  1. I've found it to be hit or miss. It may depend on the availability of speakers for each sailing and/or itinerary. A 10 nt cruise last year with more sea days had several of these planned but my last cruise was 7 nt/port heavy and I don't recall seeing any scheduled.
  2. They used to serve anyone over 18 when I first started cruising. But that was the 80's and before drink packages so.....
  3. I was on a cruise when a hurricane was heading up the East coast. Our itinerary changed so many times before we even boarded the ship. The day before we were supposed to be in Tortola (change from the original itinerary) we were sent to Port Canaveral. I was in the spa right after a massage when the announcement came on and I almost screamed out loud "NOOOOOO!!!!!". From that trip on I always considered the ports of call as a "plan that may change at any time".
  4. In my experience right after the Thanksgiving cruise is over. I've done at least 5 sailings over Turkey day and the ships weren't decorated when I left but when I've done early December sailings they had decorations. Unlike in the States when Halloween decorations are up in August and Christmas in October.
  5. The Edge class ships designed the Retreat Lounge to be self serve and eliminated bartenders. The Revolutionized M & S class still have the bar because they transformed Michael's into the lounge and kept the bar setup the same. I was on Equinox last year and did not notice if they had self serve beer but I do remember soda and water.
  6. This may be a holiday menu for Fine Cut but it's not a holiday menu for Murano. Someone in their IT department made a mistake. Spoiler alert: their IT dept makes a lot of mistakes.
  7. Someone posted these same menus on the forum I started asking the same question. These are not the special holiday meals for $122, these are the regular menus from the Fine Cut restaurant.
  8. I asked this same question the other day and no one had the actual menu.
  9. I booked a Christmas sailing a few months back and Retreat was sold out so I booked Aqua. Right after the 90 day mark a few suites opened so I called back and changed it. I recommend doing that over using the moveup option. Same for another sailing. I wanted a cabin higher up so I checked it everyday until one opened then had it changed.
  10. I've never seen this. Would it be under excursions? I usually stay on board in Cozumel but would love to do this.
  11. They just posted a "special menu for Christmas Eve in Murano" but without an actual menu. Has anyone ever done this? Reviews please.
  12. Shame on anyone that allows kids to be running the halls after 11pm. Just because you are on a ship does not mean you are safe from child predators. Plus its pretty darn rude, watch your crotch goblins!
  13. I take them back to my co-workers because I don't care about them enough to actually spend money on them. Sorry, not sorry.
  14. Since you have to show your card or give your stateroom number when ordering drinks I would hope the staff would do something about it at that point.
  15. 100% Especially if they are bringing children that cannot behave in an adult setting.
  16. How is the eggplant prepared? Is it crispy fried or baked with the sauce?
  17. Whenever I pack a long dress I hang it from the slots in the ceiling. Just remember it's there before you wake up and think you are being haunted.
  18. What drugs do people buy from the Pharmacy when going to Cozumel? I've heard Retinal because it's stronger than what you can get in the US. Any others? Not interested in anything illegal and I'm not a narc, FYI.
  19. I've sailed Equinox 4x (my favorite ship) and have also sailed Silhouette and Reflection (all S class ships). In total I have about 9 cruises on the S class in Concierge, Aqua and Retreat. I finally did Edge in March in the Retreat. I know I would not like the infinite veranda (my opinion). I usually sail alone so I will only do Aqua or Retreat for the personal attention given in the dining room. I want the same waitstaff every night and that is hard to do in MDR. Here's my breakdown. Equinox: Ship is older but still fresh and up to date after the revolutionizing a few years back. I love the layout of the ship and for me it's the perfect size and amount of passengers. Retreat: I especially like being able to order from the MDR menu in Blu or Luminae. The Retreat deck is lovely but does not have a hot tub, pool or bar area and limited shade but it was never crowded. The staff was very attentive bringing drinks and food and just checking in. The Retreat lounge has a bar with a bartender and other waitstaff which is more personal. There are coolers with sodas and drinks available all the time and light bites certain times of the day. Rest of ship: The martini bar has the frozen top which is nice after dancing in the silent disco - chill your hands then place on neck to cool down. I have dined in all of the specialty restaurants (except for Petite Chef) and they are always fabulous. I will sit by the pool or in the solarium on port days only because the crowds are gone. Edge: Beautiful ship designed especially with suites in mind. The ship is bigger and holds more passengers. The dining areas were a little confusing and that section of the ship just seemed deserted each time I walked thru (could have been my timing). Retreat: Luminae was much larger and a bit noisy and you cannot order off the MDR menu but there are certain items available everyday such as French onion soup and escargot. The Retreat lounge has a self serve bar area with wine and other spirits plus non alcoholic beverages - also small bites certain times of the day. The lounge also has an outdoor area with chairs located in the shade. The Retreat deck has plenty of shaded areas and a dedicated bar with bartender plus servers. There are also a few dining tables with chairs in the shade. The Retreat deck menu is the same on all ships. Edge does have hot tubs and a small splash pool with hanging chairs. Retreat deck was crowded on sea days but still plenty of options in the sun or shade. Rest of ship: I tried one of the 4 regular restaurants and the service and food were wonderful. The martini bar is much larger but missing the chilled top. I did not dine in any of the specialty restaurants but I've heard Eden is wonderful. We checked out the Magic Carpet on a sea day but it was too hot and windy to sit there. The carpet was not used to tender at any of our ports. I hope this helps you decide.
  20. I'm booked on a Christmas cruise and Murano and Tuscan finally opened yesterday with all time slots available every day of the cruise. Yesterday marked the cruise being 88 days out. Just keep checking - I've been looking every day since I booked last month.
  21. ***** will show you all the cabins available:
  22. I booked this online - the classic package was the only option. Confirmed when I called Celebrity to upgrade to premium. I will call the agency and ask why the premium package isn't included tho, thanks!
  23. I called Celebrity to upgrade to premium and they confirmed my price came with the Classic package. 1st time I've seen that too but I've never booked a Christmas cruise before. I'm thinking that's the reason.
  24. No, thru my regular on-line agency - just checked it again now:
  25. I'm booked for December in a Sky Suite and the price only included the Classic Package which I upgraded. Maybe because it's a holiday sailing?
