  1. I hadn't heard that was an option. I thought insurance requires taking the compensation offered by the cruise line or air provider before approving a claim. Are you experiencing any issues with your insurer? Thanks, this would be very good to know.
  2. I am Platinum and when checking in with my SIL and DN, I advised each check point that the they were in my travel party and there was no problem at embarkation or the PES lounge. YMMV.
  3. I see you are in Florida. Where did you take your tests? Were they free? In January and February, we got tested at CVS in Port St. Lucie and they were free, but I have been seeing some talk that the tests for travel are no longer free. (I don't think CVS even was asking if it was for travel, just if we were concerned about being around a large group of people.) I think they were billing Medicare anyway...
  4. Usually 11 AM, show up around 10:30 AM. Do you have this screen on your app? Don't sweat the time frame if you're there early or late, it doesn't seem to make a difference at the terminal.
  5. We rarely eat in MDR anymore. Many of the tables for two have been close to each other since we started cruising in 2006. We got tired of having another couple almost sitting in our laps and deciding that we were now their BFFs. It's nice to meet other people at a bar or at poolside and then go our way. Sometimes people think that sharing a table (which is what the close tables for 2 amount to) means a close personal connection has been made. For some reason, this doesn't happen in the buffet even where their tables for 2 are also close together.
  6. The two medallion cruises I went on, one in 2020 and the second in 2022, I found the locate feature unreliable. When I would locate someone in our travel party and went to see them, they weren't there. Then I would check and find they were now on a different deck. By the time I got there, as you may have guessed, they were gone. On the February Caribbean 2020 cruise, I sent a message to a friend via the app. They never saw the message until 2022 and they were on a Med cruise off the coast of Greece. They're fun to play with, just don't rely on these toys.
  7. But threatening to detain a person against their will unless they fork over some cash would constitute the crime of extortion. Especially when it's not even your debt they're trying to collect.
  8. Please keep us informed of your aunt's condition.
  9. My cards would make the payment and if I responded that I didn't authorize the charge, then the bank would reverse the payment to the vendor, or eat the payment themselves.
  10. I don't see how Princess can refuse to disembark a person because they owe money to Princess (Or in this case think someone should pay someone else's bill) I would think that would constitute unlawful imprisonment. Just wondering, what if one were to flat out refuse to pay? Would that person become a "Flying Dutchman"?
  11. What happens if you travel to Alaska, Mexico, Japan etc...? Do you need to incur roaming charges just to use your credit card? If you lose your phone or damage it while travelling and want to purchase a new phone how does one pay for it?
  12. @Megabear2 has an American Express card. Maybe someone can confirm whether or not the UK American Express card has a traveler's assistance line to help cardholders in this type of situation in which Megabear was in effect left stranded in a foreign country? I don't post this as a suggestion as to what Megabear should have done but rather as a suggestion to other people who in the future could find themselves in a similar circumstance. My prayers for your aunt. 🙏 🙏
  13. My experience with the buffet dinners are that each night there is a different international theme, so each night there are different options.
  14. DW isn't very fond of me bringing pantyhose or nylons on cruises either 🙄 I'm just having some fun, don't anyone flame me for enjoying some lighthearted posts. 😏
  15. Budweiser is the 'Breakfast of Champions" - they have that... 🤣 🍻
  16. I'm unclear where you are going with this... Are you suggesting that every soul onboard needs to be put under quarantine? CDC only suggests an exposure occurs when one is within 6 feet of contagious persons for 15 minutes in total during a 24-hour period. Passing someone in the passageway isn't an exposure to a contagious disease. What do we do with all these people under quarantine on disembarkation day?
  17. Technically, they are in isolation, not quarantine. Per the CDC: Isolation separates sick people with a contagious disease from people who are not sick. Quarantine separates and restricts the movement of people who were exposed to a contagious disease to see if they become sick. Quarantine and Isolation | Quarantine | CDC
  18. I don't think the CDC will be too eager to remove pre-cruise testing. One thing about bureaucracies is when they have a policy they think may be working (even to a small degree), they tend to be loath to discontinue a pre-established policy. Often times it's because nobody wants to take on the responsibility and concurrent blame if things go awry. In a city close to where I live, police used to direct traffic at main intersections. After the city installed traffic signals at those intersections the public safety bureaucracy kept the police in the intersections directing traffic using the traffic lights a guide as to who goes and who stops! 😵
  19. I was more thinking of offering a limited supplement to a 3rd party insurer. But, you're right, keeping it in PVP may be an incentive for people to purchase their protection.
  20. Before counting on your insurance, make sure it covers a cancellation due to a declared pandemic disease. 🤧 Maybe Princess will offer some type of insurance (for cost) if you test positive and are denied boarding. 🤷‍♀️
  21. It's not like I knew it would be down to $8.74 when I bought at $61. I also own much more than the minimum number of shares as well. I just need to sit tight, it'll rebound, (maybe not to $61 in my lifetime but it will rebound in my opinion.) Maybe I should have said that I dropped by at least $250...
  22. I bought a few years ago at $61.00, so I've already dropped by $250, but I'll get it back on my next HAL cruise.
  23. I'm not a stock market expert, but wouldn't Carnival Corp be able to avoid bankruptcy by divesting itself of one or two cruise lines in their portfolio? I would think they might be in a better position than most smaller cruise conglomerates.
