking your Klonopin earlier in the evening so it wears off more by the time you rise in the morning, or lowering your dose (or both).  Or maybe a different medication altogether, on its own or in conjunction with another med (like a daily maintenance med plus an "as needed" med when the situation warrants.

But your doctor/provider isn't likely to offer you any different choices unless you bring up the issues you're having with your current medication.  Keeping a written record of your symptoms and the times/dosages of medication you've taken and the resulting effects of the medication is something I recommend to everyone (for any type of medication).  That way you can show it to your doc/provider at your next appointment and say, "when I do A, then B happens for X period of time", and they can have something concrete to work with to find you a better option.

I see my primary care physician twice a year, January and July, so I will address this issue at my July appointment . I did start taking the Klonopin a little earlier and that has seemed to help a bit. I’m still a little groggy when I get up but it’s nothing debilitating and I can still brush my teeth, shower etc without any problems. Many thanks to you and @Ocean Boyfor your comments and advice.

So its been a busy few days away and I've just caught up.

After our first outing on the boat last weekend and looking after the grands on Tuesday we took the opportunity to have a few days away in Cornwall.

We stayed just outside Mevagissey in The Cornwall Spa Hotel.  It was very nice but had large tour groups from Germany and USA on two of the three nights and the staff were overwhelmed in the kitchen and restaurant, with dinner on the first night taking three hours.

On our first full day we went to Perranporth where my Paternal grandmother lived and where we spent most of our holidays growing up.  Then went into Mevagissey where other relatives lived for dinner.

The surf was up and there were about 20 people surfing, but as the water temperature was about 13c I just paddled

This was the spot where the author of the Poldark novels had a beach but and wrote his books

Great pictures. Between yours and @grapau27 Graham’s pictures I’m amazed at how beautiful some of the beaches and the color of the Sea in the UK are. I’ve been to the UK but never been to a beach there. Will have to put that on my must do list 🙂

Thanks to community group phone chats we discover that Princess was visiting us from a farm a mile away. She’s a year old female who took a road trip from neighbours to the east.

They came and picked her up, and Lucy was happy to see her go. Better yet, they also left us some maple syrup from our trees that we let them tap. A win-win for Lucy and us.

So happy it all worked out well but I was kind of hoping Lucy would end up with a new brother or sister to hang out with 😁

I’m not a man, but Dave and I do the same.  Years ago we stopped doing any gifts.  We take our 2 adult sons on a vacation each year.  They take us out to dinner.  It has made Christmas so much more enjoyable, and without gifts we seem to focus more on the reason for the season.  If/when we have grandchildren I’m sure things will change.

I couldn’t just like this I LOVE this

  8. @Ocean Boyif you don’t mind me asking a medical question I was prescribed Ativan as needed for occasional anxiety and insomnia which seemed to be working pretty well. Dr switched me to Klonopin as my personal issues which I won’t get into became more difficult. I know they’re both benzos and assumed the effects would be similar but whenever I take Klonopin before bedtime (which is also when I would take Ativan) I’m very groggy and a little loopy for a few hours after I get up which never happened with Ativan. Is that just me or do they work differently?

  9. I’m from the northeast and have only sailed from Galveston twice but loved the Texas crowd, vibe and especially the accent and sayings we don’t use. Might have actually said “y’all” and “fixin to go ashore” a few times myself 😁

+1.  Thank you Debbie and All Nurses.

Couldn’t agree more. I lost my dad in March after an 8 year battle with Alzheimer’s dementia. The nurses, from the hospital to the nursing home and hospice care were angels. They are far under appreciated. I’ll never forget the care they provided for my dad and comfort for my mom, sister and myself.

    Good afternoon.

It is 68°F and sunny now at 17.25pm.

We went to the beach and had some chips then went further along the road and watched the Newcastle to Amsterdam DFDS cruise ferry leaving Newcastle.

Beautiful pictures Graham. The color of the water looks more like the Med or Caribbean, would have never guessed it was the North Sea 🙂

You can see in this photo.

Our conservatory is the first building and our Summer house around the corner.

They are both attached to our house.

We can access the conservatory from inside and outside but the summer house ( Garden room) is accessed from outside only.

You really have a lovely home and grounds. It know it will look even more beautiful when summer gets into full swing. I am a big fan of natural light as well and the summer house looks gorgeous.

I have not heard he is officially gone. Last I heard he and Daisy were shooting episodes for the newest season. Unless something else has changed I am not sure what is going on. I know Colin will not be back as he is sailing around the world and has his own YouTube channel. Sure would like to find out what is really going on.

Well if they do bring Gary back I won’t be watching. While I still enjoy many aspects of Below Deck it unfortunately has gone down the same path as many reality shows where it seems to be all about young, attractive people getting drunk and hooking up and watching the ensuing drama.

Below Deck Med is coming back early because of all the issues with Gary from Below Deck Sailing Yacht.  They were filming season five with Gary as part of the cast when sexual assault allegations were filed against him from a makeup artist.  He has posted on another social media site, laying in a field of daisies, saying that he was "cancelled because of a lie". Captain Glenn has posted recently that he will be back in 2024 but nothing more than that.  Not sure if they totally reshot a new season or what as they are all under NDA's.

Interesting. I had heard about the allegations but had not heard anything new. Gary is a predator and should have been gone from the show years ago. Currently Ben on BD reminds me of Gary. Maybe not as creepy but way to handsy on the stews.

Thank God Gary is gone. Apparently he’s still in denial about his disgusting behavior. Totally agree with @Sea Dogabout both Gary and Ben. Luka, who I really liked at first was also getting a little creepy in the way he was acting towards the stews. As far as I’m concerned I don’t care if they don’t bring back BDSY at all. I’ve never been a big fan.

It was a beautiful day for hiking today, so we traveled to Nelson-Kennedy Ledges State Park in Ohio. They had four short trails.  One listed as easy, two listed as moderate, and one listed as extreme.

There were quite a few large sandstone rock formations that made for an interesting hike.  We hadn’t watched any videos or researched the trails prior to jumping in.

On the extreme trail, we made it through the fat man’s peril.

    IMG_0915.thumb.jpeg.a54b7791c4500758f69796b1aa65da62.jpeg

The trail kept getting narrower, and we got to the portion appropriately named “the squeeze”.

    IMG_0919.thumb.jpeg.f250cfbd47520784f5b086abc9fea864.jpeg

When you got through the squeeze, you ended up in the devil’s ice box.  The way out is straight up the rock wall where you can see a little daylight about 15-20 feet up. I had to climb up to a ledge, help Susan up, and repeat until we made the top.

There were a couple waterfalls along the trails.  This one was at the end of an easy trail.

    IMG_0912.thumb.jpeg.4426a7a12e63581651cf3451c4c9a024.jpeg

Our last trail at this park took us on a moderate path.  Through the “dwarf’s pass”

    IMG_0921.thumb.jpeg.8e523339778691c6879d94c6420be62b.jpeg

And on to find the waterfall at the end of this trail.

    IMG_0923.thumb.jpeg.a9e3ed9599c5a90463f029f4bd09eb0b.jpeg

If you look at the top right of the photo, you can see someone sitting at the top of the rock, so it gives an idea of scale.

One neat thing was the the gold miner’s cave that was behind those falls.

Beautiful pics but that second one practically gave me a panic attack just looking at it. No way would I have been able to even attempt that and I’m a pretty skinny guy!

Very nice, looks much better on your walls than on the little sample patch. Happens a lot both ways. I redid my downstairs half bath last year and the lvp flooring I had installed came out much darker than it appeared in the sample. I wasn’t too happy at first but it’s grown on me.
