  1. Library E deck - Deck 7 A cosy coffee shop, the library boasts a fantastic selection of fiction and reference books. Craft Room E deck - Deck 7 Adjoining the library, enjoy craft classes and workshops on every cruise. Card Room E deck - Deck 7 Essential for any bridge player, but also the venue for whist and crib. A copy of the description of the facilities on E Deck, pasted straight from the Saga web site. According to website library should still exist and be full of books
  2. Good news if pre booking before you board is open
  3. It's clear new ships are diverging, most getting bigger and bigger, except for a small niche of smaller luxury ships. However since the universal demand for balconies, non are sleek good looking ships of 40 years ago.
  4. As I said before it's not a deal breaker and I won't be cancelling my cruise. But I cannot comfortably read tablet in sun. Whilst my wife sunbathe I read. I took a seperate case with books for our Eastern Mediterranean Odyssy. I wouldn't rank books as important as food and drink. However to me a library is more important than daytime lectures and craft workshops.
  5. It's not just cheap, it's the cheapest plonk you can get, gob smacked its €2.50 online. Clearly a big breach in the advertising standards authority code. Which says advertisements (a website is classed as an advert) must be truthful. Not a deal breaker, but cause for complaint
  6. Anyway on their website Saga describe the library as offering a wide selection of fiction and non fiction books . That's what I expect to see.
  7. One question is there representatives from speciality restaurants at Suite lunch so you can book there , or is it best to make a quick trip to Epicurean then others?
  8. I thought bibliotek was the Latin name for library, people had adopted biblio tech for a place with digital books and other digital media. Don't think it applies to a place with seats. That's a lounge.
  9. It's not a deal breaker for me either . However it's a facility other cruise ships offer, and was advertised when I booked. I will miss it. Clearly if it doesn't have books it is no longer correct to call it the library. It is misleading, it is just another lounge. They still advertise that their ships have libraries - under life on board on website and in letter to Denarius. Which without books they don't. I'll wait untill nearer my cruise before emailing Nigel Blanks and his boss.
  10. The more rounded guests need cummerbands as well as Tuxedos, whereas the less rounded Mediterranean cruise guests can get away with swimwear.
  11. As my wife will not contemplate a TA , I will never be a Cunarder, even when I have sailed on all 3 current ships.
  12. I agree a true Cunard experience is any trip on any Cunard ship of any length, hopefully you will have a wonderful time. One of the negatives of this forum is people who think there is only oneway to be a Cunarder. Whichever ship you travel on, whether you like to dress up , or casually eat in self service, you are welcome and a Cunarder .
  13. $ or £ or € , is it a one way. If it is one way in Economy a return may be cheaper . I've seen £700 online return. Similiary less than 2000 for business class return. Some airlines let you book business one way , economy the other. Cheaper than one way, just don't use second leg I tend to use comparison sites to find cheapest decent airline , then book with airlines directly.
  14. Sorry must be meaningless to non Tolkien fans, Ents as others have said were gentle half tree people, who got very angry with the Orcs who chopped trees down and destroyed everything for fun. The Ents when roused tore the Orcs to bits. Hobbits were quiet , well dressed gentle folk who liked to eat at least three , 3 course or more meals a day. So they would be ideal Cunarders
  15. They should be used to police dress code. Well dressed hobbits let through badly dress orcs thrown over board.
  16. Lots of sea days are fine in Med and Caribbean, but round UK you need ports.
  17. Nice to hear from you how are you doing , when are you going. We've madly booked Carribean in Nov In 2023 it will be premium SPIRITS, which won't include premium wine. The premium drinks including premium wine on Eastern med cruise was a lucky c*ckup . We we told spirits initially, however when they phoned up about new intinerary over phone some people were told/offered premium drinks. Which once on board they insisted on that drinks included wine. Hence we got premium wine for free. Can't see them making that mistake again. Odd policy can have an 18year old malt, but average plonk with dinner.
  18. Lesson seems to be , don't pre purchase OBC unless you get a significantly advantageous rate. Then only buy less than you are CERTAIN to use, the loss due to non refundable exceeds the benefit.
  19. Looks like no books in library is only covid restriction 🤣🤣🤣
  20. Given that their adult sons were using places allotted to parents, ie not extra to grills, and parents eating where Brittania guests can eat, it would be very unreasonable not to allow this
  21. I have mentally written my investment (ha ha) in carnival off, just take OBC as it comes. You don't make a loss till you sell it, and they are now not worth selling. Going to be 10 years before they are worth what they were before covid
  22. Won't be sitting on balcony in January, unles you want to be a frozen ice statue.
