  1. must be off season and/or comped. I haven't see prices like these in many years.... Our MSC Seascape cruise was $109 pppn (not including gratuities), and there were 3 of us.
  2. I must say that our MDR waiting team was wonderful - they took great care of our party of 5. We had early dining.
  3. it's glitching horribly right now. When I am picking a cabin, the site shows $680 pp, but on the next screen it's $1,100. Same with different categories (May 2025 cruise).
  4. I think they are a little too old and somber for us. I hear the food is good, but that's not all that matters. 🙂
  5. well, we've never been on HAL (nor are we tempted to), but Princess is our 13 yo's favorite line. He's been sailing on Princess since he was 5. We also tried Celebrity this year for the first time, and he loved it as well. Got two more X cruises booked for next year. Also, Celebrity's prices are very much premium.
  6. the point is that we always travel in steerage class, and we don't experience any of these problems on any other cruise lines. It's not like our MSC cruise was free, nearly free or even a fantastic bargain for steerage class, making any of our complaints petty. No, we paid for this cruise, and the price was pretty close to what we pay for cruising on the other lines. I think it's wrong to say - well, you were in steerage class, of course, you are going to have problems. I do understand when ad-hoc problems arise, but this was not it. It was just the general "we don't care about non-YC club passengers' comfort and enjoyment, so we are going to make their cruising so unpleasant they will be forced to choose YC next time" attitude that I take issue with. Because next time I am not choosing MSC YC - I am choosing a different line, where even traveling in steerage class is wonderful. Our friends who sailed with us on the same MSC cruise did have a comped cruise (non-YC), and they were still very disappointed with it (it was their first time on MSC as well).
  7. at 1,467 USD / Night? Well, it's more than half of our cruise fare for 3 people for an 7 night cruise during spring break or an 8 night Thanksgiving cruise for 3. No, thanks. P.S. That's the cheapest rate for 2 queens.
  8. Thank you for remembering me! Yes, we have already sailed, and no, at the time of our sailing the ping pong tables were still inside the elevator lobbies. Both of my boys (hubs and son) played it a lot! We used the area in your photo for chilling and reading books, and at that time there were only a couple of chairs and tables there for lounging.
  9. did you actually request it at GS or excursions desk? or did you expect the person who is checking the tickets to ask for it on your behalf? so, your wife declined further medical services, but you expected her to get extra "loving" service? I've read quite a few reviews on this board that GS/medical staff called and checked on the people who suffered some kind of a malady or an accident onboard after the initial visit. So, it's been done. P.S. I am very sorry about your wife's nose. I am sure it was very unpleasant. I hope she healed quickly and well. P.P.S. As platinum members, you get premium Princess insurance at the price of basic insurance. I guess you didn't buy insurance at all.
  10. that would be nice. Speaking of changes, I was surprised to read that Seashore's casino is a smoking one. Seascape's casino became non-smoking right before we sailed, so I thought MSC was also changing it for their other newer ships.
  11. But OP didn't sail in YC, did they? You keep pushing and advertising YC as if MSC is paying you to. For every comment made by someone who didn't sail in YC, you always interject with the ad for YC.
  12. true. We hit the 3rd and 4th person free promotion on our 2 upcoming X cruises, so they are priced within our affordable range. But, imho, the amount of aggravation sailing on Seascape caused us can only by offset by at least $1K price difference.
  13. it was definitely a mess for the steerage class in Nov 2023. Morpheus and MonsterJoe might think that the YC process applies to the rest of the masses, but it didn't. We all had to show up at the same time, and it was a hot mess with the elevators and immense crowds.
  14. you can see my review of Seascape's MDR food in my signature. It is from Nov 2023, but it's still within 12 months. In general we were pretty satisfied with it as far as I can remember. I wouldn't call MSC "very budget friendly" in the US.

  16. cafe el bachio didn't look anything like that on Reflection in April 2024. It had a much more demure presentation of the same sweets which were also served at the buffet. But this was Enchanted Princess in 2022: that pictured, 2024 Enchanted offerings didn't look this good either.
  17. there is nothing wrong with chasing a fluffy white bread roll if you have to be gluten free. Just because you have to be GF doesn't mean that you can't or aren't allowed to crave a bread roll. A lot of people don't choose to be GF just for kicks - life chooses for them. It's like being a diabetic and still wanting to have sweets. Wanting something sweet doesn't turn off just because you are diabetic.
  18. it was NOT policed on our June Enchanted cruise. My parents took the Premier seats in the aisle and nobody ever asked or checked anything. It was a full cruise, before anyone asks.
  19. it's hard to believe and I wonder what happened. We had 3 production shows (really good to awesome) and some guest performers (they were pretty bad) on our 7 night Enchanted cruise 2 months ago. The lady juggler in the Piazza was better than guest juggler in the theater.
  20. we were on sold out Enchanted cruises in Nov (thanksgiving) and June, and never had a problem with getting 5 seats in our most desirable location 30 minutes prior to the show. The Premier seats were all in the aisle - probably for older people (you know, emergencies and stuff). My parents loved having the aisle seats... I, on the other hand, am all about symmetry and strongly prefer seats in the middle and farther from the stage.
  21. I am 100% not a Michelin critic. I am a glutton who will out right reject only beans, onions and blue cheese. I am not picky and happy about the "hotel banquet" quality food. The only food we were 80% disappointed in was NCL Getaway MDR and buffet food in 2018.
  22. we were on Enchanted in Nov 2022 and June 2024, and the menu has changed quite a bit (but not 100%). You can compare them if you look in my reviews for both cruises.
  23. I fully agree. same. Especially when school holiday dates can change at any moment when we are booking a cruise 2 years in advance.
