  1. Wait wait wait....X charges for prime rib?! In the MDR?
  2. I just bought it 2 days ago in board and it was 50% off no onboard credit given
  3. They said sleep on the beach. Clarification would be nice
  4. I would be SOOOO PISSED. The bugs would eat me alive
  5. This is why I walk everywhere or bike. I can't do something 25 miles away, but I'm OK with that. If something happens, I can just walk back to the port around the traffic jam. I understand that ppl are differently able and I'm young enough to do that
  6. You can't sign contracts that break the law. It isn't how the law works. My point, NCL can't keep port taxes and fees if you miss a port. But keep defending NCL and let them keep your money.
  7. Please point to where it says that in the contract. That's like saying that the cruise fare went up after you paid, and they are asking you to pay more. My state has consumer rights that prevent that from happening, regardless of what the contract says.
  8. I don't understand your assumptions. Why is staffing at Alfredo more expensive than the MDR? People eat ungodly amounts of food. I would think it would be cheaper to feed them cheap pizza than 3rd or 4th entrees in the MDR.
  9. I think we were on the same cruise. I was on there from July 23 to Aug 15. I would like to read their review. Can someone post it? The restaurant manager on the star is very nice (10/10). I was on the getaway immediately after the star, and the food is largely the same. I presume the food is pretty consistent across the line.
  10. So how is it legal to charge me the port taxes and fees and not refund it if they don't go to the port? Doesn't make sense.
  11. They can't charge more for port taxes and fees after final sale. I think it's in the contract, but my state has laws preventing that from happening (per my friend who is a lawyer).
  12. Could you please post the link? Thanks. I know the cruise right before mine had to cancel 8 ports bc of weather. Maybe that happened to her?
  13. I don't understand how it can be legal for any cruise line to keep the port taxes and fees for a port/country that I don't go to.
  14. Best time to sail is from June to August. Locals say it starts to snow in some places (Longyearbyen) in September. I was just there from July to August 2023 and it was a great trip!
  15. What's wrong with the star? I was on her 6 weeks ago for this exact same itinerary
  16. Thanks so much for your help I'm in US. I'd only want to work there for 3 months though. Not sure if that would be possible. But I'm locked in to my contract for another 3 years.
  17. ItSo I have decided today that I am cruising to Antarctica solo. I have been wanting to go and to actually set foot on Antarctica for about 5 years. However no one wants to go with me because it's too cold and expensive. Does anyone have any recommendations on lines that give single supplement or are more affordable? Cost is the number one concern since costs can balloon fast. My only requirement is that I actually get to step onto the continent. I prefer English to be spoken but it's not a requirement. I have even thought of working a few months as a doctor in Antarctica, but that requires a LOT of paper work. It's still an option, but it's more of a last resort if the cruise would cost me 30k+.
  18. Do you have to do reserve to do my time dining? Sorry but it's hard for me to keep all these changes straight in my head
  19. No actual musicals like on NCL and RCL. It's mostly musical review shows, which isn't for me
  20. He saw you naked and you tipped him? That's not how it works where i am from 😉
