I actually have Allure's 1st cruise out of PC on hold... just because there were some good prices last week and it sort of fits my wife's schedule. Waiting for her to decide; she has until Tuesday.

Me either and not sure I'd know the difference once I dipped them into my sauce of choice, lol.

I hope you're right and I'm wrong but I fear the opening prices may not be as great of a deal as you are used to and expecting.

Sounds odd. Only did one B2B ever but we met and hung out in a lounge while everyone else disembarked. Hope turnaround goes smoothly! BTW, I'm sure you know this, but I saw you mentioned "losing internet" today. You can take your phone off airplane mode and just use cellular while sitting in the port. You just need to switch back to airplane mode when you set sail.

Why would pulling a piece of paper out take longer than pulling a phone out?

Correct. Many choose the latest time to leave the early times for those who actually want & need them.

Great! And thanks for the other machine info. I'll risk the overflow, lol. After zooming in on the pictures, Wonder has an "XT4" and Allure has an "XT5" so there's the slight difference. Can't really think of anything else to ask about (and still don't think we'll end up going so probably shouldn't). Anything you feel like sharing is of interest to me, especially food info/reviews.

Interesting. That doesn’t look exactly like the newer one on Wonder… As long as it’s new & functional I’ll figure it out. Don’t know your drink of choice but one thing I liked about that one was a +1 button that would make your drink larger so it filled the paper to-go cups. I drink cappuccinos & a single cappuccino isn’t very large. Did you happen to notice anything like that? More importantly (to me), any idea if it’s available in the early morning hours (like 6am)? I know it “should be” but I’ve run into a few cruises where it’s down for cleaning/servicing until 7am. No issues on Wonder though. Obviously not asking you go to the DL at 6am to check, lol, but just in case you’re a member of the early riser club.

People certainly have mattress preferences but mattresses can also vary greatly from cabin to cabin on the same ship. We had two different cabins on Indy last year, 6 doors apart, one mattress was fine (medium firmness IMO), the other hard as concrete.

If I get on, I may eat different food than you, but I’ll eat plenty of something... I always do. 🤣 Glad to hear your positive reviews though. Indeed! That would be a huge pain in the ass.

I'm not sure we're doing the MDR at all if we do wind up going on Allure but good to hear. I have some tentative plans but don't want to get my hopes up or pressure my wife. I'm assuming it's a no and hoping to be wrong, lol.

Living an hour from PC, I used to do it somewhat frequently (most not super last minute though one was 20 days out). That was before there were assigned arrival times though and there were more deals to be found back then. The late boarding time is a downside (although you could always show up earlier if you want to risk having to wait) and with current pricing being a bit nuts, I started booking much farther out... this one just happened to be a good price on a weird schedule that allows my wife to not have to miss much work. It's a 5-nighter, WED-MON, and there's no school that Friday. She can go back to school straight from the port when we disembark that Monday (doesn't sound fun to me but she did it once last year). Sometimes ya do what ya gotta do for the love of cruising (although she has so many vacation days saved up she doesn't have to, she just prefers to).

No reason to judge them anyway but totally understandable. We always have the earliest time at PC (10:30) and even boarded earlier than that last cruise. I really like boarding as early as possible. Others don't care as much and that's fine too. We have a last minute cruise on hold for next month while my wife figures out if she can go. If we do, we'll wind up with a later time. I've made peace with it and will just be thankful if I get to go on an "extra" cruise since we normally only sail during summers and spring break do to her teaching schedule.

Beats the view of the sunrise from my house. Waiting for my wife to decide on that Allure cruise next month is rough.
