  1. Working fine for me as well this morning after issues yesterday/last night.
  2. It's a common complaint on Oasis class (never really bothered me personally). They redesigned it a bit on Wonder and it's quite nice.
  3. I had a fine time on Indy for 11 nights last year but I do prefer Oasis class. We rarely do short cruises anyway so not a huge deal for me. I do currently have Allure's first cruise from PC on hold though (a 5-nighter) just because it had a pretty good price and it mostly fits my wife's schedule... just waiting for her to make the final call; she has until Tuesday. I was going to book a B2B on Utopia for spring break 2025 but even Wonder was significantly cheaper so I just went back with Wonder since they're nearly identical ships. Hopefully we'll fit in a Utopia cruise at some point.
  4. I understood it was from the other woman. 👍 Switching you without notification of any kind and then giving you an ultimatum as far as use it outside or lose it... just terrible customer service, no two ways about it. They let you book Wednesday 5pm, that's on them!
  5. I need something to fill the gap between summer and spring (that's why I'm trying to get my wife to agree to this last minute Allure cruise next month, lol). But I'm sure I'm not alone and if you started a thread titled "Allure semi-live report" or whatever I bet you'd have tons of followers. Either way, I'll be reading. That's certainly odd (and would be problematic for my wife, although she does eat turkey). Chicken is kind of like what she'll eat if she doesn't particularly like anything else (that's why we mostly stopped going to the MDR over the years, she was ordering the boring classic grilled chicken just b/c she wouldn't eat anything else 4-5 out of 7 nights due to pickiness). Even stranger. There's an ongoing thread about this right now (and it seems to come up a lot). It's not my preference for when I turn D+ but I can't fault them for enforcing a policy that has been right there in writing all along. I just want consistency. Your suggestion makes sense although they would have to amend it on certain ships/itineraries. My last 2 7-nighters out of PC (Harmony 2022, Wonder in June) stopped at CocoCay on day 2 so night 3 is 1st formal night. Same thing for the next 3 Wonder cruises I currently have booked. I don't care about formal night in the MDR but I stuff myself on CocoCay, lol, so I wouldn't want specialty dining that night. But it is what it is. I'll be happy to have my D+ perks in whatever form and we'll make it work. If limited to night 1 and 2, we'll likely just use 1 BOGO on night 1 and not even use the other but that's fine. We know we like Mason Jar (preferably brunch though) and we want to try Giovanni's Kitchen but that's it.
  6. That's why they used to have "First Night, Done Right" where night 1 was BOGO for everyone, regardless of status. We took advantage of that almost every cruise when it existed. Now that I'm finally approaching D+, I'm hoping to have the success most people do with regards to booking any night they want. We'll have a plan A and a plan B depending on the answer we get when the time comes.
  7. It wasn't meant to be serious but I think you know that. I understand the shock factor no matter what you were wearing.
  8. How often do you go out there without... nevermind. You do you! 🙈
  9. Blasphemy! Don't you speak ill of that machine! (He says having just finished a cup of Walmart's finest brewed in his Mr. Coffee). Enjoying the trip report btw, even if most of it doesn't apply to me. Please keep sharing if you feel like it.
  10. Mattresses can very greatly on the same ship. We had two different cabins on Indy last year... that were only six cabins apart. One was hard as concrete... the other perfectly fine.
  11. Glad to hear everything non-Chops is mostly going well. I actually have Allure on hold for when she gets to PC next month… just waiting for my wife to figure out if she can go. She has til Tuesday.
  12. I know this was an attempt at sarcasm but I love getting to the WJ as soon as it opens on embarkation day. It's not crowded for a little while as many people have not boarded yet, many who have are wandering around, booking things, exploring, etc. Everyone has their preferences but I enjoy my embarkation lunch there (I just miss the paella). That said, it obviously does get quite crowded after a time. That's when I usually go find something else like a kummelweck from Park Cafe.
  13. Nah, it's a hop, skip, and a jump... especially if you're only coming from Florida and flying into Fairbanks. 🤣 Trip of a lifetime for us but the travel days. 🙈 We ended our 18 day land/sea trip with a red eye from Vancouver by way of Chicago. As the plane was descending into Chicago in the early AM we swore we heard meowing. My wife and I swore we were hallucinating from exhaustion until we finally realized the girl behind us had a cat in a carrier. To the cat's credit, it was silent the entire flight until then.
  14. My exact experience in June (was treated to a GS by a generous family member). It was amazing. That said, while I didn't frequent the included venues as I normally do since were taking advantage of the suite perks, I'm very much looking forward to going back on Wonder and cruising frugally, like we normally do.
  15. Exactly. "To each his own" sums up cruising for me. So many options.... ships, food, activities. It's only logical that different people have different preferences. The Allure we have on hold is actually a weird 5-night WED-MON cruise that goes to CocoCay and Labadee, which we like, but it was really the fact that it was a good deal and my teacher wife can possibly swing it without taking too many days off work (school is randomly off that Friday). We rarely take short cruises but did do a 3/4 B2B last July and had no issue whatsoever with the atmosphere and we are definitely not party people. It felt like any other summer cruise to us. Lots of families, Solarium was pleasant, CocoCay was enjoyable as always, etc. It's unlikely we'd do it again unless the price was right but I'm not opposed to it.
  16. Glad everyone has so many options to suit their preferences here. I love Wonder and have no interest in taking the train (or any vehicle) down to South Florida when I can drive an hour to PC. Also trying to sneak in an Allure cruise next month when she gets here if wife can make it work.
  17. FWIW, someone elsewhere who was just on Mariner in the past 2 weeks reported no more embarkation day lunch in the MDR.
  18. I feel there is at least somewhat less sound insulation from a connecting door than a wall with no breaks in it. I don't have the science to prove it of course. If you disagree, that's fine. Yes, super noisy neighbors would be heard through a solid wall... and guest services would receive a call if they were THAT loud.
  19. Thanks, that's great to hear. I'm guessing it's the machine I used on Wonder (it was a new one I had never seen before). And I really appreciate when the snacks are good. They were amazing in the SL on Wonder (didn't visit the DL b/c we were being treated to a GS but I've heard it was mostly the same stuff) so I was hoping they were back to being good on other ships. The DL snacks on Indy last year were the worst I had ever seen.
  20. That would be my answer. I had one last year and didn't hear a thing but I'm sure if our neighbors were loud we would have heard them.
  21. Same here. Definitely an IT issue. Shocking given how reliable the RC IT department is.
  22. A month is nothing... I've looked at menus for my March cruise, lol. Ditching the roll and just eating the coconut crusted lobster patty like a crab cake is another good option if you don't to waste room on bread when you could be eating lobster and filet.
