  1. Wonder is docking in St Thomas and people on board say the Dominican Republic stay has canceled, they appear to be on the normal eastern itinerary for Wonder, but skipping Coco Cay (as planned)
  2. I was checking on Wonder's position this morning expecting to see her approaching San Juan for the first time in a long time, but she just turned into St Thomas Crown Bay. Quick search says something closed the port of San Juan, didn't see anything here yet.
  3. Thanks for your participation! About the time you board, I will likely be headed back up I-95 near Georgia. Boy I sure don't want to think about this cruise being over! By the way, are you going to the Crew game on May 25?
  4. I want to thank everyone who participated in this thread! I've enjoyed it a lot and I accomplished what I set out to do when I started it. 1. I killed time waiting for this cruise. 2.,I did learn quite a bit about a ship I haven't been on and learned a few things that has changed since my last Royal cruise of 2022, and a few things new about this Oasis class. Thanks.
  5. I did hear that somewhere else as well, a planned annual event. Not to old to learn something new.
  6. For no good reason other than curiosity and time on my hands, is anything special going on at Coco Cay during the subject days? We leave on Wonder is just about 4 weeks so I have been tracking her every movement for the past 8 months. Normally whether on her east or western itinerary she usually is at Coco Cay on Monday. I noted this week when she should be doing her normal Coco Cay, St Thomas, and St Martin itinerary, which is our 5/26 itinerary, that she is/was going to Nassau/ a port in the Dominican Republic, San Juan and Labadee. (I know she isn't going to to Labadee) But I was wondering why the one week change to this itinerary I checked and it APPEARS to me no ships are at Coco Cay for 3 days and I haven't seen that before. Someone charter a ship/island for a few days? I've seen some special concerts here in the past. Obviously I don't need to know, I am curious. Save the Why do you want to know posts! 😛
  7. Coming into this thread late, not going to read all the messages, just skimming. Has anyone mentioned how far out Royal has already canceled visits to Labadee. (Now that I have posted, I will keep watching posts from here on.)
  8. I've enjoyed enchanment, I guess the numbers didn't work out for them to stretch more of this class.
  9. I forget was the old Legend a Soverign, or Vision class?
  10. Nice info, not that I asked what the reason was, you don't say, just mention "the reason" I know as @gatour said its a registration of convenience, which is understandable. The main question was are there rules about that and specifically do they have to return to the home port ever?
  11. As I get close to my next cruise, cruising dominates my thoughts when my mind wanders which is often. I believe all of Royal's ships, at least the ones I have been on are registered in the Bahamas. Am I wrong? (Not my main question) 🙂 ) I do I know Voyager is indeed registered here. I took this photo on my first ever cruise back in 2006. This brings me to my main question. On May 4th Voyager stops in Nassau on her way from Galveston to Barcelona. I will be back on Voyager for the first time next April, so I plan on catching her on teh PZTV webcam when she stops here. That led to my real question, does a ship have to return to her registered port every so often to keep that registration valid? To the best of my memory, Voyager hasn't been back in Nassau since I got off of her back in May of 2006. I don't claim this as fact.
  12. @Steelers0854 Enjoy your sea day will watch your arrival in the morning.
  13. That's rarely heard of these days 43 years in 2 weeks.
  14. Congratulations, I loved our librarians, I recently went on a 45 year reunion tour of our high school and the biggest disappointment was the Library. What use to be 10s of thousands of books is now a multi-media facility.
  15. I stumbled on this post the day before your last day! What's up today! I've avoiding work and researching my cruise!
  16. Ha, I have been kidding my fellow cruisers giving how many seconds till we cruise, but I haven't converted my employment to work hours yet - 328
  17. I work for a recognizable Fortune 50 company. In my 17 years here they have done the same thing every year! They predict they will make (our division) 90 million in profit. When they only make 85 million in profit they lay people off. That is usually proceeded by a request for Voluntary termination where they offer you one week of severance for every year you have been there. I have been there , as mentioned 17 years and I have 10 weeks to go. Where is that #$%$% offer!
  18. I know I am revisiting a lot of old posts, but I am getting so close. I have been a volunteer helping run the Columbus Marathon for a few years, I will expand that now. I also am keeping a part time job that I really love, just 20 hours a week and 5 day weekends every week! My new industry is dominated by younger people and their is a real need for older people like myself. The kids seem to like me and I do help people. I just have to remind my new employer (part time 3 years now) that I am doing this for fun and can walk away, or to another location easily. While I consider myself very middle class all of these kids working hard for a living call me "Big Money" as I go on cruises, work but don't have to, and we go on trips when the mood strikes.
  19. This message is 9 months old, I hope your doing well, this has/will work out well for me, I am keeping a fun/rewarding job for 2 days a week.
  20. I'm sure I responded to this thread in the past, but now its getting real. Retirement cruise on Wonder of the seas is only 38 days away! When I get back from the cruise, I will have 18 work days left, but I won't be working too hard on those last days! I don't feel bad saying that , my full time working career ends with 17+ years at an evil corporate giant that I fell into and just waited out the time. (Now that time is almost over!) I will continue to work part time a couple of days a week at a job I love. For now between this cruise and camping, this is a party season!
  21. I sympathize with your wife,. IN 2011 I was training for my first marathon, and I did 10 miles a day on Allure's track. I've had to retire from marathoning after 7 of them, but I'll probably still get down there for a walk occasionally.
  22. 6 weeks from now I will be on my port side balcony enjoying this view, love the scenery coming into St Thomas and St Martin. Thanks for getting up early, it was fun to watch via the port webcam.
  23. I think you will be ok with 2pm, I didn't see that much tearing down until about 3pm.
  24. I second that sentiment! But only 40 days for us and we are on the same itinerary, watching for Wonder to arrive in St Thomas now!
