  1. Who tests anymore? Don't book anything that requires testing
  2. I think Star class is very "Genie" dependent. There are Great Genies and there are, well genies
  3. Now my wife wants a new set, recieved all but one of the Oasis class ships, now I have to start over. At least they didn't raise the points for Pinnacle, here's hoping I can still make it in September
  4. Fault in you scenario is Rejected tree does not include the empty JS and GS from the Accepted tree. Comparisons need to be applied to apple and orange to orange, so you have to account for all empty cabins, I'm sure the 3rd parties algorithm looks at all possible scenarios given the parameters from royal.
  5. So on less than Oasis and Quantum class ships, those without suite class. The GS and above have a silver card (old junior suite card - junior suites get same color as everyone else) to distinguish them from Pinnacles who now only get a Gold card. On Oasis and Quantum class ships the GS and above have a more not as distinct purplish card.
  6. Only the first couple of nights till they remember you have a silver card instead of gold (ie Pinnacle) who get charged to their coupons. As Diamond + you are not even allowed in the suite lounge.
  7. Put a hold on your drinks or any other charge until its complete, don't allow them to enter their room until complete I know that's all a stretch for Royal IT Seriously though, you don't even have to watch the video, just stop at the station and get your card scanned
  8. So when you go to resturant that adds an automatic gratuity to your bill, you tip on top of that? My philosophy has always been when a company suggests a tip and allows you to prepay it, that is the expected norm. I only will go above that for exceptional service, which is rare.
  9. and after his specialty restaurant gets a 2 on the survey and he gets called out by name, he can say good bye to his job. Time have changed if you ate so hung up on what you wear to dinner, you shouldn't sail mass market cruise lines. No one wants to be told what to wear to dinner any more, at least not in America. Blame it on the rise in the lower middle class that can now afford a vacation
  10. was also were onboard 1/14-1/20, got sick with stomach cramps and runs afternoon of 1/19, on and off doses of Imodium for the next every other day and took till late 1/27 until I was normal again. So based on the data points I am seeing i now understand that i must have caught it just as it was starting on that ship. Based on my understanding 1/14 - 6 day; then 1/20 - 8 day; next cruise 6 day Noro in full effect. So I would bet 1/20 cruise had a number of cases showing up early on also. Explains what I suspected I may have had all along. Funny thing wife never was sick. In 40 cruises only the 2nd time I was sick on a cruise. Carnival Glory in 2019, but it was just for 2 days and then by 3rd day, disembarkation I was fine but wife was ill for that day and the next 2 days. Good thing I could drive us home.
  11. @Eastern flygirlwhich recent sailing had the Nuro?
  12. must have been the only Head Waiter who hadn't yet received less than a 10 on his survey. he won't last long with that attitude
  13. Everyone has to decide on the price break that works for you, but the value is almost No kids, mostly respectful not loud obnoxious adults, beautiful setting, even better service that other areas. I'd value the meal at $50 per person easily, surf and turf steak was as good as at chops and there was no cost for the extra lobster we were asked if we wanted. Other considerations, in my opinion are how many and what size ships that day and how soon do you want to get there on that day.
  14. that truly s@&ks. Another reason to always pick your room rather than try to save $50
  15. Did you say something, No corkage fee was ever supposed to be charged for any wine that came from Royals stock. No corkage fee on your amenity wine or that won in an on-board contest.
  16. Until they institute a charge for the delivery of Continental Breakfast / Coffee
  17. Finally, I've been thinking they should do this even before the shutdown. Now with the 5 anytime vouchers there is really no reason to have to get into a less crowded lounge, especially since you don't get free drinks. I guess one could say you lose access to the Suite Concierge, but personally I've never really need the extra help on anything, except when I was in a suite and that was pre-cruise show & dinner reservations, along with cutting lines at ports & disembarkcation. BUT I'm prepared for all the complaints coming
  18. not a problem , include it in there fare, rules are different in Briton as they can't reprice either, just like you pay VAT in Europe.. Again why adjust for the minority, the VAST majority of cruise lines income come from bookings within the USA.
  19. And here is the real problem - they let people remove them so we all pay more. Don't belive it check the lines a GS the last night and then move to a location where you can hear a little, lots are being removed. It is just plain wrong, MAKE those charges MANDATORY. If not part of the cruise fare, then at least mandatory. No one is able to remove the 18% from their bar tab. Just like going to a land based restaurant with a larger group, most automatically charge you for gratuities. Saw someone argue with a restaurant manager about it once, he finally said pay or I'll call the police. End of story. Make it mandatory.
  20. In my opinion all the cruise lines should stop allowing this practice. I have never heard one justifiable reason for allowing this.
  21. It is very dependent on who is looking at the security/3d/xray scanner at the specific pot of embarkation. I personally at 35+ cruises on various lines have ever had anything confiscated. But YMMV
  22. Pre-covid or Post-covid, I have never had a problem when asking the first night for specific brand of liquor to be brought in, if the actually have on the ship, nothing exotic. 9 out of 10 time the bartender will bring a bottle the next night. Yes, they will get it from the bar.
  23. Diamond Voucher Count Spotted on Receipt At Playmakers on Oasis it actually printed out on both the copy i signed and duplicate that was provided to me. Signing was a little hit or miss, but none of the other bars I signed at, Boleros; Schooner: Spotlight, had a count on the receipt like the one below has
