  1. I have to give them a break in this climate. I have trouble with local eateries here too because of the recession and shipping woes. Heck, I usually have blood drawn with a butterfly needle in my hand because of the inability to find a good vein in my elbow....not so much now because of the needle shortage, that's right, they haven't had a shipment of those finer needles at our hospital in months! So they save the ones they have for children. I was glad to give one up, but they still had to dig around. An ordeal, but they had no choice. That's the world we live in now...so stuff like you report is just one more problem we have to get used to....sorta like the flight woes right now. 3rd world problems I guess. I'll put up with it, I love cruising.
  2. Thanks. Guess we'll just have to wait and see. Price was too good to pass up even for a 4 day, but just had to book it for a little getaway before the 7 day Odyssey in December.
  3. My bad, I messed that post up. We're doing the Coz run from Galveston in Sept. BTW I got the ship class chart from EatonDoolittle
  4. I've seen a chart that shows the black silhouettes of all the ships and their class, tonnage, complement etc. people have posted on here for many years... CANNOT find it on RCCL site. Anyone have one or can tell me where to find one? Thanks
  5. I'm just asking for review of Grandeur. I'm also looking for the ship chart that shows the black silhouettes of all the ships and their class, tonnage, complement etc. CANNOT find it on RCCL site, but have seen it lots of time on here.
  6. We're doing Grandeur same basic trip in Sept, never done her before...comments anybody??
  7. Wow have not read your review yet, but we had a fabulous cruise out of Galveston on her in March, one of our best. OK read it, so sorry it didn't meet your standards. We had wonderful service, great steward, good entertainment and were thoroughly pleased. It's an older ship so we were aware some things might be a little subpar, but were surprised when they were not. Ship was clean and well maintained etc. We've been cruising for 26 years mostly on RCCL. Very pleased, no complaints.
  8. Yeah, that's a new one on me! Maybe a different agent will give you a different answer! 😉
  9. I'm sure that covers the circumstances with our pricing adjustment that resulted in $600 reduction. It guarantees that you get the lowest price offered on your cruise. It all depends on if you've paid the cruise off yet. Since we had not the agent just adjusted our balance. Before we called it was in the $1600 range for final payment, now it shows an adjusted price on our billing page of $900 due at final. I was getting ready to pay it off when I saw Merion Mom's post! Pays to wait to the last minute. I have lots of time to snatch a reduction on our 2023 Wonder so hoping it happens.
  10. Not the case with our December Odyssey. It was non refundable as well as the Wonder 2023. She "adjusted" the pricing. I asked right up front if we would be penalized, the key word is "change". I didn't change anything, I just asked for the price adjustment. This was a price decrease. No problem!
  11. Here in Arkansas, the only place requiring masks are the Doctor's offices/hospital. And that's a joke really, the minute the doc comes into the exam room, both of us take them off! LOL The hospital group that runs the clinics is the culprit. My doc agrees they are pretty much useless.
  12. Today's check yeilded a few dollars...$17 down from our booking...not bothering. Waiting!
  13. I will be checking almost daily for my Wonder cruise next year. I have little hope because she is the newest ship, but I'm going to be vigilant!
  14. All I said was..."Hi, I think our cruise fare has just been reduced so I'd like an adjustment please." Voila, $600 richer! Yeah, I was stunned it was that much. So thanks to Merion Mom! The Wonder cruise had indeed gone up. I typically book a year or more in advance to get the best rate. For some reason, some cruises like our December Odyssey had gone down and it may be cabin category sensitive too. I guess we were extremely lucky. BUt I'm going to be checking the Wonder cruise at about the same time frame as Odyssey...maybe 3 or 4 months out and before final payment.
  15. I agree, we were a little disappointed with Tracy Arm and I always see the ice is a problem
  16. Only if you fly into Seattle. If you fly into Vancouver and out of Vancouver, it's a snap, grab a taxi and voila! And the Vancouver airport is absolutely beautiful! You are right if you have to get transportation from Seattle to Vancouver and back. We will not ever include Seattle in our Alaska plans again.
  17. We've been 3 times and have found that the Vancouver to Vancouver (best port) with Hubbard, (by far the best glacier) and if you can find it Icy Straight Point, we loved that one! is the best itin... in September, we usually take the last cruise of the season. Cheaper and Weather has been fantastic then. The only place we had to wear heavy clothing was at the glacier. You could wear shorts the other days in the afternoon. So you are able to conserve on packing. No having to co-ordinate an extra train or bus ride from Seattle to Vancouver either. And you can also have lovely accomodations at Canada Place in the hotel, just ride the escalator down to the ship whilst your bags are sent ahead for you! It's a snap boarding! The only little hitch is the customs at Vancouver when you return, but we didn't mind that at all. We did not like our Seattle departure at all. Planning our next one exactly the same for 2024 as soon as the schedule is out next March. I call the morning (early) its released in order to snag an aft. We feel this location gives you more opportunity for critter viewing, it's heaven! It'll probably be Radiance again, but we'd like to do a Quantum class if possible, but that's not as important as the point to point route. It avoids so many extra expenses if you avoid the north bound south bound itins. I'd also like to do Sitka which we haven't yet, but you can't have everything. Then there's the cruise/land excursions, but we never have enough time for those. That's our take, everybodies experience is always different. Do check the destination threads and see what others advise.
  18. I have it. You'll just have to check at all the RCCL shops on every cruise. They may revive it at some date, but I bought mine several years ago. Good luck.
  19. All I can say is, we are very satisfied and happy with Starlink.
  20. The deposits on ours was $100 but we got into trouble with the time limit. When they started that, it made it that much more difficult. So I do not do this anymore.
  21. OK Kid, I lied, completely wrong, you were right. Last year when we did our $500 reservation talk was that it would be $50 a month, but Todd told me last night we are indeed paying $110 per month. Sorry ya'll. My bad!
  22. Yes, that's the $14.99 per month thing I talked about. It includes Paramount too. And we have Prime with our Prime membership. But we payed our reservation ($500) for Starlink a year ago at least. We've had it for 1 month. So I suppose it was an initial offer.
  23. That's why we have 3, gold, clear and Delta. Got different benes with the different cards but I can't say cuz hubs takes care of all that. I just book the flights! And cruises.
  24. We buy literally everything with our Gold cards, and my hubs company IT, he makes pretty big purchases sometimes, servers etc so our points do rack up quickly, but we haven't paid to fly in about 20 years! Partner was Continental for years and then Delta now. That's our main perk with AMEX, we wouldn't think of not using it all the time. We have gotten some of these deals from time to time, but we love the frequent flyer miles!🥰
  25. Initial out put for the dish etc was $500 but we now pay $50 a month, then we pay for our services Hulu $15, already had Prime, Disney+ $5 and we are getting Philo which is my favorite for another $25 but with all that not counting the original $500, we are still saving $200 per month. We were using Directv through ATT service. We had only 150gb before so I would run out of data on my PC before the month was up, and movies were a problem, now no worries with that. Todays spd test:
