Getting refundable cash back onboard
Beer Belly replied to Peachypooh's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
It would so much easier if they would just apply it to the CC on file🙄 -
Keep in mind, as some have experienced, NCL has the right to change the itinerary at any time, without reason, what is there today, may disappear when you embark
-
I agree. Not going to hold my breath, with NCL cutting cost and services everywhere they might pass out paddles for passengers to row the ship to save fuel (lol)

I would definitely call the Credit Card company, also alert them that you will be traveling so charges do not get declined while outside the US. We use a Debit Card for booking and need to inform the Bank prior to the transaction, they have a Max of $800.

Prima/LIVE/Feb 26 to March 5, 2023/non-Sistahs Cruise
Beer Belly replied to Greenpea2's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
Nope, not going there, not me 😊 -
Sorry to jump in, coming from NCL. With RCL Dining Package, you choose 3 specialty dinning, if one of the three is a la carte, you only get a $20 credit for that restaurant, and presented with a Bill ?

When they announce the change after final payment, or very close to it, there is a significant lose of monies if one cancels.

Thank you. From my calculation, looks like Boss Lady and I are looking at close to $1,200 for a 7 day sailing -
Check the cost of Beverage Packages today

What is the cost for a Domestic beer, such as Budweiser ?.....or a mixed drink such as a Pina Colada ?. We are looking at RCCL for a 2024 sailing (comparison shopping with NCL), depending on the drink price, we can gauge any saving or loss with the drink package. -
Couldn't keep my beer as cold as I like

NCL drops a Port, not refund of Port fees and Taxes
Beer Belly replied to Beer Belly's topic in Norwegian Cruise Line
I keep thinking, those who say "It's only $10", and I (and others) state it's the principal, ethical, or whatever, those who say "It's only $10", feel free to hand over $10 to those of us who feel differently.....it's only $10 😂. Anyhow, let's all just let it go as an experience and enjoy the cruise, I know I will, it is what it is I guess. -
I haven't sailed on a ship with the Cavern Club / Beatles, I have family who have and raved about it, hopefully just a rumor, it would be a shame to pull such entertainment. Not many care for the direction NCL is going with cuts in services and entertainment, yet keeping prices high and increasing fees, and people may draw the line at some point, I just can't see the Cavern Club without the Beatles, it's a major draw.

I was the only one to eat a certain dish while dining with friends, and the only one who went down till everything came up, that was one day, the following two days I was leary on any food -

If I feel I've been baited, as I do now, I'll still be bothered and except it as common practice, until that time........ -

To me, it's just the principal. You will not hear me bash NCL for the next two years, we will try RCCL next time around to have something to compare. This sailing will be only my third ever, all on NCL, and although the first was on the Escape in 2018, Getaway in 2022, I will say the experience has declined since the first. 2018, both the Wife and I got some viral infection, still managed to have a great time, ran out of steam by 10pm......Getaway in 2022, I got food poisoning on day two.....real bad, won't go into detail, lost almost 3 days of over that, all of this could happen on any line, I am hoping Prima will go without issue. We will have a blast either way. -

Got a point there. NCL can use this going forward to create more income....lure people on the ship, cancel a Port because you can, keep all Port fees...it's a win -

It's like paying a plumber who never entered your home or performed a service. I agree to a change of itinerary, but to charge for an intentionally missed Port, not weather or safety related and charged..... -

We are on the May 7th sailing to Bermuda that originally had stop at Norfolk Virginia, but NCL decided to remove Norfolk for whatever reason. I emailed our Travel Agent to ask if there were any Port Fees or Taxes refunded for the Port they removed, she responded " I called Norwegian and confirmed that there will be no compensation for the missed port in Virginia. I was informed that as part of your cruise contract, Norwegian has the right to change the itinerary. Please let me know if you have any other questions.".......when I asked if there were Port Fees and Taxes for Virginia, they are not being refunded ?.....response "Yes, that is what I was told by Norwegian. It is unfortunate." When I questioned the amount of Port Fees and Taxes for Virginia..."The total taxes and fees are 308.76 per person, they don't get broken down by port." I can understand an itinerary change for safety reasons, it's hard enough to except the idea of a drop of a Port "because they can", but to not refund any Port Fees and Taxes for that Port, to me that is theft.
