Hi Spence. why do they ask for cabin details when customers order included drinks? I asked this question to a waiter last time I was onboard and his reply was Stock control.๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ

7th June Catalan Coastline - visit to Porto - TukTuk?
Brummijam replied to Brissle's topic in Saga Cruises
Hi Brizzle. My take on security is good quality locks and burglar alarm but more importantly proper all inclusive insurance. I can think of nothing worse than being on holiday and getting a video alert that a burglar is ransacking my home and would I care to watch. If it happens I will find out when I get home, Let the insurance sort it. I have been victim to burglars in the past and itโs not nice so why let it ruin your holiday. Keep well. -
Hi Brick1. I really canโt see how this would be an issue if you want to disembark early, Marella canโt really force you to stay on the ship. Obviously your flight home becomes your problem. good luck.๐

Palma airport to cruise port
Brummijam replied to Discovery2 Cruiser's topic in Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson)
Hi Ki. Have a look here, taxi is app โฌ30 from the airport area. There are a few ways to reach Palma de Mallorca port from the airport. Taxis can be found outside the main airport terminal. The fare to the cruise port costs around โฌ25-30, but itโs always worth clarifying prior to departure as some taxiโs operate on a meter system. The journey time is approximately 20 minutes, and the same costs apply returning from Palma port to the airport. Private Transfer Palma de Mallorca Airport to Cruise Port Itโs also possible to arrange a private transfer shuttle from Palma de Mallorca airport to cruise port. They are often cheaper for groups travelling together. The vehicle prices range from โฌ25-30 for four people, to โฌ37-40 for up to six people. Bus from Palma de Mallorca Airport to Cruise Port If you are arriving at Palma airport and wish to travel by bus to port of Palma de Mallorca cruise terminal, there are currently no direct public bus services. The A1 bus will transport you from the airport, firstly to Passeig Mallorca in the cityโs Old Town, and here you transfer to bus no. 1 at (stop 19) โInstitutsโ or (stop 20) โJaume IIIโ. This bus takes you directly to the cruise port and the cost for the entire combined trip is โฌ8 per person. I Would think a taxi would be the easiest option.๐ -
Last time that we were in tenerife my wife was struggling to walk (She had twisted her knee a couple of weeks earlier) At the check in building/ tent there were four or five crew with wheelchairs and one of them approached us and offered the wheelchair which we accepted and he pushed the chair all of the way to our cabin.๐ I must agree the walk from the coach drop off to the ship is decent especially if you are less able.

Thatโs a shame, canโt you book assistance at the airport? Dont know where you are flying from but at Birmingham itโs a pretty good service.

From a quick google search. Unsure how recent this is but itโs exactly the menu that we had last September.

And as I recall no bar. ๐ฅฒ Itโs an outside seating area for the market place buffet.

Thatโs disappointing, we always went back to the cabin after the turndown service and picked our copy up so that we could muse over the following days offerings,โน๏ธ Hi RR hope all is well with you and yours.๐ -
Our trip on June 3rd has dining and spa treatments but no excursions as yet.

First time Saga cruiser. Chauffeur service question.
Brummijam replied to Fox trotter's topic in Saga Cruises
Fortunately for you paying the extra cost for a private car isnโt going to break the bank, The original poster has a 300 mile plus journey so a private car would be astronomical. Your reply hasnโt really helped the topic being discussed.๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ -

Included return chauffeur service A chauffeur will pick you up from home and take you to the port at Dover or Portsmouth. 2024 cruises: A private chauffeur if you live up to 75 miles of the port each way or a shared chauffeur service up to 300 miles. 2025 cruises: A private chauffeur if you live up to 75 miles of the port each way or a shared chauffeur service nationwide As a previous poster has said everything is always negotiable. Worst possible scenario is you end up paying for the few extra miles. -
Eastern med is always slightly more expensive than western med so itโs about right. you can do a western med cruise called โHighlights of the medโ on 6 of May with a seven day stay in Majorca included for ยฃ1521 each base price,Worth a look if you havenโt done the western med before. The same trip with a 4 night stay in Majorca is ยฃ1444.

Yes the land side operation does leave a lot to be desired, but they donโt seem that bothered with trying to improve it.๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ -
Daily newsletter in cabin
Brummijam replied to deardarkness's topic in Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson)
You are welcome. The daily newsletter is delivered to your room when they do the turndown service. It gives details of activities, locations, and times on the ship also restaurant and bar opening times. Other info is the port authorityโs and the ships phone no. unfortunatly there are no maps but I think that reception may print them on request. Hope this helps. -

Marella Ship up for sale?
Brummijam replied to Bertie Doe's topic in Marella Cruises (formerly Thomson)
Is this a Peaky Blinders project.?๐๐๐๐ -
Hi pennib. We were on explorer the week before Christmas 22. We also found the beds slightly hard. I think the problems at Manchester Airport will be resolved later this year, when the new security halls are completed, With regards to Tenerife, my wife who is able bodied unfortunately turned her ankle a couple of days before we embarked and was limping into the check in building, a young phillipino lad came to us with a wheelchair and wheeled her straight to our cabin we were very impressed so not all bad. keep well.

Three floors up for food and one floor down for drinks, perfect location.๐๐๐

We have been on Explorer many times, itโs a nice ship. Some of the beds have been a bit too firm for my liking but we were informed on our last trip that mattress toppers were available. Hope you have a great time.๐
