No worries there. It looked like a virtual mosh pit in front of the DJ in the pool last month.

Not my thing but that's what great about Cococay. You can chill on multiple beaches, snorkel, party at the pool, or chill at the pool. We have a spot we like that's not too far from the pool bar and we can hear the music from a nice distance without being "in the party." Also a short walk to both a snack shack and Chill Grill, both of which I'm a huge fan.

Yeah I want to experience both so it sounds like we can do that there 🙂

So you didn't actually go to (or even really see) any of the beaches or the pool, and you were disappointed? I'm sure I would be disappointed with Coco Cay as well if all I did was the tram ride.

These posts worry me as I have been to Labadee and love it and first time going to Cococay and have watched videos and it looks just as good. I am looking forward to the party atmosphere at the pool though and some beach time as well. It seems they were someplace else than what I have seen.

I see a problem over the last year or so:  a person asked a question here, and then other posters have to "qualify" whether the OP is "entitled" to ask that question, based on some sort of personal yardstick.

I've experienced it; I've seen it many, many times, and IMO everyone is entitled to ask a question here without judgement calls being made on their humor (or lack thereof), parenting skills, income level, health-related opinions, and..............

People have a habit of saying/posting, "Oh, get a grip, it's just a joke", when in reality it's really criticism, mean-sirited negativity, and cyber-bullying.

    YMMV and JMO

They asked a question, people answered. One funny thing thrown in about bringing along grandparents which they took offense to (how was the person supposed to know they didn't have any and why would you actually get mad at that?)

Then the poster said this (maybe why they were mad at that comment):

This is helpful. I’m super frustrated with the rccl website. They make it seem like basically anyone under 3 has no options other than having a parent there full time, and no late night watching.

Parent of 2 that didn't get a break until the kids were basically old enough to stay home alone or be alone on a cruise. That's the sacrifices we make to have kids. Shrug.

I'm sorry for your loss.  Both of my grandmothers are deceased.  We all have different life experiences.  However, when someone uses the word grandma, for me, it brings back good memories.... even if the person doesn't know if they're alive or not.

If I have committed the unforgivable sin, please block me using the "Ignore" feature built in to the Cruise Critic message board platform.

Wow, this board has become so serious lately lololol

I appreciate your concern but I've checked it with my lawyer (who has defended me for over 27 years in business and personal contract needs) and he's given me the green light as of Saturday.

It's not significant enough money to stress about it.  Folks spend more at the casino in a year of cruising.  I've never paid for a drink package, an excursion, travel insurance or anything of the sort -- I'm not worried about a $20,000 low risk.

My first cruise is December 2022, so plenty of time to see how things go.  I have friends who are unvaccinated who are boarding mid-August already.  They just booked a cruise on Saturday, called in and reported their status and will be reconfirming everything next week.  They aren't worried either.

Unvaccinated going on RCCL? Under 6 nights I assume or got an exemption.

As I've posted before, I cruise/travel and wear a mask.

Problem is that it's impossible to wear a mask while eating. Taking a mask off in the dining room would be like your taking off your helmet in traffic, not a good idea.

Also, wearing a single layer cloth mask is like wearing a bicycle helmet to ride a motorcycle.

How do you eat out on land?

You runners are great. We have always been the ones cheering you on and throwing whatever the team needs from the cheap seats. Still brings a huge smile to my face thinking about our past Quests. Never gets dull and never the same. Even when it's the same challenges. Even on B2B cruises. It's the all about the different people that get caught up in the moment of Quest.

Yup, different on every cruise. You never laugh so hard in your life when going to this. I will miss it on my next cruise.

So funny story for you @hazeleyes46.  Years ago I was on Indy on a two week cruise from Southampton going down the Spanish/Portugal coast.  I was travelling with all my kids and our best friends and their kids.  They decided to tell the waiter in the main dining room how much I love mudslides and sure enough EVERY night there was a huge plate of mudslides on the table.  So I guess I should have listed that's another place to get them----in the main dining room if you ask your waiter in advance.   I knew this was a recipe for disaster and try as I might the waiter somehow decided that a great tip was tied to this huge supply of cookies.  Knowing this would be a huge weight gaining cruise, I resolved myself not to each any except at dinner and to walk and exercise multiple times a day and I actually ended up losing weight on a two week cruise all because I was concerned I would put on weight from the Mudslides every day lol.  Now that I'm older I don't that that strategy would work as well I'm afraid.

that is great. Yeah I guess there IS the gym so we can eat and drink as much as we want to lololol

People lose their minds over the Coconut cookies as much as chocoholics do over the Mudslides.  I knew you were going to say that one, that's the other one you find people hunting down lol

I have tried to bring a home a bag.  Alas, they never made it home.

yeah that is the problem as it is hard for them to actually make the trip home lolol. I will have to look for the Mudslides. Trying to lose weight now to eat all these goodies 🙂

for those of us that contracted covid onboard the ship, that philosophy does not hold h2o...The captain begged folks to don their masks and we had to sit there and watch hundreds of folks laughing and making jokes about the captain's wishes ......Got very very  sick and i dont things are "back to normal" unless you condone watching people suffer like we did.....

    This was recently?

They are a little too addicting.  TO be honest, sometimes I'm happy when I can't find them as I've had too many and I need a break.  There's something like crack in them I swear lol.  For chocoholics anyway.

My favorite is the Coconut Ranger. I have actually had a coworker bring me home a bag when she cruised lololol

People swear there's no difference in slots from the first night to the last, but my experience has been pretty consistent that I do much better on the first 2 nights than the remainder of the cruise. I play the Ten Hand video poker.

Agree. They pay out the first 2 nights the most.
