  1. If you wouldn't get wifi without the Plus package, then you ask yourself if you can drink $88 worth of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks per day (2 Plus packages minus grats). If you are going to have a couple of mixed drinks for $10+grats and a couple of specialty coffees per day, perhaps, you could pay a la cart and save money in the long run. That's what we do. We don't drink per se, but we enjoy specialty coffees and a couple of mixed drinks or a beer (for DH) here and there, so it doesn't make sense for us to get Plus or Premier.
  2. it's not even cheap. I paid more for our upcoming (first) Carnival cruise than I paid for our Princess cruise and the same amount I paid for our 2 Celebrity cruises.
  3. oh, no, that's sad. These are our favorite destinations.
  4. so did we! It was magical. Somehow in more than 10 years of cruising, we only ended up in Nassau once. I'd love to go back and enjoy the Blue Lagoon again. The gorgeous side: Lagoon side
  5. If I had a premier/plus package, I wouldn't be buying any extra OBC
  6. we are regularly taking uber xl with 5 passengers (3-4 suitcases)
  7. if you are using a TA, they should be able to provide you with a printout of all the charges that were made to your account. Shouldn't they also be fighting this for you? Also, if you are using a TA, would THEY be notified of the cancelled excursion instead of you?
  8. yes, very easily. We flew out of MIA at 1:30 but the cruise was from Port Everglades. We weren't in any hurry and we still sat at the airport for 2 hours.
  9. really? My kid has been cruising since he was 3. Not once did he go around the ship buying everything in sight. He is 13 now. mine's just a regular kid.
  10. OK then. If a US citizen (born in the States) is not traveling internationally, they don't really need a US passport. A naturalized citizen may need one just in case they lose the naturalization certificate, and those kids who automatically became US citizens when their parents naturalized may need one as proof of citizenship, especially if their parents didn't want to pay an ungodly amount for a certificate of citizenship. But other than that - I can why one would "resist" getting a US passport, if they never plan to travel overseas. yes. 2 week for our kid last December, no expediting.
  11. just do a search on this board for "medallion holder" and a bunch of posts will pop up with visuals. Basically, pretty much any air tag holder will do.
  12. I am with you. I got this package for my kid for our upcoming cruise, and at the time it listed soda only.

  14. it sounds easier to drive, but that's just me.
  15. I don't want that one spammed either.... And I can totally tell who sold our info. For example, ATT butchered my hub's first name in a very specific way, so when we get spam with that spelling, I know it was ATT.
  16. who wants to get one AARP email every day? They've been bombarding our household with their mailed invitations years before anyone in this house even got close to 50.
  17. not really. We've made Platinum 2 years ago after 5 cruises with Princess, and the benefits are the same for Ruby now as they were 2 years ago. We took advantage of this benefit: • Princess Platinum Vacation Protection upgrade at the price of regular insurance.
  18. Yes! That's exactly the cabin we stayed in. Our DS slept on the pullman bed, and we simply ducked under it to get to the balcony. It was awesome.
  19. same here, so I bought DS a soda package but none for us. I'll carry on some diet Coke for myself, since Carnival serves Pepsi products.
  20. not exactly true. We were in both Deluxe and non-Deluxe balcony cabins with 3 people. One has to climb over the sofa bed when it's unfurled, but unless one is disabled, it's not horrible. Plus, the sofa was only converted into a bed later in the evening, and if you aren't ready for bed and want to use the balcony, just fold it back into a sofa. But technically, the balcony is not BLOCKED. We folder and unfolded our own single sofa bed when we wanted to. It's not difficult, unless you are disabled. Cabins like E522 or A512 have the upper berth in front of the balcony above the sofa, but it was super easy to just duck under it. Look for a Deluxe balcony cabin for 4 - it should have a sofa and an upper berth. The other two lower berths can be in a queen formation because they are not in the way of the sofa/upper berth. Non-deluxe balcony cabin for 4 will have two upper berths above the separated twin beds - not a great setup for us personally, so we never booked one after watching some youtube videos. It's illustrated in post #3.
  21. We were on Enchanted in June and didn't experience any of that. Aside from Covid. Hubs also got Covid on Enchanted.
