  1. But, in 20 years, the 40's and 50's will be in their 60's and 70's. 🤷‍♀️
  2. This new promotion is a good opportunity for families to book cruises for next year. I just don't remember ever getting a flyer in the mail soliciting families. So maybe this isn't a new direction for Princess.
  3. The fine print in the flyer says it's available to legal residents of North America.
  4. I'm not anti-child, I'm anti parents who fail to supervise their children and let others deal with the kids while the parents are napping in the sanctuary. I remember being on a non-Princess cruise where there were young children occupying all of the hot tubs for most of the day. Although there was nothing to prevent it, I wasn't about to spend time in a hot tub with some young pre-teen children. Certainly, wouldn't have been a good optic for me. I never got to relax in a hot tub on that cruise, something I had been looking forward to. 😒
  5. I just received a flyer from Princess soliciting "Make your next family vacation special" The promotion offers "up to 35% off plus kids sail free!" Offer ends 8/30/22. It sure looks like an experiment to see how going after a younger demographic would work out. The fine print in the flyer states the offer is "on a limited availability, and is capacity controlled (regardless of stateroom availability)" What are your thoughts? Is this good or bad?
  6. You're absolutely correct. I was tailoring my response specific to OP's sailing and question.
  7. I may be able to pay for my cruise by having people pay me to open and close their doors for them while they are eating or in the Sanctuary or Princess Theater. 😄
  8. That's a long way from the Sargasso Sea, captain! ☠️ 🦜
  9. Per the Princess website: "Princess Cruises continues to operate cruises that meet health authority requirements for sailing with at least 95% of guests fully vaccinated. These cruises are available for guests who have received their final dose of an Australian Therapeutic Goods Administration (TGA) approved or recognised COVID-19 vaccine, with the last dose being administered at least 14 days prior to the beginning of the cruise and can provide proof of vaccination. In addition, where local regulations allow, we’re managing a process for exemptions. Guests with medical contraindications to the vaccine and children under the age of 12 who are not fully vaccinated are permitted to travel, subject to pre-approval by Princess Cruises." There are more questions and answers relating to sailings from Australia on Princess' website here: CruiseHealth™ FAQ: Sailings from Australia - Princess Cruises Keep in mind that February is a long way off and protocols are subject to change in response to then current conditions. Just keep checking those FAQs up until final payment date and make your final decision then. FWIW, I know several people who have contracted covid more than once and they have said the symptoms were less severe than the earlier infections. Use common sense and practice good safety measures and you can decrease the chances of contracting covid again, but nothing short of living in a bubble will eliminate the risk. Make sure you purchase a good insurance policy, just in case. I hope you enjoy your cruise.
  10. "Your winnings sir..." I think some of the passengers heard that during their two extra days in Coral's casino.😄
  11. We've seen this playbook before. Reporters find one disgruntled passenger and they put his/her face on the television and the print media runs with the story as well, all without conducting further interviews with other passengers. I also think that often times it is the disgruntled passenger who contacts the media first.
  12. Thanks, I was just about to delete my question. DW just told me it's a loaf of bread, not muffins. I'll have to try it.
  13. Do you slice the English Muffin or dip it whole, or does it not matter? I never thought of using English Muffins.
  14. According to Princess' web site FAQs it is anytime within 3 days. They count by the day not the hours: Fully Vaccinated (ages 18 years old and above) At least 14 days past completion of a primary vaccine series and no more than 270 days (9 months) from the date of disembarkation since receiving the last dose of an approved COVID-19 vaccine. A booster dose is required for guests 18 and older if the last COVID-19 vaccine dose in series is older than 9 months (270 days) from the date of disembarkation. Antigen or PCR Within 3 days* CruiseHealth™ FAQ: Sailings from Europe - Princess Cruises
  15. Oh no a day or two extra at the Casino or the buffet? Heavens forbid.
  16. Do I detect a note of condescension? 😪
  17. The advice is if you go to see it on Broadway, a mask is optional, but a bulletproof vest is strongly recommended...🙄
  18. I wonder if CLIA's Healthy Sail Panel will be reconvened to advise (require) cruise lines during the restart. I can see a phased approach. IMHO, the last protocol to be completely eliminated is the vaxxing requirement. Vaxxing may not provide total immunity from BA5, but it seems to be keeping people off the respirators and out of ICUs. If there are hundreds of people who are unvaxxed on a ship with an outbreak - who gets to use the few respirators onboard? (Rhetorical question.) The whole cruise industry (not just one line) doesn't want to take the chance of such a devastating tragedy from occurring. There was a reason the cruise lines had us all filling out short health surveys at embarkation. (And people were grumbling about completing those surveys too!)
  19. I asked DW not to pack so much luggage...🤷‍♀️
  20. But the colors were pretty too! (Unless your ship was coded gray because you wouldn't play with the CDC...)
  21. There really never was transparency with the color coding. One never knew if an orange ship had 8 cases onboard or 800. It was just a color with no release of an actual statistic. Here is the new CDC web page with the new announcement and FAQs: Cruise Ship Travel During COVID-19 | CDC
  22. If it's not an attitude, then why use a derogatory term to describe the first-time cruisers? It's looking down on other people. I'd classify that as exhibiting an attitude. Done here.
  23. I think this sentence says it all... Shows the underlying attitude. 😒
  24. Obviously, the correct answer to the original question is "maybe." It depends on where and when, just like almost every other policy on Princess. "It depends on who you ask" or "it depends on which ship you are on..."
