Really enjoyed my evening pizza on QE last week. Only downside was the amount of ingredients crossed out on the order slips.

Strange way of referring to that benefit! To be honest think I’d rather have the on board spend anyway!

What is the diamond lunch? Is this the lunch at verandah/alternative dining or something different?

How was the Cunard dress code adhered to in the South Pacific? White dinner jackets? DJ/tux at all?
Much better than when we were on board from Barcelona to Singapore at the end of last year.

Completely agree with @sfred. The team in PG were superb. Stanley, I think has to take a lot of credit for this, I’m sure not long before he dons the grey tie of senior maitre D’. You must have been very close to us as we had Nell and Alma occasionally serve us but Alvin and Khosi were our main ones, also brilliant.
The only con I found was the housekeeping team that seem obsessed with keeping hold of “their” glasses from the room and were desperate not to replace them if we dared to take them out for a drink and leave them in a different location!

So probably one for @bluemarble or another aficionado. Is this the closest the 3 Queens have been to each other in sometime?? All in the same country’s water’s albeit a very big country!

They are offered on QE too BUT top tip from receptionist, book on the first as they often get cancelled. I can attest to this as mine has now been cancelled three times and now won’t happen at all!
Have no idea whether they just didn’t get enough interest but getting vague “operational reasons” and “unforeseen circumstances” as reasons is a bit pathetic. Just be honest!

How odd!

Why not pour your drinks in your cabin and take them to a public area?
Well you may face the wrath of housekeeping! We always do this but for some reason on this cruise it has become a problem when we take “housekeeping” room glasses out into the “F&B” areas!

Boarding tomorrow and had email today stating that it was on board and they are stepping up their “already robust disinfection measures”.
-
Has anyone been on board QE recently? We were on in November and there were quite a few machines out of service which meant it was quite tough to get a machine. Possibly exacerbated by the length of the voyage.

I know it is (sort of) discretionary but surprised they can change this after you’ve made a booking in anticipation of the previous level of charges?

Cunard are obviously looking after our US friends. If that’s US dollars? That equates to roughly £9000 for P1 where as it’s £11000 on the UK site!

I would say probably not unless you get very lucky with the weather. There are some sheltered spots but nothing inside. Drinks wise there are only water and juices but the staff up there will get you drinks from the bar (at your expense!). It is quite open so even if it’s sunny if there is any wind it can rip through. Maybe wait until on board and check it out?

MSC’s world cruise has shifted away from Red Sea. As published 8 hours ago. However, Silversea’s Silver Moon is currently transiting the Red Sea.
Many cruise lines have already adjusted away from the area. QM2 would be capable of outrunning pirates I imagine but without naval escort I doubt Cunard will risk it.
Speed is an advantage even with a change. QM2 could feasibly round the cape and make Dubai with minimal disruption if necessary. Though it would cost more to run her at high speed for many days.
Unfortunately the Houthi pirates are using air and sea based drones, missiles and helicopters so not much chance of outrunning those!

And they will have a staff member sat at a desk just past where you scan you card as you get onboard to declare and hand over any alcohol - but the staff member will be sat there twiddling their thumbs as nobody has handed over anything at all all day.
Can’t say I’ve ever noticed them🤣

Often on Azura canaries cruises the security is carried out by the port authority so they won’t stop you taking alcohol on board. Enjoy the sun!

However it is only the extra venues which seem to be affected. So the vast majority of customers are not affected. Foe example on Azura only 10% of passengers a use the Epicurean even working at full capacity. If it were affecting the MDR you may have a point.
Disagree with you here, if there are restrictions on all the “extra” venues then this of course puts more pressure on the included venues. The buffet is absolutely rammed.

You just fell very very unlucky
I’d love to think that’s true but unfortunately I think it’s one of the downsides of having fantastic wifi. Happened on Queen Elizabeth last month too. Would love to see a policy similar to airlines that basically bans calls/video calls in restaurants and relaxing areas but we are probably a way off that.
100% non-refundable cruise fare?
