  1. OK No one else has said it so I will, Why did the folks at home even call you. I understand that once you were made aware of the emergency your vacation was over (you cant un ring the bell) BUT Unless you alone could solve this family emergency, it probably could have waited for your return.

I'm glade things turned out OK happy sailing in the future

  2. Although it does not apply to a foreign country, it does apply to a foreign flagged passenger cruise ship. In June 2005, the Supreme Court has ruled that any foreign flagged cruise ship that stops in an American port of call or has an American port of embarkation/disembarkation, the ship must be in full compliance of the Americans with Disabilities Act or they cannot legally dock in any of the United States ports.

The ship IS compliant---the foreign dock is not!

  3. I'm sure at some point in the early 90's, aerobics was cancelled, and there were plenty of people disappointed that they brought their leg warmers for nothing. They thought it was included in the fare price, now it's gone, were they ripped off?

You are paying for a specific cabin on a specific ship, for a certain number of days, intending to go to specified ports. Food and service are included. Anything else not in your contract, all the complementaries, you're not entitled to it. If the line no longer fits your fancy, or if there's better bang per buck elsewhere, by all means. Maybe OP would have switched, but the loyalists out there are kidding themselves.

How realistic is it for a cruise line (or hotel, or them park, etc.) to make a change and please everyone in the first place? If there's new fruit in the buffet, they can't realistically make 2 lines and sort out when each person booked, with the old fruit on one side and the new fruit on the other.

Also, how many of you would offer the cruise line money if there was a change in your favor, that you weren't expecting? "Captain, I didn't know the ship was going into drydock when we booked, I think we each owe Celebrity $150."

    huh?

  4. I am very sorry for your loss.

I might get flamed for this comment but if he is not able to or prepared to fly home between now and Friday (the end of the cruise) wouldn't the information just ruin the rest of his cruise?

I only say this as I myself learned of the death of my grandpa while I was cruising and all it did was ruin the rest of my cruise for me :(

IF I had found out the day I had disembarked instead it would have been a lot better...(I still had time to get the the funeral)

    agree

  5. The loyal platinum cruisers will always continue to sail. They complain, but they cruise. Its the NEW customers they are after(a much larger group then platinum cruisers) and are going to great length's to attract them. Its all about capturing more of the worlds vacation dollar, and they already have yours. FTTF is just one way to attract the new guys!

  6. Something seems fishy here. Are people getting something for their positive posts. Some are brand new here, as if they opened an account just for that. Perhaps future discounts when you bring a positive review.

  7. Rent a one way car. Budget, Avis ,Alamo or any of the big guys rent one way for under $50. They pick you up at port you pick up a car, and off you go. Spend the day at WDW , then turn in the car at the airport . Easy

OOPs just reread your post and you will need two days car rental because your spending the night, or return the car first and take Disney bus back to park. What do you want to save most,, money or time!

  8. huh? The previous cruise had about 1% reportable cases, and the present cruise appears (from last night's west coast news reports) to still be under 5%, so this is not a major outbreak. There are still over 2800 passengers onboard that are not sick. There was a deep cleaning between cruises, and there are protocols in place during this cruise, and according to those same news broadcasts (someone posted a link over on carnival forum, not that the tv station got it all right), the numbers are dropping. If the numbers weren't dropping by the end of the voyage, the usph/cdc would have an investigation team board the ship at the next turnaround (today?) to check on all protocols being used. As soon as the reportable cases reaches 2% of passengers and crew, there must be a special report made to the usph, with 24 hour updates, another report when cases reaches 3%, again with 24 hour updates. So the usph is tracking this every day, and can weigh in at any time if they feel that the ship is not doing enough.

Multiple cruise outbreaks are usually caused by b2b cruisers or infected crew, both of which were on the crown. All it takes is for one infected person, who has not shown symptoms yet, or who may never show symptoms, not using good hygiene to touch something after it is sanitized, and the cycle repeats all over again.

Preventing noro is all about personal hygiene, whether passenger or crew, and the crew are trained and drilled in hygiene, while the passengers are not. Once it is onboard, or in the college dorm or nursing home, it is very difficult to contain.

    yeah, what he said!

  9. I am NOT a germaphobe, not even one little bit, but I had to give up the hot tubs. 3 cruise's in a row I went home all rashy after using the hot tub. But because I like them ( and because I'm not too smart ) I went in AGAIN on my last cruise--same rash. NO more hot tubes for me. BTW I've gotten a rash on CCL-HAL and RCCL
