  1. I simply laid on our bed next to my toddler and read or listened to an audiobook while he napped. There was no need to bring a separate inflatable bed or pack and play (he was too big for it anyway). Wouldn't a JR suite have a sleeper sofa? You can prop it up with chairs on the outer side like we did when DS slept in it.
  2. since this is your first time with Princess, I would highly recommend to go with a much newer ship.... Caribbean Princess was old even back in 2016 when we were on her.... ETA: continued reading and saw that it's not Caribbean Princess. 🙂 Good!
  3. he isn't in one yet, and I hope he won't be by next November, but he cannot negotiate the stairs for sure.
  4. on our very first cruise I neglected/forgot to bring regular flip flops, which resulted in me completely killing my very nice dressy sandals which I wore to the pool deck and got wet, and my sneakers which I wore on our Belize cave tubing trip. We had an inside cabin, so nothing dried out properly... I must have looked unusually fashionable by the pool in something like this: So, now instead of dressy sandals I bring rubber flip flops and athletic flip flops... just in case. My DH forgot his toothbrush... so we had to buy the most basic toothbrush in the ship store which cost us $4 at the time ($0.50 at walmart). I also once forgot my hairbrush... The ship store had none, so I bought it at our very first port in PR. Unfortunately, the ship broke down that day and that was also our last port on that cruise. Now I keep that brush in my suitcase so I never have to pack it again.
  5. I had a State ID (non-driver's license) till I was 25 when I finally got my first DL.
  6. hippo if any of them are from Puerto Rico, they need to have the new version of the birth certificate.
  7. we certainly did! Thanks for the video! I booked Seascape for next November, but in steerage class. 🙂 Will also bring our parents with us - my poor dad has mobility problems and will have to "enjoy" the elevators...
  8. open on Enchanted in November. We didn't eat there, though. But we used the bar a few times.
  9. I could have sworn last November Harmony had 4 in the buffet (2 on each side next to the exit), 2 next to Sorento pizza and maybe one somewhere close to Mini Bites. As far as coupons, we were platinum and got 2 coupons per adult for 50% off beer or wine (hubs used it for beer), 50% off specialty coffee (loved that one - used all 4), and then 10% off sodas, and the kid got 2 50% off soda by the glass coupons and some specialty coffee coupons but he doesn't drink coffee yet. And no, they don't tell you you have these coupons.... You have to go to the bar, scan your cruise card and they'll print out a little piece of paper listing your coupons. When you are buying something, you have to tell them to apply the coupon in advance... Also, my kid thought Sorento's pizza was the best evah.
  10. we like Sorobon beach at Lac Bay. Very shallow, sandy floor, has a beach bar. $5 pp taxi each way, $10 per chaise, free wifi if you get a chaise.
  11. it's not so close at all. But the beach bar area fills up pretty quickly if you need a chaise. If you don't - plenty of space. When we were there in November, there was also a cruise tour from our own ship there. They arrived much later than we did and left much too soon.
  12. we are not avid snorkelers, but last November (2021) my parents and kiddo snorkeled right behind the rocks at the Chill island, and saw a ton of different fish and other sea life. They loved it.
  13. true, but that's not what OP's question was. He/she asked if they need to tip the barista at IC. If they have no package, the tip will be added to the bill. If they have a package, it's already included.
  14. would he not want to see all the shows with you? That's what our 10 yo did. Except for Grease. DH and DS did not attend. 🙂
  15. that's on Princess ships. sort of an analog of the Cafe Promenade, but better, IMHO.
  16. we brings passports and driver's licenses. Passports - for cruising and coming back to the US. We bring driver's licenses with us ashore, especially when they ask you to bring a picture ID. They are usually checked in US ports like PR and St Thomas. We were in St Thomas during Thanksgiving, and they wouldn't let us back to the ship area until we showed IDs. To get back on the ship itself we only needed cruise cards/medallions (Princess).
  17. we LOVED it! What a gorgeous place, and when you go to the opposite side - wow, even better!
  18. Vista is newer. Apex is brand new. Adventure is ancient. We no longer wish to sail on old ships. Is there nothing else you like at that time?
  19. I would disagree. It is no longer budget friendly, especially during peak family times. A TA cruise outside of a school break may be budget friendly, but a 7-8 day cruise during a school break - yeah, not so much.
  20. I completely disagree. We were there last November and LOVED it. Our 10 yo loved it. And we also fed fish with hot dog buns from the buffet and it was so much fun! My parents snorkeled with our kid - also fun. The other kids played basketball right off of the beach. The food was great at the Snack Shack - and the funnel cake is wonderful! Breezy bay part of the Chill island. and no seaweed. But it was a colder day with cold water. We had two ships in port that day - Indy and Harmony, and it was still great. Mine hates water park.
  21. you do know that you don't HAVE or NEED to buy excursions for 4 every time. We would love this itinerary.
  22. we don't snorkel in Bonaire at all. But we LUUUUURVE Bonaire - Sorobon beach to be exact. It's a paradise. Our 11 yo loves it as well, and he was 5 when he tried it out first. ABC islands is our absolute favorite itinerary. We've just done it twice - RCI in June and Princess in November. Sorobon Beach, Lac Bay, Bonaire: But you, @Midwifelife7, will need to remember that your 2 yo will not need a car seat on Cococay. Cococay does not need to be expensive. We don't spend a cent there ever. You may need to bring something like an Evenflo Tribute or Maestro for the 2 yo to use in taxis in other locations. If the kiddo is small, you could get away with a Cosco Scenera NEXT (rear facing only). Other than that, I'd pick ABC itinerary hands down.
