  1. While I've done the thermal spa in the past, I can't remember if they gave you flip flops to wear like many other spas. We have 2 weeks in Alaska following our cruise on the Jewel in May ans I'm trying to keep my wife from over packing.
  2. The train has not yet opened. Best best is to rent a car and drive.
  3. Keep in mind that you want to bring more if you're in the Haven or Suite to take care of the Butler and Concierge.
  4. Why would the ADA apply to a foreign flagged ship unless it's departing from a US port? On a slightly separate note, the ADA does not require a business to accommodate service "animals". It requires you to accommodate service dogs and miniature horses. That's it. Doesn't matter how well you trained your service monkey, it has no protection.
  5. Incorrect. It's distributed by Coke in a few area of the US, by Pepsi in some areas and on their own (with 7up and others) in other regions. For example, you can get Dr Pepper in McDonald's in some states while others will have Mr Pibb.
  6. What are your thoughts on DCL for a couple in their late 40s with no kids. One loves Disney and Disney history. The other is somewhere between tolerating it and liking it. Based in the Orlando area within sight of nightly Magic Kingdom fireworks, Disney plays a big role in our lives. We normally sail NCL Heaven but have become disappointed with the level of service on out last 2 trips. We currently have 3 Oceania cruises booked. Tyia
  7. Maybe I'm just an uncaring jerk but the OP has to take some responsibility for the results as well. We're adults. We have to be able to allow for bad situations, changes in plans, etc. You can't simply get to Rome and be "lost". No nanny is going to swoop in and save you. A simple Google flights search will give you all the options to get to Athens. Missing the connection is bad and not the OP's fault. Being stuck in the wrong city for days is.
  8. From the title, I thought this topic was going to be about obnoxious people in the pool.
  9. Don't even bother with the waiter. They're poorly paid service workers with no authority or input on the decisions. Be kind to them. However, feel free to share your feelings with the restaurant manager and escalate to the F&B Manager. Far too often they throw the front line workers under the bus and hide from a guest instead of politely addressing the issue.
  10. Totally off topic and I apologize but I get a kick of people dating DC is in thr Northeast when it's south of the Mason-Dixon line.
  11. It really depends what you like. Personally, as a history buff, I'd go with the 2nd. Rhodes is fantastic and I think we can all agree the history of the sites in Israel is incredible.
  12. Funny you say that. I looked at the menu and thought it was a pretty weak selection of Scotch for a Whiskey bar.
  13. Condolences on writing the worst post on the site. Why go out of your way to try and make someone nervous about an expensive vacation? Not to mention, some of us like the ship. It may have the best Haven in the fleet and Posh is fantastic and included for Haven guests. If you don't like the ship, you can simply act like you're over 5 and scroll by.
  14. Simple solution: after the Specialty restaurant, go to the MDR. After the MDR, go to the Haven Restaurant (if you are in the Haven). Next, go to the buffet. I'm not suggesting you actually eat at all the places. Maybe just half a fork full of whatever you order. I'm simply suggesting that you play by NCL's rules.
  15. Been a few years since I was working regularly in Copenhagen and did the trip. If I recall it's only overnight from Copenhagen to Oslo and back. However, there's another ferry from Oslo to Friedreckshaven north of Copenhagen. You can then drive or take the train south to Copenhagen.
  16. Maybe it's because they're closer to the seafood than the cattle ranch?🤔
  17. Private tour, just my wife and I. I told him some of the things we wanted tk see and our interests and he did it custom for us.
  18. We had an amazing private tour on Rhodes last October. One of the top 5 guides we've ever had. Fully customizable, private all day tour was $250. Edit: found the name. Mike from Rhodes Leisure.
  19. Exactly the same wording they keep using on NCL. I guess Jr learned it from Daddy.
  20. Love the little notice at the bottom that tests are $99ea. Why not just grow a pair and ban them? That's what the order essentially does.
  21. Totally disagree. NCL isn't going anywhere. Nor are the other 3 major players. Much like the post-911 airline situation, the only ones truly in danger are the creditors. At some point, the cruiseline holding companies with refinance to extend their debt. Eventually, if it become too much they'll delist and either go bankrupt or to private equity. November was the busiest month for bookings in the company's history. They have a track record of profitability. Wall St is not going to let them disappear.
  22. Just don't want you to mistakenly drink bad scotch when there are so many good ones out there.
  23. Just an FYI- Monkey Shoulder is a (bad) blended Scotch. Monkey 47 is German Gin
  24. Of course my cruise is 5 months and 23 days away. Oh well, win some, love some.
