  1. I had one of these cabins on Edge - the 1st one from the bow. I liked having the window to see forward, which is a glass porthole in the wall. We were able to have breakfast out there one morning when it was raining without getting wet because of that wall/window. Some people complain about the big orange thing that obstructs some of the view but I loved this cabin and would book it again.
  2. If you are sailing solo in a suite I have heard you are allowed to invite a guest to Luminae for no charge. Is this true?
  3. It's a full ship chartered LGBTQ cruise: https://www.myvacaya.com/trip/caribbean-cruise-2023/
  4. The retreat deck on Equinox was nice because the servers came around frequently. You could order lunch/snacks from the Retreat menu and drinks. There wasn't a bar, pool or hot tub but attentive service compared to the regular deck areas. That's a big selling point to avoid the crowded deck and line at the bar on a busy sea day. With it not being a regular deck I'm pretty sure the servers don't go up there, therefore most people don't sit there.
  5. Same thing happened to me! I was originally booked as a solo cruiser then added a guest after final payment. The TA came back and said she was able to get the additional $300 OBC for my guest. The $ went into my account and I booked her a few things less than $300. Then the emails started saying I owed money. They even cancelled something I had booked weeks before adding her instead of the things I just booked. I never got the $ back and still think I got screwed over but whatever.
  6. I was "carded" my first day on Equinox when I went to the Retreat Deck. I walked in after someone held the gate open and the waiter came over and shyly asked for my room number with side eye. Maybe he didn't recognize my picture with the hat and sunglasses? That was the only time I was carded that cruise - they all knew me after that. It's amazing that they remember!
  7. Yeah, I get it. It would have been so easy to just add a key card gate and some signs tho.
  8. BOOOOOO! I was really hoping for a retreat deck. Guess I'll have to suck it up and hope my corner aft has shade when I want it.
  9. I'm sailing Reflection for Thanksgiving - I'm curious to see if they converted the top deck to Retreat or not.
  10. Check with your carrier for the rates. Here's an example of mine:
  11. You are the best! If you weren't already taken....I still wouldn't have a chance. Lol.
  12. Does anyone know the laundry prices? My friend is a flight attendant and will be embarking with dirty clothes after a few days of working. Will she be charged per item or is it per bag? I'm Elite and get 1 bag free but she'll be doing hers separate.
  13. I also had Vinod in Blu and then Luminae a few years later. He was wonderful.
  14. I take a box of candy bars (the ones the high school band sells for $1) and I pass out notes with envelopes. Just nice things like "I appreciate you" or "thank you" and I include cash ($5 to $20 in each). I pass these out the 1st night and again the last night in the dining room. When I'm on the Retreat deck and they are wearing masks and hats and sunglasses I cannot tell if they served me before (and were tipped extra) or not. So I ask, "Did you get one of these yet?" and show the candy. My way of cheating since I couldn't see their faces. My last cruise I slipped a note to our wonderful head waitress for a special request dedicated to my dad and the staff all came over to serve it. It was the anniversary of his death 2 years before and he loved escargot and bourbon Manhattans. The escargot was wonderful, the drink tasted like hairspray.
  15. We sailed Edge in March, arrived in the Retreat lounge around 10:30 am and it was packed. We were able to get the last 2 seats at the bar area and then boarded at 11. I was just curious since the other terminals aren't special, thanks.
  16. I'm sailing next month on Reflection and am wondering how the check in is set up for suite guests. I've sailed Edge before and used that wonderful Retreat lounge but since another E class is boarding that day it will get the good lounge. Do they take Retreat guests to a lounge in the other terminals or are the lines just split up like pre covid?
  17. Don't even get me started on their IT department. I have a cruise for next month as a solo and Saturday I called and added a friend. Paid the extra amount due, was told I would be getting more OBC, etc. I booked a few excursions, dinners, etc all with OBC. Then I get an email from Celebrity saying my excursions are going to be cancelled unless I call and give them a payment. I call the number that was given in the email and speak to 3 different agents, each one knowing less than the 1st. They tried to pawn me off on my TA even tho the email came from Celebrity. The items that were cancelled were more $ than the amount they claimed I "owed" and then I cancelled a spa treatment and that amount didn't go back to my OBC account. So after I speak to the 3rd person she says, "It was a glitch....its all worked out now" she put me on hold and then hung up on me. No, it's not worked out.
  18. This. Right. Here. This would be awesome. Sadly it would only be entertaining to the people who set it there since the culprits would of course be no where in sight.
  19. I heard you have to go to the Casino staff to sign up for Blue Chip, is that true?
  20. That's what that is for! Thank you. I was wondering. And I probably only noticed it AFTER I put my glasses back in my bag so I couldn't read it.
  21. This one sails on the 19th and most schools don't break until the 22nd. We'll see.
  22. I'm doing a 10 nt over Christmas and am hoping not many kids. Something I wasn't thinking about when I booked my 1st Xmas cruise.
  23. The Pacific is cold compared to the Atlantic so keep that in mind if you plan on swimming.
