  1. we liked the Hampton Inn Suites at Blue Lagoon as well, but I am getting a corporate rate just under $200.
  2. same. Stayed at Hampton Inn Suites Blue Lagoon last Nov and will stay there this Nov as well. The stay was good.
  3. Oh, I see what happened. My apologies, I misinterpreted "cruise card" as "passport card" and was confused as to why the agents didn't accept a passport card instead of a DL. Yes, definitely, a cruise card is not accepted in US ports as proof of identity. The cruise card is also not a proof of US citizenship, so stating that you are a US citizen with a cruise card does nothing.
  4. it's not about proximity to Russia. It also happens in the US ports in the Caribbean: PR, St Thomas, St John... They are far from Russia. We have always been required to show a (US) ID to get back into port on US territory. However, I am surprised that they didn't accept your cruise card instead of DL. That part is weird. My MIL doesn't have a DL, but she does have a US passport...
  5. We are platinum, and it looks like the loyalty weeks started today, yet, I don't see Southern Caribbean cruises in the summer of 2026 on Princess site. The flyer shows only 4 Southern Caribbean cruises in 2026.
  6. Some Carnival, newer NCL ships (Getaway, Breakaway and newer) and slightly older AMPed RCI ships (Independence, etc.) will have what you desire. My teen doesn't want any of it anymore (he was into it when he was younger), so his favorite lines are Princess and X.
  7. funny thing is, when we tried to make a reservation at Sabatini for 5 (we had Premier), we were told they were fully booked, but the manager made an exception and we got seated at 5. We were there for almost 3 hours, and the restaurant remained half empty the entire time.
  8. ah, well, the production shows are quite good now and are worth it. Princess really brought it up to about NCL/RCI level.
  9. which means absolutely nothing, because citizenship status has nothing to do with flying domestically. Whether a person has a (US or otherwise) citizenship or not has nothing to do with Real ID or flying. Whether or not a person has a lawful status in the US would make a difference between them getting a Real ID or not. There are many kinds of lawful status (immigrant or non-immigrant) in the US which have nothing to do with citizenship.
  10. so, non-citizens of the US will no longer be able to fly between states? One would need to prove they are a US citizen before they can board a domestic flight? That doesn't sound right. Notice where it says Lawful Status instead of US citizenship. There are a lot of non-citizens in the US who have a lawful status. I think you are confusing Enhanced DL and Real ID. https://www.dhs.gov/real-id/real-id-faqs Beginning May 7, 2025 every state and territory resident will need to present a REAL ID compliant license/ID, or another acceptable form of identification, for accessing federal facilities, entering nuclear power plants, and boarding commercial aircraft. Q: How do I get a REAL ID? At a minimum, you must provide documentation showing: 1) Full Legal Name; 2) Date of Birth; 3) Social Security Number; 4) Two Proofs of Address of Principal Residence; and 5) Lawful Status.
  11. I don't remember getting any messageson the door panel at all on Enchanted in June. We won $25 OBC total among the 4 of us with Premier package (2 cabins) on a week long cruise. I found out when I was checking my husband's folio as I did every day.
  12. wait, you didn't see any production shows? or you are just so used to it, you can't smell it anymore. For us and for other non-smokers as well the stench is very pronounced. We can't even walk by the casino without smelling the smoke.
  13. with the plus package you can get several bottles of water at a time at any bar and put them in your cabin fridge for later.
  14. yes, but one doesn't have to be connected ALL THE TIME. We can share and disconnect at times. You are not checking your email every 30 seconds, right?
  15. yes, we usually share one plan between the 3 of us. The person who uses wifi the most is my husband. Not our teen. At home both are connected 24/7, but not on a cruise.
  16. the clip itself is secure, but the medallion is held by a magnet, sooo..... we decided not to use it.
  17. Glad you enjoyed it. Also glad Jade didn't break down during your cruise as it did during ours in 2018. We had a 3 day cruise to San Juan instead of a 10 day South Caribbean cruise. It was unpleasant, but at least we didn't travel from Australia or Europe to be on that cruise, like many other passengers. Oh, and the MDR food was bad even then, so if it's worse now, it must be really bad. That and smoke smell everywhere is the main reason we haven't gone back to NCL after the make up cruise.
  18. there were plenty of seats available. The Good Spirits presentation time was loud to the extreme. Maybe it was a one off, but it was painful.
  19. Same! We had to leave because their presentation was unbearably loud.
  20. well, 14 years ago it wasn't exactly right after a pandemic... Although 13 years ago in winter we did have a lot of swine flu going around. I remember it because I was about to give birth, and my co-worker came to work while being barely able to even sit, horribly sick with swine flu, and I had to train her on my duties before departing on a maternity leave a couple of days later. Ugh. I told her to go home and I wasn't training her while sitting a foot away from her. 14 years ago we didn't wear masks anywhere. Even 5 years ago we weren't wearing them. However, now we still wear them when we fly, and we still wear them when we get sick (not with a cold) and don't want others to get sick.
  21. yes, we have that at home, but we can't bring it with us on a cruise....
  22. those egg muffins (bottom) are the best thing ever! I had 4 every morning, and if they still have them next year, I will have 4 every morning again! the staff warms them up for you - heavenly!
  23. we got a fancy coffee at IC several times a day (including in the morning on the way to the buffet) on a full cruise on Enchanted, and it was never a zoo. Once in a while the coffee line was 5 people deep (the horror!), but, goodness, that's nothing and it goes so quickly. Also, on Royal class this same fancy coffee is available at the Horizon bistro in the buffet. I'd get an iced one at the IC, and then a couple of hot ones for my parents and DH in the buffet. We always cruise during school breaks, so the ships are always full to the brim.
  24. he does not. He is sleeping in a very elevated position, so he has no choice but to remain semi-seated when sleeping. 😞 Plus, I wouldn't call it sleeping - he must have been awake all night long anyway. We didn't wear a mask around him. We only make sick people wear them. 🙂
