  1. If you're just worried about location, it will just be personal preference type stuff. You'll be closer to some stuff now and farther from other stuff, otherwise not a ton of difference although being Oasis class, it's obviously longer from end to end. We tend to stay either forward or aft, been on every Oasis class except Symphony, never had an issue. I actually have 4 future cruises booked on Wonder, all are forward, just slightly higher decks. We chose forward b/c of the interior layouts. I saw several videos of aft interiors and they didn't even have a small couch, just a chair. Forward interiors seemed to have the more usual layouts.
  2. It’s a weird room for sure and could be much nicer. I don’t care about my cabin, hence the interiors, but I did think that category in general was interesting.
  3. Location is subjective. If you don’t want to be on deck 3, take the above advice and switch to another available cabin in the same category if there are any (assuming you booked from the US, some other countries don’t allow it). Call RC if you booked direct or have your TA do it if you used one. Personally, I wouldn’t want to be on deck 3. I prefer to be somewhere in between the pool deck & promenade so it’s not a bad walk up or down to the places I frequent, I try to avoid elevators when possible. Plenty of others may like deck 3 though.
  4. Don’t confuse OV Panoramic with Panoramic Suites. We tried to Royal Up to an OV Panoramic from an interior on Indy last year, only reason I know about them. No suite perks, just a cool looking room with a view.
  5. Same experience on Wonder last month.
  6. Oasis class ships are so large that it takes significant movement to feel anything anywhere. Most cruises I may not even feel the ship move more than once or twice the whole week. Unless you're extremely concerned about known sea sickness, I wouldn't worry about staying there.
  7. I've liked some better than others, but in my whopping 2 experience in Sky Class (one last month when we ate in CK all 7 nights on Wonder) I've enjoyed my meals there as well.
  8. Wonder was only tolerable to me b/c TA group rates weren't "terrible" and I just had to accept that everything costs more. I also can't put an exact $ amount on it, but since PC is an hour drive for us, we place quite a bit of value on the convenience factor (then there are real world savings like gas, your time, etc.). Forget that we never fly (for which I'm very thankful), I won't even drive to South Florida, lol. All that said, if I compare the prices I got to the current website prices (apples and oranges of course), the differences are mind boggling.
  9. The wording I saw made it sound like it was so you wouldn't have to worry about vouchers going "poof" at midnight if you were out late drinking on any night, not that it had anything to do with disembarkation day. In the end, we're back to the same issue. It's just way too ambiguous when it doesn't have to be.
  10. This isn’t really a discussion of “should”, the issue is sometimes they are & sometimes they aren’t, & all RC needs to do is add one line to the C&A perks letter that says you will or will not receive vouchers on disembarkation morning.
  11. Agree 100%. We won't go back until we're ready to pay for another long land portion like the 10 days we did on our only Alaska trip in 2018 before a southbound cruise.
  12. That's great! I only recently began booking farther out. Before prices went nuts, I used to get good last minute deals for the summer (when we're able to sail and flexible since we live an hour from PC). Once I saw that wasn't going to work anymore, I pivoted to TA group rates and I'm pretty happy with the Wonder prices I got having only booked over the past few months mostly for March-July 2024. They're only interiors and some, like next spring break, are like $1800 higher if I mock book via the RC website. Craziness.
  13. You can't, no worries. Just hope you feel better about being able to see the shows now.
  14. We explained that to her in her other thread. Not sure why she started another.
  15. Interesting. I always use the website as it seems to be the lesser of two evils, at least for reservations. I only prefer the app for grabbing a check-in time at midnight.
  16. If you like new stuff, don't blame ya for going for it... and only one way to find out about the hype.
  17. Weird that it would differ from ship from ship but good to know. My BIL/SIL will be on Oasis next March so I'll give them a heads up if it's still the same way. I know my SIL (the planner) would be sitting there wondering where the heck the comedy show was, lol.
  18. Is Harmony suddenly different from other Oasis class ships? Adult comedy was reserved pre-cruise with all the other shows on Wonder for last month.
  19. Mid-40's here but have no kids and are fairly boring so that's kinda close, lol. As I love to eat on cruises, the added food venues on Oasis class are a big draw to me. Park Cafe is great in the early AM for an egg sandwich or lox & bagel. I also enjoy their paninis and the kummelweck (roast beef sandwich) for lunch or a snack. They have a nice salad bar too but that's too healthy for me. Central Park itself is actually a very nice spot to spend time, especially in the morning and evening. My family enjoyed Sabor for dinner one night last year (many prefer lunch there). Great guac, apps, and dessert. Entrees weren't as good but didn't matter to us as we kept ordering refills of the apps. Solarium Bistro is a unique place to try dinner. It's free but requires reservations. It's half buffet but entrees are brought to your table. Very Mediterranean with some interesting item which won't appeal to everyone... but it's free so I'd try it. You can also have breakfast here but it's basically a smaller version of the WJ. It used to be less crowded but that may not be the case anymore. It was packed on Wonder last month (worse than WJ). Obviously you should see the aqua show. That's what popped into my head for now. Honestly... I'd watch a ship tour on YouTube and/or read about all it has to offer and try everything that you've never done before (at least the free stuff). Hope this helps. We have no problem with Freedom Class but definitely prefer Oasis Class and it has zero to do with kid-friendly activities.
  20. That's exactly what I asked before ordering and was told on Indy last July... "of course, you each have 4 vouchers." If they had said no, I would have said thank you and walked away. Please stop telling others what they experienced. Things vary by ship, things change over time, not all ships change at the same time, etc. Cafe Promenade was where I asked the question and where I ordered iced coffees and bottled water from after being told we had vouchers. This will be my last post on the subject b/c there was already a very long thread on the subject a while ago which I also wisely dropped out of.
  21. Not this again. Have fun debating day 8 and vouchers. That discussion has more than run its course.
  22. Kind of annoying since it should be very simple for RC to state the policy in plain English but it is what it is. Not actually important to us, personally. On that one B2B I just got a couple iced coffees at Cafe Promenade because I could (would normally save my vouchers for alcohol) and my wife got a few extra bottled waters for the 2nd half.
  23. Not really what you asked, I’ve only ever sailed RC & only been to Alaska once. That said… If you can afford it both time & budget wise, I would do a one-way and spend as much time on land as possible (before the cruise is my preference). We spent 10 days on land traveling from Fairbanks down to Seward (on our own with the help of an outside company) before a Radiance southbound (very long trip report in my signature). Nothing against the cruise but it was the land portion that contained most of the highlights for us. This was also a milestone special trip & we spent way more than our usual frugal 7-night Caribbean cruise when we drive an hour to PC but it was amazing. At the very least, I would try to add on some sort of pre-cruise land tour if you do go with a one way. Happy planning!
