The bag with beers (or water, soda, Truly) are from the 'gifts and gear' section.  Not like getting a bucket of beer.  I highly doubt they are offering a discount on anything to refill your 'gift bag'.

They did back in 2016 as the bag is included in that price. Just trying to find out if anyone has done it recently 🙂

I don't know that they'll refill it. We got it with the water and love the bag, but never thought of getting it refilled....

The first time we bought this was in 2016 I am pretty sure and they did refill it for less money. I think you pay for the bag the first time too so drinks are less. Not sure if they still do it now though.

    Ok...what?

It's because we are not permitted to discuss covid on here.  3 years later...

We really shouldn't as how many ask if they have a virus can they cruise?

The point is no one comes on here and asks about other virus', only covid. Covid is a just a virus now and needs to be treated like one. No extra care needs to be taken anymore for it.

When I asked this question in another topic, it really hit a nerve with some people..so I thought I would ask it here instead.

The cruise lines charge extremely large amounts of money to buy alcohol. In some cases these drink packages can add 50-60% (per person) in addition to the cost of your stateroom.

Why are you willing to pay so much for something you don't even need?

Why not save all that money for another cruise?

It seems to me that they're exploiting you, and you just go along with it.

Because I like to try different drinks and know if I don't like it, I don't have to pay for another one. This is an expense that we include in our cruising and would never go without. Many save to spend on jewelry on cruises or other high priced items which we don't care for and want or need. It all goes by your needs and wants. You can say that about anything in life and actually I think it is a waste of money to go to bars on land when you can buy a bottle and make drinks at home. On vacation my money is "vacation" money. I have worked hard and don't want to worry about a thing and if I want something, I will get it. On land, I am super frugal.

I kind of feel like you just want to stir the pot for whatever reason....maybe you get entertainment value out of it. I don't drink alcohol so I don't spend money on it, but I agree with other posters who've said everybody chooses to spend money on something that's a 'waste' to somebody else.

    Examples:

I think getting a fancy new cell phone every couple of years would be a waste of MY money, but I know tons of people that do it. I have a Tracfone I pay $20/month for and only replace if it breaks.

I think upgrading to a bigger, better, nicer house would be a waste of MY money, but just about everybody I know has. I live in a 1,000 sf fixer upper.

I think spending money in the casino would be a waste of MY money, so I don't do it.

I think paying for specialty dining when I've already paid for dining would be a waste of MY money, so I rarely do it.

I like to book ship excursions rather than on my own, which lots of CCers swear is a waste of money, because it's worth MY money to me.

I like to pay for spa treatments on a cruise even though a lot of people think they are overpriced and a waste of money, because I think it's worth it for ME.

I bet OP spends on lots of things that I, and others, would consider a waste of money. WHY do you do that??

PS I also don't have children. I can't see the logic of how having children gives you a good return on investment. What if they turn out to be terrible humans?? What a WASTE of money that would be!

The poster knows that and was just saying that going from $40 to $45 in Manhattan was still a bargain by Manhattan standards.

The price increases in both Manhattan and Bayonne have already taken place on 4/1 and 5/1, respectively.

    Ahhh ok, thank you.

there are other palapas in the water near it that have tables to put your drinks on depending on the tide. When we first got there, the tables were just underwater. Who’s left, the tables were too high above the water to use. Fun just to hold onto and chat though. There are other floats that are anchored there too. Funny to watch people try to get on them.

Oh wow that sounds cool, thanks 🙂

I think you missed the fact that I said, including gratuity.  However, to be fair, you are not wrong, cocktails can easily ring up at $14 before gratuity as well depending on how fancy you get . 🙂. My cocktails were pretty simple.  Most beers are consistently $7.49 to $7.99 before gratuity.

Ahh ok, thank you. I love the drink package as I can try things I wouldn't at home and have to pay $15-$17/drink.
