  1. I know that. That wasn’t my question. I can find other lines that go to key west during winter, I was just curious why Royal Caribbean didn’t.
  2. yes, we’ve been going there since about 1990, my dad sold his condo in key colony in 2017. The keys are WAY too hot in the summer months.
  3. Trying to plan a girls week cruise with my sister to gift to our mom for Mothers Day. We all love Key West and would love to have it as a stop, but no RC cruises go there when we can go, which is December, January, February. Might some be added? Am I missing something? No one wants to go to key west in the summer, lol.
  4. We went out with Island Wings last year and it was amazing. The plane is small, yes, but the ride was smooth the day we went. We landed on a lake out in the middle of absolute nowhere and got to get off the plane and wander around and take amazing pictures. Highly recommend them.
  5. Personally, If I were you I wouldn't waste your money going to Alaska. Spa use is the very last thing on my mind when in alaska, and there's no way I'd be skipping out on excursions. Unless you're just really overworked and tired and need a week to rejuvenate, but even then, you can do that for 1/3 of the price on a Caribbean cruise.
  6. Thanks all. I priced a 2 bedroom suite vs. 2 connecting balcony staterooms and the 2 balconies was about $3000 cheaper. So we'll probably just go with something like that.
  7. lol, yeah, I'm definitely not sharing anything for a week. I'm barely ok enough to share a whole house with my husband.
  8. My sister and I are looking to plan a cruise for ourselves and our mom next year. We have always sailed on RCCL, so would like to stay with them, but I'm having a hard time trying to figure out if there are any 2 bedroom staterooms? Are they all suites? And does RCCL ever do single person pricing? Point being, I don't want to share a room with anyone lol.
  9. The food truck area in Juneau. The best halibut fingers, and a crepe from the Alaskan Crepe Escape.
  10. I know you don't want to get on another flying machine, but we did the float plane over Misty Fjords and wow!! It was amazing! We landed on a lake out in the middle of absolute nowhere and got to get off and explore. Both times we've been in Ketchikan we had absolutely gorgeous weather with no rain, so I know we got lucky. But being out on that lake in the middle of nowhere was seriously magical.
  11. The "food truck" area in Juneau. Best halibut fingers, and a crepe from Alaskan Crepe Escape for dessert. The best food is most certainly not on the ship. Ship food is fine, but I want local food. Ask your excursion operators where they like to eat, and go there. It doesn't have to be the touristy places that everyone goes to.
  12. Skagway is our favorite port! Except besides dinner at the brewing company on our last cruise, we’ve never actually spent any time there. We pick up our rental car and hit the road as soon as we’re off the ship. Also, Hubbard glacier isn’t a port, it’s a glacier. The captain will sail as close as he can to it, but on a clear day, it’s spectacular! We’ve managed to get there twice on gloriously beautiful days and there’s nothing like it.
  13. I was just on the K2 website and am leaning towards them. Reviews are great and it seems like they have a great operation. Next question. If we arrive at ANC on the bus from Seward at 12:30, what would be the best time to do the flightseeing if we wanted to do it that night? K2 has 4 pm and 6:30 pm as their later flights.
  14. Any thoughts on McKinley Creekside cabins? Also looking at one night in Talkeetna, and doing a flightseeing tour from there, before heading to Denali.
  15. Option C- a one way Inside Passage either to or from Vancouver, ending or starting in Seward. Great port times, you can add land time on in alaska either before or after the cruise, great scenery on both sides of the ship nearly the whole cruise.
  16. In 2018 we rented a car from Avis but saw many side roads we wanted to take but in a regular car, didn’t do it. Last year we rented the jeep and it also had the binder with mile markers and the recording and a packed lunch. Really glad we went with the Jeep since a car definitely wouldn’t have made it to lewes lake. We stopped everywhere we wanted to, for as long as we wanted or just to snap a quick picture. It’s one of our favorite places.
  17. wherever we need to. Doesn’t matter to me.
  18. I'm seeing several, some helicopter, some airplane, some that land on glaciers, etc. Looking for the absolute best tour offered that goes into DNP. I do realize that it's a crapshoot to actually see Denali on any given day, but I want a good company with the best experience. Thank you!
  19. In skagway, we rented a car and drove to Emerald Lake. Along the way is Tagish Lake Kennels, the owner is Michelle Phillips, who actually got points reduced and I believe fined for bringing her dogs inside a warming shelter during the Iditarod because of a freak storm that occurred. You can google her for more correct info on her though. She is the real deal. Her dogs are great. You can do a tour of the whole place or just go in and play with the puppies.
  20. The park connection bus has a 9:45 pick up at the cruise dock that gets us to Anchorage airport at 12:30, so I think my questions have been answered on that end. I just posted about lodging and food though, if you have any input on that!
