The crew is very happy with the gratuities from the drink package, they like management know most drink package purchasers are right around the break even point, yes a few go way over but it is very few. In addition if people were not purchasing the package in the belief that they were getting a little extra they would not even be purchasing a la carte the number of drink the package assumes, this would inevitably lead to a loss in pool revenue for the bar tenders. Bar tenders love the guaranteed pool income from the drink packages rather that relying on A la Carte purchases

Why not? Seems like a legitimate question to me

They have wings in the Diamond & Suite lounges frequently as hors d'oeuvres

Potential cancellation near sailing date questions
cruisegus replied to moonjelly's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Yes port fees and taxes as well as any pre-paid gratuity will be returned either way. If you cancel and another cabin mate is still going they may I said May reprice at current rates for single supplement. If you No Show you just are not refunded cruise fair, but get fees, taxes back Again either way no additional charge like the $100 you mention -

Not sure where you are seeing only 1 restaurant per day, but that is not what my Nov cruise planner says. It states multiple visits and multiple restaurants per day -
Better yet, leave your Daily Gratuites in place and at the time and to the person that is not living up to your service expectations, say something, be polite and say what you need or want. Escalate if necessary, politely. Belive me Royals crew wants you to be happy and they will do all they can to make sure you are.

Breakfast Room Service (Suite / Adventure of the Seas)
cruisegus replied to abrown84's topic in Royal Caribbean International
You will have only the Room Service options listed on the hang tag, but you will NOT have to pay the room service fee for those items that would normally incur that fee, like an omelet. BTW during dinner hours you can order off that nights dinner menu and have delivered to your cabin for no charge. -
Questions about fixed dining times
cruisegus replied to craig01020's topic in Royal Caribbean International
A lot of the 4 top tables are actually 2 tops slid together. Also if you have to stay on late traditional it is always the least selected option so much easier to accommodate. Hopefully you will get your MTD waitlist option -

Early boarding for Emerald tier
cruisegus replied to workstocruise's topic in Royal Caribbean International
I sailed multiple weeks Feb, Mar, Apr; May this year from Galveston and yes they are starting to enforce arrival time prior to terminal doors opening and the line still in existence. I.e. prior to doors opening Suite, Key, Pinnacle have one serpentine line. Earliest arrival time has a separate serpentine, not earliest time not allowed in serpentine. After both these lines clear and security is not backed up they start letting in waiting times to the point that they are now accepting all arriving guest, by that time we are generally starting to actually board ship. Boarding from inside terminal this year has been by status with in general boarding area being, wedding parties, key, D+, D, etc. Suites and Pinnacle have a separate boarding lounge. Though generally both areas start at the appropriate same time -
Tipping onboard above mandatory tips?
cruisegus replied to KPookey's topic in Royal Caribbean International
First you need to separate the bar tenders (behind bar) from the bar waiters (floor servers). Bar tenders do cash tips via staff agreement at the specificbar they work that week, and vast majority pool tips. Bar waiters on the floor running your drink are each individual, that is cash tips are what the get. Now if you wait towards the end of the cruise and discreetly slip, say a twenty to your guy and tell them it's just for them, they may actually pocket it or some will actually put it in the tip bucket anyway. There are actually a couple different levels in the bar on royal ships and may have different terms than I tend to use, bar back, bar waiters, 2 levels of bar tender, then Bar Lead (white shirt w/shoulder tab-day; black shirt tie-night) To advance the need to pass both a written test as we as a practical + an interview. -
Have not seen that message on a Royal ships machine yet but it appears they have updated the casino software to lock you out of future slot xfers from sea pass if a % is not risked

The internet days transfer is very dependent on who is in charge of the internet on each ship some will and some won't transfer. The drink vouchers transfer will NOT happen.

Currently on Liberty, need advice
cruisegus replied to Jerseygirl1416's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Does not sound right unless I'm missing something. Go back to guest services and ask to see the Guest Services Manager. I have always been able to cancel 24 hours before and have the cost returned as refundable OBC -

I know this thread is very old, but i am looking for an update from anyone that has experienced this recently. I have heard the ~$25 cost is now for just one time going down. Does anyone have a recent experience? -
Unlike in the US where we coddle them. In Cozumel they arrest them for Vagrancy
-
As @seasidemama said $100K (Primary) medical and $250K Evacuation would probably cover you in most cases. Most medical insurance will not cover you outside of the USA His self insure comment means he will eat the cost of say a late flight or other problem that cause him to miss the ship. A lot of us only worry about the possible medical problems and although missing a $3500 cruise would hurt, I won't lose my house because of it

Sleep / Stay in Different Cabin - Question
cruisegus replied to steve3791's topic in Royal Caribbean International
Not "new" sea pass but they will issue you a key only card for the cabin you want to sleep in. That "key only" card will have no charging privileges and you will need to retain your original card to charge and leave and return to the ship
