  1. Hello from the frozen tundra of Lee's Summit, Missouri a suburb of Kansas City where it is -4 with a wind chill that feels like -27 degrees with heavy snow until noon.
  2. We watched tonight because I wanted to see if it would be Capt. Sandy. The Below Deck Reddit pages were all speculating that it would be Sandy and it makes sense. I know there are a lot that don't like her but I do. Even if she micromanages. Yep she is derailing very fast. Did you notice how Sandy was cleaning the galley? I've never seen her do that before. I wonder if she took note of Capt. Jason and all the things he does to help out. Also did you notice the whip in Capt. Lee's luggage before he left. I didn't know the Captain was kinky?????
  3. I was getting a little worried but finally it showed up. I have a good friend that does some really good ones for his daughter. Here is his latest.
  4. So excited to see this excursion pop up for our October cruise that goes to Tortola. The Soggy Dollar Bar at Jost Van Dyke has been on my bucket list for years. We are officially booked. Merry Christmas to me!
  5. No but I will now. I plan on doing a side by side comparison in the next day or so. I will post my thoughts. The 12 was really, really nice. Happy Hanukkah wished to you and to everyone who celebrates. Let their be light.
  6. One of my favorite lines from the movie. I will watch this year as I have every year since the movie came out on Christmas Eve. Such a fun tradition.
  7. Sorry I haven't been around much. Trying to get ready for the last Christmas party I'm hosting. This is number 3 with some of my remaining family members and some of my dearest longtime friends. Unfortunately one couple had to cancel due to Covid, another ended up with last minute conflict, and two dad and son who i've worked with for years are on the road to cover the Chiefs game in Houston. So I went from 12 to now 6 and it's depressing but what can you do? All the food is ordered and I will have to make due. At least one bit a good news. My liquor store owner friend came through on my request to purchase a highly coveted and allocated bourbon Pappy Van Winkle 12 Family reserve. Going to crack it open tonight. Cheers everyone.
  8. Beautiful ! I love projections on buildings. They have really improved the technology of it. I am amazed at the brightness and detail. This is so cool to see.
  9. Happiest of Birthdays wished to you today. I hope your latest trip around the sun was a great one. Cheers to you on this special day as you turn the same age as me. Have a great celebration today!
  10. It's a common issue with TV stations. They have a responsibility to alert people but sometimes they go overboard. I think some of it is a fear that if something horrific happened and people died others would say they were not alerted. Plus you have the fact that all the stations are competing with each other so no station wants to go back to regular programming first. All the stations want to be the last and also they want to appear that they are going wall to wall with coverage. Drives me nuts. I can't tell you how many live shots I had to do where there was nothing going on but the producers felt the coverage needed to be continued.
  11. I'm not sure if we will drive again. 12 hours is a long time where as a couple of hours is nicer, not to mention dealing with traffic through Dallas and Houston.
  12. Yes that was the infamous separated shoulder and fracture cruise I'm better. It aches from time to time. I have to be careful about movement sometimes but I'm improving. I think our parking was $120 and I think we had about 4 stops for gas going down.
  13. How far is drive for you since you are south of us? It took us 12 hours but it was not bad at all. Looks good. I am going to try it. Can't decide for orange liqueur to use Grand Marnier or Cointreau?
  14. I would love to see some video at some point, don't go out of your way. I'm just envious because I wish I could do that.
  15. Thank you Debbie. I remember when I was Jonathan's age I grew a beard to try it. It never filled in well enough to keep it. I did keep the mustache. I think I've had a mustache ever since I was in my early 20's. There is a very popular Italian restaurant in Kansas City called "Garozo's" and their meatballs are the size of tennis balls. I just adopted that size. To be honest I don't remember. I don't think my mom was a fan. I had the mustache since my early 20's. I have thought about shaving it off but I'm so used to having it I think I might look weird without it. Winner Winner. Love these especially the last one. I love the extreme closeups where you can see the detail in the ropes.
  16. Looks Great! Quality is really good and very good audio. Santa was really good too! Thanks! Jonathan’s baby pictures and mine look almost identical. I’m surprised that my sauce doesn’t taste that greasy. I’m sure some of that meat fat adds some flavor. It’s not low calorie that’s for sure. I also make my meatballs big about the size of a tennis ball.
  17. What worked for me was leaving the meatballs undisturbed for at least 30-45 minutes and then stirring very gently. After about an hour I could stir the sauce normally just making sure I stirred in between the meatballs. Thank you for the update. It makes me mad that insurance will not cover it as it has proven to give good results. She will be in my thoughts. I have never had Eggnog before. Now I might have to try. Cheers!
