  1. We purchased free at sea plus for our next cruise two days ago. After the charge for fas+ had posted, we booked 2 additional shore excursions. The shore excursion amounts reflected the $100 discount per excursion. We are now at the point where we are making our final payment, and NCL is requesting that we pay an amount that reflects only a $50 credit for each shore excursion. Has anyone else had this problem? I don’t want NCL to cancel our cruise for non payment, but I also don’t want to overpay.
  2. How much do you have to lose at the casino per cruise or over a years time to get these discounts? The discounts sound wonderful!
  3. We are seasoned NCL cruisers. We’ve never been on an MSC cruise. Is it possible to eat anytime ( without a reservation) in the main dining room at a table for only 2 people.
  4. We will be on the Getaway for the cruise from southampton to NYC in October 2023. How crowded might the ship be? We make stops in France, Portugal and Spain before we cross the Atlantic. Will they offer more daytime activities?
  5. You can also accumulate 30,000 points and then get a free upgrade from an oceanview to a balcony. To get 30,000 points you need to spend $10,000 with NCL. We book two cruises and then have enough to upgrade. You can also reserve an oceanview and make you final payment including DSC and let it post to the ncl credit card then call and upgrade your cabin. This strategy works best on the older ships. It’s easy to save $1500 per person. On the larger ships we save around $500 per person.
  6. We were on the Jewel in March and had dinner with the general manager, one other couple and a single woman. We really enjoyed it and learned a lot. Main dining room. The waiters just hovered over us and kept refilling our wine glasses every time we took a sip!
  7. We were very satisfied and saved a lot of money by doing a small group tour (4 couples arranged thru our roll call) with icelandeverywhere.is. It was half the price of other tours. It’s owned by a former schoolteacher who is very knowledgeable about iceland. We used him in both ports.
  8. to the OP who wanted the Jewel Medical Center email contact address it iswww.ncl.com/case-submission
  9. Just beware that the bus is frequently late. It goes back and forth between lhr and the coach terminal. We’ve ridden it twice and both times it arrived in Southampton an hour late. We had booked it this past September and we didn’t use our return ticket because we were told to be at LHR three hours before our flight. A 9am bus that is an hour late and that takes 90 minutes to drive might not arrive in time for a 2pm flight. We took the ncl transport. It was $75 per person.
  10. Ncl has a new cruise terminal. The novotel is just 2 blocks from the terminal.
  11. We upgraded from a balcony to a family suite on the Star in September. We had prepaid the 12 day DSC on the balcony. NCL never collected additional DSC.
  12. We stayed at the novotel. It’s literally a 3 block walk to the new horizon cruise terminal. No need for a cab.
  13. OP, is the $4000 cruise fare include taxes and port charges shore excursions etc.? all that’s refundable
  14. Be careful! We learned that your wifi minutes are removed at midnight on your last full cruise day. Our flight ( from London) on disembarkation day was delayed by 5 hours and we couldn’t access the airline or flightaware screens because our 30 minutes we had saved were deleted. We were in a suite so the concierge used his phone to help us.
  15. I came down with covid on the last day of our 12 day Northern European cruise on the star in September. My husband came down with it 3 days later. We each had 3 days of being miserable and then a lingering cough. We are vaccinated and boosted. Age 70 and 71. We would still have cruised even if we knew we’d get it.
  16. We were on the Star on 9/4. We had 1600 passengers. 70% capacity.
  17. We like regular coffee and cappuccino. We are staying in a suite. We have no idea how to operate the nespresso machine. are there instructions? Can i make regular coffee?
  18. We were in a balcony. We used 30000 points from ncl cc to do a meta upgrade from an Oceanview to balcony. We paid $1631 pp for the ov and received a balcony worth $2300 pp. this happened in 2020. We bid on all suites ($1100 pp was the highest bid), but we won on a$605 pp bid on the family suite (category sp). This bid was slightly better than mid fair. The good range started at about $800 pp. all in we paid $2236 pp and ncl final fire sale price was $2999 pp. it had been as high as $6639.
  19. Yes we got the upgrade. Cc charged 9am and simultaneous email notifying us. My ncl and new confirmation arrived 30 minutes later. The upgrade sat in that status where all other offers were expired and the one offer showed pending for 25 hours. Since i was not able to cancel/modify it, i was almost certain that i had won
  20. It’s also shaded so you can’t tap on it to modify it in any way
  21. We bid on suites for the 9/4 star cruise. All my bids say expired except for the family suite which says pending. I am unable change the status so i’m hoping it means we won. Our cc hasn’t been charged yet. My ncl still shows original cabin.
