  1. For a cruise that long, you are probably better off to do 2 one-way car rentals.
  2. The current image on google maps in front of the Budget office is dated July 2022.
  3. I have personally used the Budget shuttle from the car drop off to the ship on my last cruise. In addition, on the street view that is currently on google maps, you can see one of the vans that they use next to the entrance of the return car lot that has Avis and Budget markings on the van.
  4. Assuming you were booked on Holland's Nieuw Statendam.... Key West was originally showing this ship and the Celebrity Summit to dock on January 15. Since there is currently only one pier handling ships of this size, one of the ships had to be cancelled.
  5. You might want to check if Avis or Budget has cars available. Their have a shared parking lot for their downtown offices (89 2nd St / 99 2nd St) and a van that will shuttle you to the ship.
  6. If you are renting through Hertz, you need to drop off at the downtown (2nd Street) location. Even before covid, Hertz did not offer a shuttle from the airport location.
  7. Generally the 2nd night, and the night that falls before the last night of the cruise. Example - If you depart on Saturday, and return Sunday, expect the formal nights to be Monday and Friday.
  8. Almost all of the negotiated fares used by the cruise lines today are filed by the airline with ATPco that allow the cruise lines to book seats at a discount off the regular fare if the airline has seats available in specific fare buckets (generally, the lower priced ones, but each airline is different). In the meantime, the airlines will release seats into the lower priced fare buckets if they feel a flight is not selling well. They use computer algorithms to help determine if a particular flight is selling well. If necessary, they will add more inventory to the lower price fare buckets to help stimulate demand for a particular flight. Thus, it is possible for the OP to see the price they originally had seen to come back, but it is also possible they will never see the fare again. Generally, the best fares for leisure travel can be found 4 to 7 weeks out before departure, and there is plenty of time between now and the 4 to 7-week window of when the OP's cruise departs. That being said, I would keep checking every couple of days at least until a better price becomes available at least until you find a good fare, or mid to late April.
  9. Amtrak generally has 1 train per day. I would not want to rely on the train arriving on time. Greyhound has 3 to 5 buses per day depending on the day of the week. Ourbus also has 1 or 2 buses per day. However, by the time you take an uber or taxi from the airport to the bus station, you may find that you are better off just taking the uber or taxi directly to Tampa. The Uber price estimate I pulled for the full trip (one-way) is in the $100 (Uber X) to $150 (Uber XL) range.
  10. I believe there is a service charge if you use your sign and sail card to obtain chips at one of the tables. However, if you use your sign and sail card to fund a bankroll on one of the slot machines, then there is no fee.
  11. The system is not counting the first cruise - 6 days for either of you toward your total VIFP points accrued until you are actually on it. If you end up being a no-show, you will not accrue the points. Consequently, the 8-day 2nd cruise is enough to make you platinum without the first leg, so it is showing you as platinum on that leg, as you technically become platinum on the first day of the voyage that encompasses your 75th night. If you log in to Carnival on the day the first leg ends, the system should show both of you as platinum at that time. Also, since your cards are printed before the actual embarkation date, it's very possible your DH will receive a gold card on the 2nd leg, but can go to the guest services desk if he wants his to switch it to a platinum one on the 2nd leg.

  13. OV7 is a casino rate. We have 2 cabins booked on an upcoming cruise on the Conquest, in an aft wrap (Vista Balcony) and the connected bowling alley balcony cabin (which Carnival prices as a regular balcony).. The bowling alley balcony cabin was booked under the OV7 rate code, and includes a $500 OBC in my name as the lead guest. The aft wrap was booked under a different casino code in my wife's name that allowed the aft wrap to be booked at much cheaper than normal rate, with a $100 OBC. In addition to the 2 lead guests, my daughter is currently listed as the 2nd guest in my wife's room, and my son in law as the second guest in my room.... I will be switching with my daughter once on board. Had we listed either my daughter (currently VIP gold status) or her husband (never cruised before -- blue status) as the lead guest in either room, the cost of either cabin would have been much higher than what we paid, and would have only included $50 OBC for the corresponding cabin. Another way you can tell if you are booked on a casino rate is by looking at the confirmation email you get when you book or when you make a payment or change on an existing booking.... You will see the following message on the cabin confirmation email in the "Guest Notes" section seen toward the bottom of the terms and conditions: "A valid and qualifying VIFP number is required."
