  1. This is a very entertaining thread. Thank you Elvis1209 for starting it. I also hate dinning, especially in Muranos!! There is no S!
  2. Good for her. I hate it when men refer to their spouse as "the wife". It's degrading.
  3. We are currently booked on Westerdam Sydney to Seattle Mar 30 2025. We booked because it was sailing to Vancouver and shortly after, got an email to say they were replacing Vancouver with Seattle. Bah1
  4. Great post Bill Miller. Happy New Year to you too. We are cruising from Honolulu to Vancouver on Edge, May, to celebrate DH's 80th. Aug 26 we will be on the Constellation, Rome to Ravenna celebrating our 57th anniversary. We love cruising.
  5. Thank you Hawkstar. Happy New Year to you too and to all the Cruise Critic members who give us lots of info and keep us amused. as well.
  6. We have tried HAL and Azamara. We loved Azamara and have booked a third cruise in 2025. I guess Celebrity must not be so bad after all because we have 4 more booked!
  7. There's a little square with a pencil on it at the right of the page across from categories, on your reservation page. If you click that, a menu drops and allows you to click on cabin selection. Then a list of cabins appears. It annoys me that they think they can select your cabin. Like trk, I had the same problem. Selected my cabin but when I went back to my reservation details, it still said 6001 which I didn't want. I gave up, after trying about 6 times and booked the cabin I wanted from a TA. Just this AM I went back to see if they had fixed this and lo and behold I did get the cabin I selected this morning and the one I am booked in was gone from the list as it should be. Good luck in getting the cabin you want.
  8. We have 5 cruises booked and hoping weather issues do not impact them.
  9. We are really enjoying your great live review, mahdnc. The pictures are wonderful. I could never get enough of Singapore even though we have been there many times. We plan a similar cruise (just booked today) in May 2025. Ours is Singapore to Kobe. I just have to see Danang and Halong Bay. We stayed one time in the Tang Plaza Marriott and it happened to be our anniversary. We came back to our room one day and they had placed two little 8" stuffed monkeys with their arms around each other on our bed. So cute. We still have them on our dresser. Bon Voyage!

I thought it was some kind of game too! Thanks for all the chuckles, folks.🤣
  11. John, we must have been typing at the same time. I am envious of your plans! River cruises are delightful. We have sailed with AMA, Budapest to Amsterdam. You will be on the Quest? captain Johannes is delightful, so I hope he is on board for your cruise. I look forward to your experiences when you arrive home.
  12. We, too, are Celebrity cruisers for the most part. We just completed our first HAL, mainly because it was sailing from Vancouver. We should be on Azamara Journey right now sailing from Singapore to Melbourne. We had to cancel as I developed a leg problem that made long flights inadvisable, sob. As a consolation, we booked the HAL cruise. We were not told that you can book a specified table at a specified time on HAL, so that resulted in lining up at dinner each night which we did not enjoy. You don't have to line up for anything if you have Club Orange (extra fee). We found the food inferior to Celebrity. In fairness to HAL, maybe we should give them another chance. We had dinner one night with a gentleman who had sailed with them over 500 days. He said there was something off about the Eurodam. Our cabin was delightful being on the stern. That is a must for the Panama Canal! We really enjoyed the concert pianist on board. I think he might have been in his late 70's and boy could he play. So I would say give HAL a try and see what you think. BTW, we love Azamara but it is more expensive. Happy sailing whatever you choose.
  13. Is the menu totally different from the Lawn Grill? LCG is our favourite restaurant at sea. Will be on Edge in April.
  14. I agree, they have never offered 50. h He did mention Silhouette, Eclipse and Reflection. I got the email this AM and watched the webinair. I am in Canada. Every little bit helps but I doubt we will ever reach Zenith.
  15. Never had anything stolen on any of our cruises but then, we are not pool people leaving stuff on the lounger. I did leave a gold pill box on the table in the MDR once but it was turned in, thankfully.
  16. We just cruised through the Panama eastbound in Oct on Eurodam in an aft cabin. It was amazing watching the water rise and fall and watching the gates open and close, also the ship behind us. if we got hot, we just stepped into the cabin for a few minutes. It was great being able to view both sides of the canal. I don't remember what cabin we had on Mercury where we viewed the canal from the lounge. Not as spectacular.
  17. You just beat me with your post! People become so engrossed in their cell phones, they are oblivious to anything that is going on around them. I have been walked into, as well, on the sidewalk, at the grocery store etc. On a cruise ship, if someone was talking loudly, I would ask them to please turn down the volume!!!
  18. OP, I would suggest you try the S class for your next sailing, particularly Silhouette (our favourite) and Reflection because of the Lawn Club grill. This restaurant is not on the other S class ships. You might enjoy sitting out by the lawn on these ships too. We are trying Edge for the first time in April, hoping we don't dislike the IV cabins. Enjoy your cruise whatever you choose.
  19. Really enjoying your review. We will not be on Connie again till Aug, so it is very encouraging to see that she is still great.
  20. That sound good. Six scoops of ice cream and half a bottle of Bosco!🤣🤣 I have a story about the Lava cakes. One night we were enjoying them and at the next table to us was a chef! She told me if I wanted to make these things to buy a Cuisanart steam oven and they would be fabulous. She was right! It makes a great job of them and it's a very handy little appliance also, since it is also a convection oven. We rarely use our big oven now.
  21. We were to start with 2 days in Honolulu, then Lahaina, Hilo and Kailua. Now, we have only one day in Honolulu, boarding day, sailing at midnight, no Lahaina which is understandable, then Napali coast, 2 days in Hilo which is the pits, Kailua and on to Vancouver. People are talking about cancelling. I don't know why Celebrity doesn't return to Kauai as it is a beautiful island. Hope you get everything worked out.
  22. We really enjoyed being on the cruise again through your lovely pictures. So glad we got to see Israel.
  23. Is this the cruise on Edge, May 1 from Honolulu to Vancouver?
