What i can't understand is no prices on website. Could have prices per cabin type per deck at 35% off. We can then all work out 30% off etc ... I can't believe they want to give you a price over the phone with a take it this minute or it may go up. A bit like a double glazing sales person. We like to think about things. We are in lucky position that suites don't sell out at 35% immediately so not going to bother any more with preregistering. Just priced some Seabourn fly cruise, No more expensive than Saga, but much better choice of ports big ships don't go to. But that's got to be balanced we love ambience on Saga and fellow passengers.
  2. We have never had the drinks package. At £100 per day for the two of us, that's three bottles of decent wine, or a bottle of champagne and an excellent red. In the room. If you have to resort to by glass , either brought to room by yourselves or butler, that's a lot of trips to the bar. If you are going to be eating mainly in room , think about bringing a few cases with you no corkage if drunk in room, think what you can get for that money, you can drink grand cru for same money.

Boring and expensive, going to give it a a miss. They don't seem to be taking advantage of the smaller ports that the bigger ships can't use.
  4. Peking duck , and especially any Indian meal are always very good. Once felt like something simple , had toothache and no dentist for a few days, asked in morning for Macaroni Cheese, absolutely awful, forgot onions and cheese must have been on ration

Agree on both points, not a very exciting set of cruises. Given that unlike many ships Saga doesn't have cabins from hell, then if you can't get 35% discount why not wait for guarantee

We all agree a pdf would have been better and simpler

Try the above works for me However find it a pain we have specific times when we'd want to go between other holidays. A list by date much easier

Snap Beginning to think just cruising out of UK is limiting Saga intinerarys, so might just get money back.

Good to see not only one having problems
  11. Only way is ask Bultler, or test it have just a glass of wine with an MDR lunch in Suite and see next day if it appears on Bill.
  12. Queue - nard Cue - nard
  13. So there would be a large number of passengers with similiar cabins and status. This seems to me to be a case of P&O giving too many people an early boarding at same time. Better to spread things out more so you don't have to queue
  14. OBC is an enticement to book select. It's free if you would have booked select anyway, if you put a premium on choosing cabin. OBC never makes a select cabin cheaper than a saver. Selbourne' s saving of 10k is massive and unusual , it clearly changes the equation makes OBC trivial. Normally it is much finer balanced decision.
  15. 12.15 boarding pretty early , were you in Suite or high level (Liguirian ) pennisular club member , thought they used to have priority check in and hospitality lounge. Has this gone (covid excuse for cut backs)
  16. In both my pick ups the driver or the local company has rung me night before confirming drivers name and his mobile number.
  17. We've been in more than 5 metres on both Queen Victoria and Elizabeth and hardly felt it. I wonder either SOD feels waves worse (isopods and fancy stabilizers not as effective ). Or Saga has just become very very risk adverse.

Thanks , We pre registered in May 2022, my plan once I get the email brochure , will email or web chat Saga to give them appropriate phone number. If there's nothing we like will tell them to roll preregister over
  19. One should always check th he price via Cunard vs directly. Sometimes there will be no difference, or Cunard is cheaper answer is obvious buy the package. Sometimes the difference may be thousands. Not everyone can ignore a saving of a few thousand, and even many of those to whom a few thousand makes no difference may begrudge paying a few thousand more for exactly the same ticket. The advantage of a package may be convenience and piece of mind. However practically Cunard can't conjure flights out of the air or find seats on a fully booked plane any more than an individual can. But an individual can move faster. It's a myth that Cunard will delay the ship, they may well for a plane full, but not for just a couple, the economics don't stack up. If you miss the ship yes you will have to arrange own way to next port, either by taxi or by using same public transport that Cunard would have to use. So given a potential saving of a few thousand. If like many you have time you can opt to go early to mitigate risk and put it towards holiday. If you do not have time, can take money , but don't skimp on insurance, an in unlikely event of problems be prepared to sort it out yourself and claim money back from insurance. Or Forego the saving for the peace of mind of a package. It's up to you

Just tried to update to my S.A. phone number, guess what Saga website only allows 11 numbers , so no room for a country code. At the rate things are going might not matter, only here for another 5 weeks
  21. Glad all OK. If it wasn't then the best course of action demand a transcript of the call, which is your right under data protection. If agent promised accessible not partial accessible then you have a firm contract with P&O
  22. This ignores my point number one , which is if you are booking yourself which you would only do for substantial savings, then use these to travel at least few days in advance, ideally more . We would go a week in advance to de-jetlag. The odds of weather shutting everything down for that long is extremely remote. If you have a week of bad weather then no one can help not even Cunard. Refund job, insurance. Only case I can remember is not weather but Iceland volcano which shut everything down. Travel on day or day before use Cunard , even if you use Cunard , make sure you get all details of ticket, type , number etc , so you can talk to airline directly if push comes to shove..
  23. TigerB did you notice on a 2 week cruise does epicurean menu change.
