  1. I may have to try that. I remember having the same issue on my first knee replacement. Wasnโ€™t a issue with my second as they had trouble inserting a catheter and they inserted it after sedation and then they had me leave it in for a week. Thanks John!!!
  2. Yes talk about a very sad end to what was a wonderful celebration. My pain is manageable and Iโ€™m doing good except for my heart which is so sad and heartbroken.
  3. Thanks Mark. Iโ€™m surprised that I donโ€™t have much painโ€ฆ.(yet?) biggest problem is getting my bladder to wake up. Iโ€™ve made so many trips to the bathroom with nothing happening.
  4. Thanks Sue, it was a hernia that apparently I had for awhile but got worse. Not sure when I got it but the surgeon said it was a big rip.
  5. Update: Iโ€™m home after a successful surgery. The rip was a large one and I had some intestine poking out. I am sore but pain is doing ok. I have some good pain meds. On another note my heart is heartbroken that what should be a day of celebration of our hometown Chiefs winning the Super Bowl got a dark shadow casted over us. While we donโ€™t know all the information 1 is dead, multiple shot and injured. Thankfully our brave law enforcement ran towards the chaos and even citizens pursued and restrained the shooter. Still an active crime scene now as the investigation is ongoing. Any pain I have from the surgery is nothing compared to the pain, sadness, anger and depression I feel that this happened for what should have been a great celebration.
  6. Thank you Helen. My knee surgeon said it was ok to continue my knee rehabilitation. The one thing I do need to be careful about is my breathing. Some of the exercises I do I sometimes hold my breath. My therapist says thatโ€™s a no no. I need to breathe and not put any pressure on the groin area.
  7. Thanks George! They have closed most of the schools for the day. Should be interesting to see what kind of crowd shows up. The weather looks like it will be good. Last yearโ€™s parade was freezing cold.
  8. Thanks everyone for the well wishes before surgery tomorrow. Iโ€™m ready to get this hernia repaired as I have been uncomfortable for the last 4 months. Iโ€™m glad itโ€™s going to be done laparoscopy with a faster recovery time. My only concern is that I hope I will not sneeze for several days. I remember after my first hernia and sneezing. Boy did that hurt!
  9. Thank you Graham! Amy wife has left the living room and gone upstairs to clean before because the game was nerve wracking. I completely understand. Last night we rewatched the game so we could de-stress and enjoy the game.
  10. Great milestone. Glad you didnโ€™t hurt yourself too much with that fall. With my knees I have to make sure when I get up from the couch to stabilize myself before trying to walk. Iโ€™ve almost fallen a double of times trying to get up too quickly.
  11. Thank you! Needless to say Iโ€™m exhausted today. The Parade is Wednesday the same day as my surgery. My surgery is scheduled for 7:30am with the parade starting at 11am. I hope to be back home by then recovering and can watch it on tv hopefully if Iโ€™m not too out of it.
  12. Thanks Andrew! Still on cloud 9. Iโ€™ve seen some of the social media. I just shake my head. Just when I hope the human species is advancing I get reminded how stupid people can be. The haters will always hate, the doubters will always doubt. Iโ€™m not going to argue with them. Iโ€™m proud of the team and the city they play for.
