  1. if you had chosen a room or a gty was already assigned to you, you will stay in your cabin. They mean - if a bid for a different category is not accepted, you will stay in your current category. Which is pretty obvious.
  2. no no We loved Harmony. Edited to add: disembarkation on Harmony was a breeze after Thanksgiving week 2021. Disembarkation on Allure this June was pretty bad in my book, but in 2019 it was nice and easy.
  3. well, that's a skewed view. In our family my husband is the cook. I do the dishes. And we are not going to even mention same sex couples.
  4. You can see RCI's MDR menus in the app a good 6 months in advance. My Oasis cruise is in April 2023, but I could see the menus for at least a couple of months now. Same with my June 2022 Allure and Nov 2021 Harmony cruises. Of course, it's the same menu fleet wide with very minor variations, but it IS prepublished months in advance.
  5. Thank you. Justafem's post read as if anyone could just call the Casino Dept and get their fare adjusted to next to nothing.
  6. but did you friend spend a lot of money in the casino onboard? Or is this "casino rate" open to anyone?
  7. Harmony had regular looking and tasting chicken nuggets at the buffet, so my then 10 yo was unpleasantly surprised by these fancy things. That one bite was all he took. 🙂 He likes a variety of fast food nuggets, except for Arby's, just to give a fellow parent an idea.
  8. my 11 yo didn't like the pepperoni pizza offered at MDR (crust and cheese were ok, but pepperonis - nope), but he LOVED Sorento pizza. You could grab a couple of slices on the way to MDR. He also really liked Spaghetti Marinara on the kid's menu. Spaghetti Bolognese was a no go for either of us. He also hated chicken nuggets off the kid's menu - too fancy. We also got him a fruit salad for every dinner since he started cruising at 3. Sometimes it comes cut into cubes, and sometimes it's whole pieces. There were cheese tortellinis on the adult MDR menu one night - he absolutely loved them. Also, bread with butter is such a highlight of the MDR dinner for all three of us. Fruit salad chicken nuggies MDR pep pizza We have also used a tablet with headphones for DS since he was 3 to give us an opportunity to actually enjoy MDR dinners. He watched cartoons and kid's movies.
  9. we were there in June. Zero harassment of any kind. Some elderly dude playing an instrument pointed to a table with some trinkets, I said - no, sorry, no cash, and that was it.
  10. it seems this question is asked quite often.... but do we need to open a new thread every time? https://boards.cruisecritic.com/topic/2849599-favorite-food-on-princess-cruise-line/
  11. I am getting seafood. 🙂 Never liked turkey anyway.
  12. very true. Back on our very first cruise in 2009 the tux rental was $99, I think.
  13. uncleboo, you do not have to open 2 or even 3 identical threads for each question you have. You can just open one new thread. Or you could open just one thread named Questions about Enchanted Princess and keep asking your questions in it.
  14. we are now in a mid-forward balcony and I have just switched from Amalfi (we were in the aft inside) to Santorini. Capri wasn't offered at all for the 3 of us - maybe, it's full already.
  15. the only additional "everything" we pay for on Spirit is the checked bags... And it is still cheaper. And, yes, I do check prices every day and wait till they fall to an acceptable level (usually right around the 80-90 day mark). RT ticket per person $171 on Spirit for our TG cruise, $458 on Delta, and you still have to pay for checked bags. I kept an eye on the SW tickets as well - very high and the times are inconvenient, and SW tickets are $328 to and $89 from, so nowhere near $171+$68 luggage fee.
  16. well, we are out of $600 in Southwest money since they changed our pre-cruise flight by 6 hours on the day of the cruise, and then the funds expired last July right before they extended the funds' expiration dates... I thought we had a year to use them, but apparently that year starts ticking from the day I bought the flights, not from the flight date.
  17. we usually fly on Spirit, and bring two 40# 28" roller suitcases for the 3 of us (we check them in, don't forget to pay for the suitcases before you check in to save money), and 3 school sized backpacks with electronics, meds and things we cannot cruise without (1 pair of shorts, 1 pair of flipflops, 1 swim suit or trunks/rashguard, and 1 sun hat per each person, toothbrushes). We cruise for 7-10 days. Here is our packing list for a 7-10 day cruise: Passports, covid vaccine cards, wallet, credit card, cash, itinerary/flight printouts Masks Medications (stomach, echinacea, cough, ibuprofen, prescriptions, diarrhea, laxative, cold, thermometer, children’s meds, afrin) Lysol wipes SPF lotion and spray Swimming suits, trunks, rashguard, sunhats, beach bags Sunglasses Swim ring, floaties, vest, nose clip and goggles Water masks Sand toys Shoes: flip flops or crocs, sandals, sneakers (we wear these while traveling), proper, water shoes Charging cables, laptop, phones, tablet and tablet holder Truvia, thermos cup, water bottle, zip lock bags for snacks Shorts, underwear, pjs, t-shirts, pants, dinner clothes Toothbrushes, hair brush, cosmetics, always pads and tampons Gloves and tall socks for skating Water and heat on vacation, unplug everything, turn off computers, take out trash My parents manage to cruise with one 40# suitcase and 2 medium backpacks (also flying on Spirit with us) for the two of them. just so you know, you have to pay for checked luggage on pretty much all airlines now, except for Southwest. On Spirit you pay MORE for carry on luggage than you pay for CHECKED luggage, so it makes sense to pack everything into 2 large suitcases and bring FREE personal items (backpacks) as carryons. Since you are going on a 4 day cruise, you will need even less stuff than we do, and your kid doesn't need sand toys...
  18. and by that I mean - I borrow them from the county library. 🙂
  19. probably soon. I started hearing about bid acceptances for our TG cruise about 3 days ago.
  20. it was a regular inside cabin for 4. There were others available, so I don't think there was any interest in that in terms of upgrades/bids.
  21. yes, that was the minimum. 🙂 Chances do not, apparently, depend on the bid amount. Thank you!
