  1. Have stayed in CS and it was the same experience, other than CS is a larger suite, but they still have a dedicated butler along with the other upper suites. We'll see what this Head Butler is all about or not all about!
  2. This level of excellence has been what we've experienced on our previous in the Retreat in a SS and while we are still hopeful for the same on our Connie Dec cruise we're concerned about the changes and the effect on what we have become used to and expect. We'll see.
  3. It was my understanding that Connie was dry docked with a major face-lift during down time at July 2021 dry dock for the post-COVID restart. Recent YouTube videos appear to back that up.
  4. Don't mean to be redundant but anyone currently/recently on Constellation in a SS who is the Head Butler and Concierge?
  5. We are booked on Connie in Dec this year and will let folks know the condition. I saw a very recent, August 2023 cruise, YouTube video of her think she looked in very good condition to us. These vloggers have a number of videos posted throughout their cruise.
  6. Along with others have never even heard of that happening to anyone and trust they will make this right with another one or some acceptable compensation. All the best with this!
  7. Made me laugh as we were the same, new to cruising and went on Carnival out of Galveston, same experience and said we would never cruise again and actually didn't for many years, then was told we had to try the better lines, did and was hooked ever since.
  8. Thanks for the replies. Was on Edge last April and they were pouring French champagne. Might be because it was a TA.
  9. What is the brad of Champagne being offered currently or recently on the Connie for the drink packages (realizing brands can change depending on available quantities during the length of the cruise)? Thanks.
  10. We cruise in suites and do not receive emails for Move Up, PUP, etc. But certainly, as everyone, get the emails about balance due! We are in SS on Connie and Dec and no emails. Oh well, not a biggie for us.
  11. I'm not sure on any of the X Retreat Lounge or Michael's Club we've been in I've known what status anyone was unless they mentioned it for some reason, which can't recall anyone doing. We haven't experienced any of them as being overly crowded. So, not sure Zenith's will have muck of an effect if any. I'll report back if we do on our Dec Connie cruise.
  12. We, too, are looking forward to your review and thoughts (pros and cons). We have cruised TA and are looking to plan another in 2025 (rest of 2023 and 2024 booked) depending on itineraries and I, more than my better half, am interested in TP at some point. Safe travel!
  13. That may say it all about X transitioning to be more RC like and attract those that mostly cruise RC.
  14. Agree on the OBC, ours on X have always been what we considered as generous but as we read it, they are decreasing those on future bookings. We have yet to go outside RC or X (most recently) but are reviewing as longer itineraries, amenities and food quality are top of our list so those will be a deciding factor to switch with cost being close to all things equal.
  15. Thanks, George. Appreciate your enlightening me to this, not that we will be doing so as it's mostly the two of us or other suite guests that we have cruised with.
  16. Mind if I ask if this was recently? As I recall, I have never seen this on the X cruises we have been on and didn't know they did that. We mostly see much of the same folks that we see/have met in the Retreat Lounge/Michaels Club in Luminae for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
  17. Interesting. Curious for clarification, they were able to bring their children, spouses and grands into Luminae?
  18. "Certain type of people" here and have never had a bad experience in Luminae for food or service. It has been rare but when there was something we didn't particularly care for they were always ready and willing to bring us something else we wanted to try or they recommended. Also, for the most part, have enjoyed the pizza and pasta in OV on difference classes of ships. Always taken care of on a 7-day cruise or 24-day cruise with different lengths in-between. But that's just our experience and others certainly will have had their own.
  19. Same here and did not get an email asking for questions.
  20. Thanks. Interesting as one would think those locations would be ideal for Podium talks.
  21. All of this feedback has been valuable to hear the different experiences. We are withholding judgement until we find out on Connie in December to see how the changes may or may not affect us. Hope others will continue to provide their current experiences.
  22. As with others here, have truly enjoyed your review and the pictures speak volumes. We are looking to expand out from X and keeping our options open, which no includes a Great Lakes cruise. Thanks, and look forward to your next adventure.
