  1. This. It can even BE dinner. Wonder had great breaded shrimp during happy hour last month and I wasn't in love with the CK menu that night so I think I had about 20 before we sat down, lol.
  2. Yes. Watch a video if you haven't. The suite lounge and CK are basically one big room. Technically those are SL perks but the SL bar is right there. No reservations accepted for breakfast or lunch. Just walk right in. The lobster dish in CK contains pieces of poached lobster in a sauce. It's not a whole lobster or lobster tail like in the MDR. You can view the menus in the app. FWIW, we enjoyed the CK lobster but there's not much lobster in the dish. That said, I'd much rather eat in CK than the MDR. Hope that helps. I skipped the 1st couple questions b/c I don't really know the answer. Maybe someone else will.
  3. Same for us, although I understand not wanting to be directly under the pool area. Our general preference is near an elevator/stairs, fairly high, but I like to be somewhat in between the pool deck and promenade so I can take the stairs in either direction during busy times (and not feel like I'm dying like when I walked up from 6 to 17 after an aqua show last month b/c the elevators were stupid crowded, lol). I'm not overweight but exercise is not my thing. Again, it's personal preference. The only location I would truly hate would be a very low deck but some people prefer them.
  4. It's all about personal preference. Some won't care, some will care so much they wouldn't risk winding up in certain locations. You said yourself that you're "somewhat particular" about your location. Only you can decide if it's worth the risk for you. If you feel being in any of the JS locations you mentioned (deck 6 or 14) would ruin your cruise, it doesn't seem worth the risk to me, but only you can decide that.
  5. We have a small collection still in plastic in our junk drawer after kicking butt at trivia last year, lol. We won some different items last month but it all went to my young nieces who were with us.
  6. No, in fact you have to go get one yourself if you want one (free to use). No one will make you wear one. That said, according to my wife (who has run marathons and used to teach swimming and is in pretty good shape), it's a fairly far swim if you want to get all the way out to the shipwreck and she recommends them if you plan to hang out for a bit out there. Her other comment was that they help you float above the nurse sharks in the event you encounter one, lol. (Yes, there are actually some small sharks. She's seen a nurse shark by the shipwreck and a lemon shark by the OTW cabanas.) I passed along her info b/c she's the snorkeler. I grab a drink and sit under an umbrella while she does her thing.
  7. Both 3-night and UDP are available for my March, June, and July Wonder sailings.
  8. Yes, you would have to pay for mats. There are towel stations on the island just like at the pool on the ship, so no one needs to bring them... we prefer to, however, so we can head right to our favorite spot and not worry about grabbing towels there.
  9. Got ours as usual last month on Wonder. Sounds like someone just dropped the ball in this case.
  10. You can ask to switch to any available cabin in your exact category if that helps.
  11. I probably mentioned this before, but now that we book farther out with a TA and get to choose our cabin (for significantly less than GTY's on the RC site), part of me misses the anticipation of finding out where we have been assigned. Then I remember the one time we almost got stuck in a location we really don't care for and the fact that ships are sailing so full... and I'm happy to have chosen my cabin, lol.
  12. They can wait until very close to your sail date to assign you. When you try the bar code trick tomorrow you may see "GTY" instead of a cabin number. Not trying to be a downer, just going off what I know. That said, the RoyalUp process is quite mysterious and the assigning of GTY's is also full of variables who knows?
  13. Looking forward to hearing what you get. Nice to see some people are still finding random great deals. Being mostly restricted to spring break and summer and choosing to only sail from PC out of convenience, I'm happy to get anything I now consider reasonable on Wonder. I've given up on actual deals, lol. Of our many interior GTY's... we got a virtual balcony once, lol. Huge upgrade, I know. Now that they have RoyalUp, it's unlikely to get a significant upgrade IMO. They'll "sell" the suites to bidders and give you your balcony.
  14. There's enough to do for us but definitely less than a sea day. I'm fine with the trade off.
  15. You say wasted, I say it gets people off the ship so many of us can treat it like a sea day with less crowds. To each his own.
  16. Bit of both I would guess. I'm always focused on June/July and I know September/October can yield some pretty low prices so the prices probably decline historically as the summer ends and fall begins, putting August in between.
  17. It's better than July. Schools starts as early as early August in some states (like Florida). Other states won't have gone back yet. If your goal is to avoid kids, you should wait until after Labor Day.
