  1. Hi Megan, First, thanks for posting this review! I have some questions for you as I am sailing Scarlet Nov 25: 1) How long was the dinner service from time you sat down until leaving? I've heard 2+ hours is norm 2) Were most people wearing PJs and are most in G to PG rated pjs? Or sexier? Silly question haha but have no idea what to expect or wear next week. 3) What time does the party die down? I am hoping for party scene but have heard things die around 1 am Thanks again and take your time responding as I know you are enjoying your vacay.
  2. My last cruise was on Oasis of the Seas in April and they had a pretty good cash game with a live dealer. Looked like lots of fish at the table just playing for fun. It was 2/5 NL. I didn't get in the game because there was a waitlist for seats and my ADHD in a casino and on a cruise doesn't allow me to sit and wait. I can't speak on free cruise as a prize in tourny but do know they had a tournament one day. I didn't go because it was during day. Hope this helps.
  3. I can't speak for the longer cruises that run over the NYE holiday, but I did a 3 night cruise on Royal over NYE right before COVID and it was a huge party. I can't recall seeing many children. But, I didn't have any kids with me and was with a buddy so wasn't paying attention. On NYE, the night club was lit up and most people dressed up. My wife and I are doing the Liberty this NYE (and not taking our kids). It is a 3 nighter as well. In my experience on all the cruise lines, the shorter duration cruises tend to have more adults and party people. Whereas, the longer cruises still have some party people but definitely more families.
  4. Keep submitting using the link. I had same experience and after the 3rd submission, I received an email saying "Congrats, Sea-Rover."
  5. I did the same thing when booking a French Mediterranean cruise next summer. The NCL cost was $4200 for a balcony room (of course free drinks included and some other "freebies") and the cost of VV on the Scarlet Lady was $3300 for central sea terrace. So, we booked the VV of course. Another thing I love about VV is the way they structure port stops. For example, my wife and I did the Greek Isle cruise on NCL last summer and every stop was rushed. Mykonos we could have stayed all day and night and, instead, were there 9-4 or something ridic. I saw that VV goes to Mykonos all day and night. For the French Med cruise they hit Mallorca and Ibiza from 5 p.m. to 4 pm the next day. That lets you experience the party atmosphere and bars both offer and do beaches/sight see some in the day. Perfect! It is a no brainer and still wondering why more aren't booking VV at the price its listed. (save if you have kids).
  6. I am signature (thanks last cruise) and haven't paid for a cruise since before COVID (I get JS and balcony offers weekly) so would say its more than worth it if you are going to gamble anyway and can afford to lose the money. Heck, sometimes (25-30% I come off as winner lol). Anyway, I don't play slots (ever unless "free" play) but my wife does occasionally. For reference, I usually have a budget of $1000/day and 5000 max per cruise. With that said, my tip to you is to ensure you interact with the casino pit boss at the table games and make sure that they know you and are watching. I also think being kind and fun and tipping the staff after good wins helps (I could be totally lying to myself). A final tip is to cash in chips and re-buy using cash. Example, you win 1000 in chips at BJ and then use those chips at craps...they don't rate you same as you throwing down 1000 in cash. Again, to second another poster, sometimes I have lost thousands and received very few points and on another trip I took them for thousands and had tons of points even though I didn't put much money through. So, be careful chasing status but sounds like you are experienced gambler with reasonable expectations.
  7. the cruise will appear but it sometimes takes a few hours to a day. I think after you get off phone with them it has to go through some final verification step before showing up on your account. I just booked 2 offers Sunday and they didn't show up until Monday. However, I had the email confirmation immediately.
  8. Hello - sorry about the private show debacle. Can you offer any advice/tips to try and get invited or is it sheer luck? What exactly is the "private show?" My wife and I are sailing Scarlet in November for first time and like to party and have fun so probably in line with you and your wife. Thanks for any tips.
