  1. I'd go on the cruise or at least ask the future parents if they even want anyone to visit right away. I would not anyone in the waiting room or for at least a couple of weeks after giving birth. Maybe, even more time. Plus, the kid could be early, on time or late...
  2. we usually go to the Infinity beach club which is adjacent to Tabyana beach. Before the pandemic we paid $15 for the RT per person, plus $20 pp for the beach club use per person over 6 yo. You get to use the pool, a beach chaise in the shade, and a rum drink. All in all, it wasn't bad at $35 pp, and us choosing the time to return. I found RCI beach excursions to be very limited time wise.
  3. are you using the app to search for cruises? I do it online. I use the app to customize my already booked cruise.
  4. we just go to the beach in almost all the ports, especially with a kid.
  5. I don't want to be surprised with a secret ingredient I don't like. For example, I can't stand tomato based sauces. But I can order mozarella sticks and put them on my chicken sandwich myself. 🙂
  6. there is so much to that island! And a teen wouldn't care to be around much older folks in the Club... And the free food in the Snack Shack is fantastic! The funnel cakes!!!!! Hint: the questions you are asking have already been answered many times on this board. You can always use the Search window, or have your 15 yo do it. 🙂
  7. Lights, camera, action! We're putting the finishing touches on our entertainment lineup, so if you're sailing on a ship that accepts reservations before you board*, check back closer to your sail date to guarantee your seat at our can't-miss shows. *Allure of the Seas, Anthem of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas, Oasis of the Seas, Ovation of the Seas, Odyssey of the Seas, Quantum of the Seas, Spectrum of the Seas, Symphony of the Seas, Wonder of the Seas. They just recently brought this back.
  8. no, it wasn't supposed to be funny. I could swear I read that the welcome beverage was either a juice, a soda or a beer. But if beer wasn't a choice, that's ok, I must have misremembered - I'd take a soda then.
  9. I'd take a bottle of beer or a mixed drink over a block. Sorry, but these blocks mean nothing to me. Just dust collectors.
  10. neither am I, and I don't even drink beer or wine. This is our first sailing on Emerald level, and I have just found out about the welcome beverages. I was looking forward to getting 2 beers. Dang. "Exciting new changes," my behind.
  11. however, those in steerage class were complaining about 10+ minute wait for the elevators.
  12. you should sail on Princess (Regal Princess and newer) or Celebrity for food. That's what we do. RCI - for fun activities and entertainment, and Princess for food.
  13. I linked our bookings first and then made all the reservations for all 5 of us.
  14. make sure to bring long socks for this. We also bring gloves for DS. He first tried skating on the Allure and fell in love with is. He is pretty good for a novice (took lessons), but he hates it now. 😞 They have both hockey and figure skates if you don't want to lug your own (they are heavy...). Must wear a helmet they provide. Must sign a waiver for the kid. Not sure if it's been mentioned before (don't have time to read all responses): RCI checks the pool towels out to you, and you have to make sure to check them in with your card when you return them. Otherwise, you get charged $25 per towel. Make sure to use the phone app or online app to make MTD reservations in advance. Probably, not too many open times left at this point in time. Also, 30 days out make all show reservations on the app as well. "Mustard grill" is going to be on the app and then you scan the card at the muster station. Sign the waiver for the surfing and the zip line. Make sure to do the Abyss slide!!! We did that a few times on the first day alone, however, you can't have anything on you, and you can't have your bags with you either. On Harmony, if Windjammer buffet is too full, head to the Solarium buffet instead. Have a nice quick bite at the Park cafe on deck 8 in Central park - nice sandwiches, soups, salads, coffee, tea, desserts. We love Park Cafe. Also a nice place for quick bites is right by the sports court - Mini Bites on Deck 15. My kid also loves Sorrento Pizza (pepperoni). I've always wanted to try the free breakfast at Johnny Rockets, but my DH and DS prefer the buffet.
  15. that was the only gripe I had last November, but I'll get over it, as long as the food is good. 🙂
  16. I do. I also have a kid who wants to watch and rewatch his favorites, so that works as well. There were some movies on Enchanted I haven't seen yet, even if my boys have. And I showed my kid movies Gifted and Hidden Figures.
  17. Enchanted has so many great movies and shows on TV for free that we didn't need anything else... We watched a movie or two a day...
  18. So glad you loved it! We enjoyed sailing on Enchanted last November and I booked a cruise for next year as well. We didn't use the pools at all, but I could swear the square one behind the buffet (Wake pool? Wake View pool?) was very shallow, so it may have been easier to get into.
  19. It's not like I paid $5 for a 7 night cruise. It was still almost $2K.
  20. 🙂in November 2022 we as US residents collected our medallions at Port Everglades.... Nothing to it.
  21. I check in for our flights in the morning when we arrive at the final port. well, you didn't have to pay for the free medallions. What exactly did you pay for? You could pick them up at the terminal for free.
  22. well, I am taking this chance. Also booked my parents on the same cruise and paid in full as well. We'll see! I don't even care if they give us the premier package - the price would be good even without it.
  23. couldn't find it on the website. I should have just looked at the pdf receipt before panicking - it's on the receipt!
