  1. I have never seen or heard of this dessert in Luminae and it's not listed on the menu for either of my upcoming cruises. Nor was it on Edge in March. Thanks for the video, btw.
  2. I've dined in Luminae on several cruises. They like to keep you with your "unofficially assigned" staff. I usually go the same time every night and it's never been an issue. One day I went to breakfast a little later than usual and my normal section was full so they sat me in a different section but my usual waitress attended to me, which I felt guilty about because it was so much extra work for her.
  3. I am so sick of having to chase after the points to be applied that I'm dropping this card after 20 years. It's just no longer worth the hassle. I got a new card that gives me a 2% cash discount on all purchases instead.
  4. Was the carpaccio sliced or ground? I remember ordering this in Luminae and it was ground beef and I did not care for it at all.
  5. Equinox is my favorite ship - I've been on her several times. Was on her last Tday in a suite and enjoyed the Retreat deck even tho there was no pool or bar. The staff were amazing with getting drinks and were always around. I'm sailing Reflection this Tday and am hoping the rumor of the new Retreat deck is true. Also doing Silhouette for Xmas. I did Edge in March and loved it but I still prefer the S class ships.
  6. I love sailing suites because of the special service, especially when I travel alone. I enjoy having the same waitstaff every time instead of being lost in the shuffle in the MDR. Dinner in Blu in Aqua for same reason. The Retreat lounge is nice when you want to grab a snack and avoid the craziness of the buffet and the Retreat deck is pure heaven on a crowded sea day.
  7. I sailed Edge in March and had a Sky Suite on the Magic Carpet path. We were in the one most forward and really enjoyed it because it had a window (glass) so you could see ahead without leaning out over the balcony. Also, we had rain one morning and the glass blocked our balcony from getting wet. I would book that suite again or the last one for the rear window.
  8. If I purchase the upgrade prior to the cruise do I still receive the Elite discount? Asking because its on sale on the website right now.
  9. Reflection is going into dry dock for 2 weeks in October for some light renovations: https://creative.rccl.com/Sales/Celebrity/General_Info/Flyers/12030112_CEL_FleetGuide.pdf
  10. Nothing major, no. But it doesn't take much to add a gate to that deck and then swap out the furniture for a Retreat area.
  11. Please let me know as I'll be on there for Thanksgiving.
  12. Someone had posted Reflection is doing a dry dock for a week or 2 in October and switching this to a Retreat deck at that time.
  13. Yeah, my phone likes to go comatose at the precise moment I need to show anything important so I always print out a copy. Plus, I've seen people touching other people's phones and I don't care for that. Gross.
  14. I've also heard they plan to convert a Retreat deck. I'm booked for Tday so I hope that's true.
  15. The Reflection is doing a "Bliss Cruise" on November 13th. It's a swingers cruise with clothing optional areas. I'm boarding the 20th. I don't even wanna know.
  16. I think the fact that Carnival puts a limit on your drinks tells you all you need to know about some of their guests. I can easily do 15 drinks a day when you count water, tea, soda, etc so I would not be thrilled with having it capped. Non alcoholic beverages shouldn't be included but that's one of the many reasons I don't sail Carnival.
  17. I use the app for adding events to my calendar. My favorite thing to do at breakfast is go thru the entire day adding a bunch of things to my calendar and then blowing them all off. The intentions are good but the follow thru, not so much.
  18. Do they have cameras on the balconies?
  19. So glad to hear this! (where is this info coming from btw?) I'm doing Reflection over T day. I had originally booked aqua class then upgraded to a SS when they were having a sale. I was bummed about not having a retreat deck but hearing this is awesome!
  20. After doing Aqua and Luminae I can never go back to the MDR. I like having the same staff every time I go there and the fact that they treat me special. Especially when I travel alone.
  21. This sounds like an Amazon day purchase!
  22. Even tho I enjoyed the chilled soups I always suspected they were just melted sorbet.
  23. I did it last November on Equinox and really enjoyed it. Pre Covid they were giving a tour of the kitchen plus a cookbook but we didn't get either of those. It was a really great meal with a LOT of food. It did take over 2 hours so plan for that.
  24. I am sailing Reflection in November - the week after the "Bliss cruise". Shudder. I'm really hoping they make a Retreat Deck.
