  1. The more relevant question in my case is can I afford it. We could afford the price we paid in Oct. '22 but not the current pricing. Whether it's worth it is relative. I know we'll want to cruise her again just by the reviews, but we'll need to plan better and save a lot of money if we do. There are plenty of places still on CoCoCay where you can be almost the only peeps around, you can take the tram to all of them now. I've been searching for the perfect ship for our 30th in 2026 but Xcell, Celebrity's newest Edge class ship is a fraction of the new Star of the Seas or Icon. So it'll probably have to be her.
  2. I just watched a video that interviewed a couple who stayed in the Surfside balconies and they said there was no significant noise associated with kids as everyone is afraid of there. I'd go for it, they're nicely done up cabins. And come back and tell us about it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wx4tQgm-7BQ at approx. 4:30 on the video
  3. That sounds really helpful. In 31 cruises there have been many time I've walked up to where my cabin was and realized, wrong end or side, etc. Usually do my baby flip flop magnet but its getting old 🤪
  4. WE're done with Caribbean ports too, been there done everything, just chill on a new ship!
  5. We're looking at it for our Jan.1, 30th anniversary but also looking at the inaugural, ain't scared o'no Hurricane! Excited to see the next one and whatever sculpture they're gonna put on the Lido!
  6. We've done GS on the small ships twice on shorties, never the big ships or longer cruises....looks like we've already waited way too late! 😥 Our cruise buds did the loft this summer and she's already said, nothing but the lofts for us from now on....I just said, good we can live on your balcony when we cruise!
  7. That's what I'm thinkin....but we need to save more pennies. LOL
  8. OK my first is always a mojito, but I think I'll spring for the 1400 since its right there when we board! Again thank you guys and to all who are cruising again tout suite, YOU LUCKY DOGS YOU!
  9. Hey, did anybody have the 1400 Bars signature drink? With big bubble on top? Just wondered, looks interesting!
  10. I have no doubt we will love her based on this thread and You Tubers reviews, she is fabulous. I am looking at Star for our 2026 anniversary...it's steep but I have an idea we will want to repeat our Sept. booking.
  11. It's their signage, not mine....tomAto tomato, I just wanted others to know you can get out other doors but through Playmakers.
  12. I love love love that song! Now which of you kids is going to book her again? And remember......Sleep is for the weak! 😉
  13. I don't think it was good design though sticking Playmakers in like it was an afterthought, but we'll be sneaking out through the track.
  14. Which is also called the outdoor promenade and you can enter the inside anywhere there are lots of doors to the jogging track/promenade. I do not plan to exit through Playmakers. That's what the large double sliding doors in Absolute Zero are for and the signage over them says Exit to Promenade.
  15. Except that is incorrect. There are two other exit points at either side of the rink that lead into the Promenade.
  16. Elegance like beauty is in the eye of the beholder.
  17. I'm stickin with Cloud 17, looked much quieter and more adult like than the Hideaway and nobody blocking your view at the glass! No kids either. Just like I suspected, kids are elsewhere.
  18. Back in the day on Splendor of the Seas, we hit a squall and captain asked lunchers to sit on the port side only in the MDR, I kid you not. Deck doors were locked until further notice...lots of Henrys were mighty busy that night in the halls, closet I've ever come to getting sick, but it was exciting. Ships are designed to take 12% heels I believe the Chief once said. I have sailed a 27' Catalina sail boat standing straight up on the gunnels, we had a swing keel but she kept upright no problem. I highly suspect the heel was not 18*, it just feels like it. That's almost on her side!
  19. Wonder if our cruise is too far out for an offer, I'd consider changing if the deal was good enough, maybe do Harmony and a 7 day instead of our 5 day.
  20. We cruise her March 23rd hope she's in better shape then...saw the You Tube vid...Wow! We are in ADA interior cabin, should be fine.
  21. Me too! Loved the Viking Crown, such a good view from there. We met Chris several cruises ago, great guy. Would love to pick his brain about the Casino program. We don't gamble much, I'm such a chicken, last bandit I played I stopped at $57 winnings! But may be willing to learn to secure points for a free cruise! Hubs split a pot of Texas Hold 'em once. I watch the Traveling Gamblers!
  22. For years I have complained about the chairs on all the ships, hate those little wicker chairs they used for the promenade, so painful! Does ANYBODY ever sit in them before they buy a thousand of them??? But even the slatted benches in Aqua Dome look extremely uncomfortable!
