I'll wager there were negative things said about your other cruises by someone somewhere as well. As an experienced cruiser you should know to take it all with a grain (shaker) of salt and just go and enjoy yourselves. My humble opinion.

There will probably be a pricing change as the person the booking was made under will not be there if she is allowed to sail at all. There is a big difference between no show for 2nd passenger vs main passenger.

True but Carnival guidelines are very clear when it comes to the Person who booking is made under having to sail, pricing can change if the person who the offer was for is not sailing. I for one would hate to have them "show up" as everyone is suggesting and them being told they wont be allowed to board. Showing up is fine if the person who cancelled is NOT the person the booking is under. Not so fine otherwise.

There is a big storm door that gets shut so you cannot go out onto the balcony and to keep water out. As @Jsglow said its rare to see them closed.

Cruise cash is digital as well you dont actually get a card. Once you purchase it will automatically show up on your account as Credit when your oboard. Not before. I usually only buy like 100 cruise cash for my kid's spending money onboard so they know how much they can spend. It is use it or lose it but you can take out the balance in the Casino so its not a big thing to worry about unless you forget. Also, It is limited to 500 dollars so if your wanting more than 500 i would buy the AARP cards. Ive never used the AARP cards cause they dont sell them in Canada but i understand you just go to Guest services once onboard with the printout of the numbers and they will add them to your account whenever you like. You can also use them before you board to pay off your cruise or to pay off items you want to purchase before your cruise so again better than the cruise cash in that regard.

Unsure how you can pay off your cruise and prepay items with them if you cannot put them on your account ahead of time?

Because you were not the person who booked the cruise. as stated if you use a TA Carnival will only talk to them. Sorry your just now being made aware of what someone else did to you.

depends on which specialty dining as some may be sold out and unable to rebook online. Steakhouse you can do on board and save your self the wait times for refund as it will come back in form of original payment. Ive never dealt with gift cards so i couldnt say whether they would send you card in mail or just email you digital card.

Its way more than i get from Carnival in terms of cabin selection and OBC and i only play onboard so they should already know my playing history without a land based casino card.
